Re: Famous Kapus

edit

I have tagged the lists with POV and cleanup/verify/context tags where needed. As for restoring Famous Kapus, again, I'm not an administrator, so I can't do it. --Coredesat talk! 04:20, 29 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's better of to place list it in Wikipedia:Deletion review as it was deleted validly per AFD. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 16:55, 2 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Reg Kapu article changes

edit

Dear Panel1, I appreciate your hardwork and sincerity in writing and safe guarding the kapu article in wikipedia.I have made some minor changes to the Kapu article to highlight the present political awakening that has taken place to get their share of power and economic status.I also added some basic facts like govt ignorement towards kapus and lack of major politcal representation in both the major parties.I have added by commnets in the discussion section too. Please have a look at the article. Also we need to see whether we can add some of the sections added by Andhra and Telugu bidda which you have deleted.I think showcasinf Kapu caste as the mother of caste is NOT wrong..its been proved by social scientists too.

Thanks for your inputs

Dear Panel1 garu, Your chnages are good and make sense.I really appreciate them. The main reason I have added the Old and present suitaation of kapus is to make them realise what they have lost over the years. Many of kapus are NOT inclined to take politics or businesss b'cas of which the whole community is going backwards. There is a need for this new generation of kapus to know their history and also on what they have lost and also how they can fight for thier rightfull share in nation building. Off course the Kapu article has to be historical but i firmly beleive that they is a need to show kapus where they are now and what they are lacking and what needs to done...Its always easy to showcase the strenghts BUT it takes gr8 courage to analyse the weaknesses and accept them and gr8 effort to elimintate them...I would make sure that those are put in a subtle and proper way so that persons who read this article are NOT offended thats was the main reason why I had added the gr8 contributions of kapus over the centuries.. I also like to inform you that I have been an active contributor and safe keeper of this article for the last 2-3 yrs since the first basic article was written.I would try to maintain the same role and responsibility.

Thanks, John Rambo 00:36, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments on various social groups. Basically all Telugu agrarian groups originated from a common stock. They got divided on the basis of geographical, social, economic, religious and political reasons. Reddy was not a caste till recently (40 years). They are categorized as Kapus even today in many regions. Reddy is a title used by Kapu, Velama, Kamma, Yadava, Boya etc., Distinct features and traits are seen in early separated Kamma and Velama groups. Modern molecular techniques can reveal similarities and divergence. Self glorification ignoring history is unscientific.Kumarrao (talk) 15:21, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

A few copyediting points

edit

Greetings, your enthusiasm is impressive, but some of the work you're doing will have to be cleaned up by other editors due to variance from Wikipedia standards. You could help us by keeping in mind that the following things generally aren't used in Wikipedia.

  • Bolding various words simply because they're important: "This occurred in the Medieval Period and...". Either put a wikilink on the word, or just leave it plain. Bolding is mainly just used for the first time the title word is used in the article, not just for emphasis.
  • "&" is not used in normal text; please type "and"
  • "Note:" is not generally used, same thing with "It is important to note that", "surprisingly", etc. If you're writing it down, there's an assumption that it's worth noting, otherwise we wouldn't include it.
  • "See [[Article X]]" is used sometimes, sparingly, but nowhere near as heavy as you're using it. It's not mean to be used every few sentences. One good way to replace this is at the start of a section with the {{see| }} and {{main| }} tags.

Just a few pointers on keeping editing as smooth as possible. Thanks! MatthewVanitas (talk) 22:21, 30 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kapu (caste), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Naik and Mithila. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm Sitush. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Kapu (caste), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page.

Please read WP:RS. Blogspot sources, especially where associated with specific castes, are not reliable. Thanks. Sitush (talk) 01:19, 13 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
