If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. City council?

edit

Hi Pat. I saw you moved the 1925 article to "City Council", saying Liverpool was a city from 1880. Does this mean all the other "borough" council election articles should be moved (and the text changed) too? Happy to help out. Cheers, Number 57 21:45, 1 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Number 57, I have moved all of the "Liverpool Borough Council election" pages to "Liverpool City Council election" from 1926 to 1972. Thanks for the offer of help. Not sure if I'm using the correct method of responding? Apologies if I have got it wrong.
Great stuff (and you responded fine). I have fixed the links on {{Merseyside elections}}. I think just the pages need to have the text changed like this. Cheers, Number 57 21:59, 1 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanksfor that, I'll get the text corrected as soon as I can.

File permission problem with File:Carl Cashman.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Carl Cashman.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Train2104 (t • c) 20:52, 22 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Liverpool City Council election, 1914

edit

The article Liverpool City Council election, 1914 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per the article itself, no elections were in fact held due to WW1. Article is therefore about something which did not happen.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 09:58, 4 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

This is an interesting point. Legally, the elections were called, however none of the seats were contested. It was not unusual at this time for some seats to be uncontested, in which case the lone candidates were deemed to be elected unopposed. What is of course unusual in this case was that all of the seats were uncontested, and thus all of the candidates were elected unopposed. This can be compared with the situation in 1915 to 1918 when legislation extended the terms of office of all Councillor by a year, effectively suspending the elections. As with other years from 1835, I have included by elections. I have in this article included appointments of replacement councillors under the wartime legislation as I contend that this information is within the spirit of the article. So bearing these points in mind I would argue for the page to be retained. Pat.moloney (talk) 20:09, 5 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
