Thanks. It seems I need to disclose the potential conflict of interest here. I accept that happily. It also seems based on what you've cited that the citation-needed tag must stay since no secondary source exists to back up the statement. (Maaaybe actually there is such a source in an article written well after the incident, after the decision in question had been taken, but I'd have to dig hard for it.)
