Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Printed circuit board, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Simply reinserting material after it has been reverted is not acceptable behaviour here. That is edit warring and can lead to editors being blocked if persisted with. The expected response is to open a discussion on the relevant article talk page if you disagree. The material you added was uncited and was challenged. It is still uncited now. Verifiability is a core Wikipedia content policy. Please either provide a reference or stop edit warring the material in. SpinningSpark 15:56, 8 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Microwave oven

edit

Microwave oven (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

I have reverted your most recent edit. Wikipedia can't be used for a reference for itself and a video on Youtube is not a reliable source.

Please stop trying to assert what "most people think"; it doesn't matter, and there is no reliable way to source such a statement since no one has ever polled "most people" about their perceptions of microwave energy. We deal in facts, and all we need do is report that microwave radiation is non-ionizing, etc. Dwpaul Talk 22:54, 27 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

P.S. - Based on your earlier comment about the comments on the Youtube video you intended to use as a source, the most you could state here as a fact using that as a source is is that "most of the people who commented on a particular Youtube video did not understand the nature of microwave energy." Do you understand why you could not say anything other than that based on that source, and why that is not a useful statement in this article? Dwpaul Talk 23:03, 27 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Evercool

Hello, Pancho507. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Evercool".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13. An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Rankersbo (talk) 13:46, 16 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Usernames

edit

Hi, Before reporting usernames please check their registration date as well as their actual contributions - If they've been registered before 2017 then chances are your requests are to be speedy declined and if they don't edit anything remotely related to that brand (IE Acer for instance) then don't bother reporting then, Thank you. –Davey2010Talk 03:31, 12 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

There are also preconditions for reporting at WP:RFC/N that you apparently missed, so I am reproducing them here for your benefit:

Do NOT post here if:

  • the user in question has made no recent edits.
  • you wish to have the block of a user reviewed. Instead, discuss the block with the blocking administrator (see also Wikipedia:Blocking policy#Unblocking).

Before adding a name here you MUST ensure that the user in question:

  • has been warned about their username (with e.g. {{subst:uw-username}}) and has been allowed time to address the concern on their user talk page.
  • has disagreed with the concern, refused to change their username and/or continued to edit without replying to the warning.
  • is not already blocked.
Hope tht helps. Beeblebrox (talk) 05:06, 12 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Wearing masks "whenever possible"

edit

Hello! Could you, please, explain this edit? More specifically, could you add a quote by Panama officials that specifically says to wear masks "whenever possible"?

You see, wearing masks is not really helpful when there are no people around you. For example, a farmer in the middle of the field doesn't need a mask. So it would be very strange if someone really suggested to wear a mask in all situations. --Amakuha (talk) 04:02, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Amakuha: "En la medida de lo posible" in spanish roughly translates to "whenever possible". And yes, i know, it's weird. i just added what they said. I'm a native spanish speaker. Pancho507 (talk) 05:47, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Did they say that in the video? Because the article doesn't have those words. Anyway, it would be nice if you could find an official governmental page with official advice. He might have just misspoke. --Amakuha (talk) 10:39, 4 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding commercial references to Wikipedia

edit

Hello, I'm J. M.. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. —J. M. @J. M.: I am currently unemployed and i don't freelance either. I added it in good faith, and those were the only sources i could find. I do understand your concerns, since i've also seen a lot of people trying to use wikipedia to promote their business. Also, disguising a commercial link as a reference from an advertising point of view is a bad idea since it is hidden from the naked eye. Pancho507 (talk) 11:59, 13 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Coronavirus move discussion

edit

Hello Pancho! I do agree with you that "Coronavirus pandemic" would be a good name to the page 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic page. However, the current proposal is to move to "COVID-19 pandemic". I'm afraid your comment will too easily be counted as a "support" to the current proposal. Since you seem to oppose that proposal, I'm very tempted to edit your comment to start with "Oppose" instead of "support". However, that might be illegal... Reusable launch system vs. Reusable spacecraft

edit

Hi there - I'm conducting a New pages patrol on the page Reusable spacecraft and I noticed your recent edits. I just wanted to see what your thoughts are on the need for a separate article from Reusable launch system. They seem to be part of the same general concept and so I'd think we'd want to keep all of that information together but I'd like to know your feedback before I start any proposals. Paradoxsociety 04:47, 9 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Paradoxsociety Hi, i split the article in response to a request made by Soumya-8974 on Talk:Reusable launch system, to which i agreed, since reusable spacecraft are different from reusable launch systems (reusable spacecraft like the space shuttle orbiters are meant to orbit and reenter many times, and include heat tiles to protect against heat during reentry, reusable rockets/launch systems are not meant to orbit, and as far as i know they do not have heat tiles) so they are the same in the sense that they are reusable but i believe they are not entirely the same since reusable spacecraft can orbit whereas reusable launch systems can not, and reusable spacecraft include special systems to deorbit and to protect against heat during reentry, things launch systems do not have. I believe the article is necessary because the space shuttle orbiters aren't alone anymore. Also, reusable spacecraft can be launched aboard expendable and reusable launch systems, so i believe the two shouldn't be treated as a system but as two different components, the reusable spacecraft being the payload of a reusable or expendable rocket.   Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Washing machine. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. Pure Storage page edits

Hi Pancho507. I work for Pure Storage, a company that makes flash memory products. I disclosed a conflict of interest and requested a few small changes at Talk:Pure_Storage#Requested_edits. However, nobody has responded. I saw that you were one of the biggest contributors to the flash memory page, so I was hoping you might be willing to review my proposed changes.

WP:COI requires that I request impartial editors like yourself consider my proposed changes, rather than making them myself. Let me know if you’re willing to take a look. Best regards, Zac. ZacBond (talk) 16:07, 3 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time, but it requires a strong understanding of Wikipedia’s CSD policy and notability guidelines.
  • Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision, and feel free to post on the project talk page with questions.
  • If patrolling new pages is something you'd be willing to help out with, please consider applying here.
