Cleaning up my contributions

Because of my Parkinson's, I may have to edit my edits and talks from time to time. Even with best practice, personal sandboxing on my desktop, issues still remain. Please feel free to clean up anything I missed. P37307 (talk) 04:45, 19 June 2018 (UTC)

Templates I am learning. I've edited Wikipedia pages since 2010. Recently I've been more active. There are so many templates and I'm learning as I go along now that I am active more.

I've learned more templates recently but I'm starting to keep track of them here for quick recall. If you think of a often used or a particular Template, please include it here. I would appreciate it. I started this on June 15, 2018.

Betty White's Smartest Animals in America

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Betty White's Smartest Animals in America, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Betty Whites's Smartest Animals in America. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. CorenSearchBot (talk) 20:11, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Great & the Small, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Variety (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver).   Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Big Brother 20 (U.S.). Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Edit Warring

I recently got involved in a momentary edit war and have reviewed WP:3RR (for the first as this was a new event that moved quickly) on the Big_Brother_20_(U.S.) page (See https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Big_Brother_20_(U.S.)&action=history) and will comply with WP:3RR in the future. P37307 (talk) 01:12, 7 June 2018 (UTC)

Just note that although it wasn’t known at the time the edits that you reverted were performed by a banned/blocked user which does fall under the exemption category of WP:NOT3RR. TheDoctorWho (talk) 18:26, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it. P37307 (talk) 19:15, 9 June 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Blaine Trump

Hello P37307, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Blaine Trump, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 is not about notability and there is RS coverage that indicates significance. If you are interested in learning more about how speedy deletion works, I have compiled a list of helpful pages at User:SoWhy/SDA. You can of course also contact me if you have questions. Thank you. SoWhy 06:50, 22 August 2018 (UTC)

Also, this was previously not deleted at AFD (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Blaine Trump), so it's not eligible for speedy deletion anyway. Regards SoWhy 06:53, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for the links. I studied the deletions pages before I tagged it but guess I miss something somewhere. I will study your handy guide for future reference. P37307 (talk) 07:28, 22 August 2018 (UTC)

Gersh

User: Mdinga I don't know how to use talk pages. I am trying to edit the Gersh Agency article, because it has several errors, and includes personal information the company would not like public. My edits keep getting removed because I don't know how to explain why I am making them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mdinga (talkcontribs) 17:30, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

Thanks Mdinga for reaching out to me Mdinga. First, the info that you are trying to remove will never be allowed to be removed by any editor. Many people and companies have things on Wikipedia that they want removed but it will never be removed. Next, you are wanting to add that his sons are now running the company. That can be added but there will need to be a reference and citation that proves it. I searched and can't find one but if you have a citation, I will help you. P37307 (talk) 18:56, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for your help! I understand why certain things can't be removed. Is it possible, however, to remove the birth years of the current heads of the company, as that is personal information? Mdinga (talk) 19:34, 22 October 2018 (UTC) Mdinga 12:4, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

Mdinga I removed the date of births based on wp:BLP and WP:Notability guidelines. Let's hope it sticks. Thank you for reaching out to me! If you run into a problem again, just go to your talk page or the talk page of the page you are wanting to edit and paste {{helpme}} with a short explanation of the issue and someone will come and help. We really don't mind. P37307 (talk) 05:29, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

Miley Cyrus

See Talk:Miley Cyrus#Reorganize_the_page's talk page for my opinion on the page design. I messed up and said see my talk page. Sorry to give you the run around. P37307 (talk) 22:44, 26 December 2018 (UTC)

December 2018

Your recent editing history at Miley Cyrus shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Laser brain (talk) 05:44, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

I attempted open a discussion on how to clear up Miley Cyrus page.

@Laser brain: I disagree I am edit warring. I made an original edit and reverted twice and stopped reverting with notification of discussion both times on the Talk:Miley Cyrus#Reorganize_the_page talk page. I also opened, in the talk Page, at the time of my first edit, which added a "Personal life" section, that was absent, that changed no one's content or edits, that we discuss how to clean the page up.

My Original edit adding a "Personal life" section: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Miley_Cyrus&diff=875485668&oldid=875483352 with notice to see talk page. Revert #1 https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Miley_Cyrus&diff=875520347&oldid=875513819 (Summary:Earlier I made an edit to add a Personal life section and I opened discussion in the Talk Page about the page formatting. Restoring) Revert #2 https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Miley_Cyrus&diff=875526862&oldid=875523239 with message to the repeat revertor who reverted multiple edits (+3) on the personal section I created including other editors. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Cristabel0&diff=875526242&oldid=872488780 and the now deleted warring notice https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Cristabel0&diff=875526658&oldid=875526242 I didn't want a war and stopped short of one. What I wanted was the page to have some flow as it is hard to read in the current form with life and early career, etc, all in one section and a very long lead. I was hoping the community could come up with a formatting solution to this page. P37307 (talk) 06:26, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

To don't have to breach 3RR to be edit warring. Any time you are repeatedly restoring something that has been challenged, you are edit warring. You should follow WP:BRD as a good practice to get along with other editors. Once you knew other people had an issue with your addition, you should have opened a thread on the Talk page instead of restoring it again. --Laser brain (talk) 15:01, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

Recent posting of serious BLP violation to your page.

Beyond disruptive

At what point is enough, enough, when there is an editor hellbent on being disruptive?

Regarding Chris Pratt In this talk page section, Talk:Chris_Pratt Positive Consensus For Inclusion Of Recent Section On Passive Indifference, among other things, the editor writes, So, in a few more days, if no one bothers to build an argument around a different consensus, I will include the section based upon the merit of my existing arguments that has lead to the current state of affairs How long do we have to put up with monitoring this page for this same editing behavior? The community has been overly patient, pointing to WP's, etc. It's beyond disruptive!

It has carried over to various editors of this sagas Talk Pages, with some of these same arguments and proper guidance to various WP's, with simple explanations of the issues. The editor has been locked out for a period of time by admin Crazycomputers, see See User_talk:Ace_Frahm#July_2021 where editor attacks Crazycomputers even, and came back with an axe to grind to the Chris Pratt talk page, keeping editors busy.

It also appears this editor has long term chronic, bad faith editing behaviors on other pages, along with personal attacks, receiving guidance and patience.

I mainly do maintenance edits, like dead links, citations needed, etc, so this is a new area of concern for me. That's what brought me to the Chris Pratt page in the first place, maintenance. If I have raised the issue wrongly, please advise me of the best way to deal with this situation. I wanted to seek guidance before I navigate to the administrator boards. Thanks in advance.   Hello, I'm Mvcg66b3r. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to WSTR-TV seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mvcg66b3r My edit was neutral. It reported about a hacking, disruptions to the channels, and used Local 12 as well as WSTR's announcements and third party legit news as sources. I don't see where you even see a POV in what my edit was. Explain where there is an opinion that isn't a stated fact. There is no opinion stated. There was a hack. The channels are down. --P37307 (talk) 21:04, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
