Singular possessive of name ending in s

It's not like a plural possessive. "Sacks's" needs the final s to conform to standard rules. And in wikipedia, for some reason, it's conventional to use ASCII apostrophe and quotes instead of the fancy ones. Dicklyon (talk) 16:13, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Oh, I see. Thanks for telling me! In the German wikipedia the fancy quotes are used… I guess I can add this to my mental notes about difference between the different wikipedia projects. :) --ozean (talk) 17:12, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

addendum: Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Quotation_marks says both are allowed. I won’t change them back, of course, but I just wanted to point this out. --ozean (talk) 17:38, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

It says there "The exclusive use of straight quotes and apostrophes is recommended. They are easier to type in reliably, and to edit." Dicklyon (talk) 04:28, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Expansion of Harold Garfinkel page
