Then why not simply write the article? An entry on a disambiguation page that doesn't lead to an article is useless, and that es link is neither elegant nor, I think, in agreement with the MoS. Drmies (talk) 22:25, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- Touché. I was hoping someone more knowledgeable about the subject would do it for me and the dab link felt possibly helpful in that respect. But it's not like I cared deeply about the issues and I wouldn't have reverted the removal from the dab page had it not been for the "not notable" edit summary which I felt was unfair. In any case, kudos to you for taking the non-lazy route and writing the stub. Cheers, Pichpich (talk) 23:04, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- Well, it occurred to me after your edit that I should have said "redlink" or something like that instead of "not notable". Now, an es article doesn't mean automatic notability, of course, but there was one good article (there's only two sources...) that was enough to base a stub one, IMO. I looked through Google Books and News as well, but all of it was in Spanish (and I am bad at Spanish). There's a DYK in it if you like... Drmies (talk) 23:35, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
- Yes of course. I never intended to mean that an es article confers notability but in that instance, the es article had good pointers. As for the DYK well let's just say I've never been a big fan of DYK. :-) Best, Pichpich (talk) 03:26, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

I'm going to delete the redirect at Transit (2011 film), but there are still a number of links pointing to the old title. Please fix those links before deleting. Night Gyr (talk/Oy) 16:38, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- ah yes of course. Because it was a new page, I didn't check the "what links here" but as this example shows, this is not a smart thing to do! In any case, I've updated the incoming links so the redirect can be safely deleted now. Thanks, Pichpich (talk) 18:54, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

The A
editI guess a redirection is ok, I am just concerned about what happens if people are looking for a possible meaning of "A" (without the "The") or "The A's" (the baseball team). I guess in principle this is supposed to be taken care of on the target page, Atlanta, with a template at the top, but in the context of the Atlanta page (high hit rate) it would be so rare for that error to occur as to make such a template seem not worthy of being there.
Is a nickname in itself not a useful topic of discussion? Viz. Big Apple. This is really just a skeleton version of the same concept. Being from Atlanta, I think it is interesting to see in which media and songs the term appears and which community (African American / hiphop) it is used. Can we keep it if I make it look a tiny bit more like Big Apple? Keizers (talk) 17:10, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Well if you want an equivalent of the Big Apple article, I think the correct title would be something like The A (Atlanta) or The A (nickname of Atlanta) but I'm not sure that a separate article is necessary. I'm not from Atlanta but I see no evidence that the nickname is used much beyond metro Atlanta and it's not so clear there's that much to say about the nickname without running into original research problems. In any case, I think the first step is to add a small section in the article Atlanta and see where that takes you. Does that make sense? Pichpich (talk) 17:29, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Gotcha, but I am seeing a little inconsistency in how articles about city nicknames are handled. Big Apple does not redirect you to New York City, but rather informs you on the origin and use of the term. This is what I am envisioning for "The A" - short as that might be in comparison to "Big Apple". Judapest, Metromahala, Mokum, and The Great Wen do the same. I have reformatted the article's text to prose and - short as it may be - to reflect the principle of the Big Apple et al. articles. If you still find it unworthy, then please go ahead an institute a redirect and I will incorporate the text within either the main article or a Nicknames of Atlanta article.Keizers (talk) 18:00, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
- Inconsistency on Wikipedia? Surely you're mistaken. :-)
- All kidding aside, the examples you just listed are interesting and I see a stark difference between them and the case of "The A". The first obvious difference is the need to explain the nickname. Everybody gets why New York City or Los Angeles are nicknamed NYC or LA but The Great Wen or Mokum definitely require an explanation. The other and perhaps most important difference is coverage of that specific topic in reliable sources (otherwise known as the general notability criterion). The current article on "The A" lists authors using the nickname but Big Apple cites sources whose sole concern is the nickname itself. Ditto for Mokum and Judapest. (It's not the case for Metromahala but that one shouldn't be a standalone article either). While your examples of use of the nickname are interesting, they are still anecdotal and come close to original research. All in all I still feel that the best option is to redirect The A to Atlanta and to add The A in the list of nicknames of Atlanta in List of city nicknames in Georgia (U.S. state). Hello Pichpich,
Thank you for letting me know my mistake. I would like to know your name. Mine is Sachin. Whats yours? We can remain in touch so that I can fight against QNET,where both of us have failed.Ha Ha Ha — Preceding unsigned comment added by TeamInfiniti (talk • contribs)
Hi I want to state an important FACT, namely that QNET is the official direct selling partner of the Marussian F1 Virgin Racing Team, and this makes it the only direct selling company in the world to sponsor Formula One. Why dont you let me write that??
You only allow old outdated info , nothing after 2007!
ITs very important.
Here is the proof, on the very front of the teams homepage : http://www.marussiaf1team.com/ (Wikigeekpower (talk) 22:40, 21 August 2012 (UTC)).
Hi thanx for your reply. Nope I am not saying thats the only thing I changed, in fact I made many changes...but since you deleted everything and literally nullified my efforts of making the page LESS biased, I chose a different approach..
As for giving due weight, believe me, I am! QNET is "the official direct selling partner", and that is a huge accomplishment for any company, as u know F1 is the single most expensive and prestigious sport in the world, we are talking about millions and millions of dollars in sponsorship a year, not many 13 year old companies can afford that! This is a huge boost of credibility, I wanted to put a picture of Dato Vijay Eswaran (the CEO of QNET and the QI GROUP as a whole) and Sir Richard Branson (CEO of Virgin GROUP) together celebrating the launch of this partnership. Here is an image : http://www.google.co.id/imgres?q=sir+richard+branson+qnet&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1666&bih=865&tbm=isch&tbnid=ignlXIX45UEO7M:&imgrefurl=http://mybiodisc.blog.com/2011/03/16/about-amezcua-biodisc/&docid=LVWnY5QrBq4ZsM&imgurl=http://mybiodisc.blog.com/files/2011/03/qnet.jpg&w=900&h=555&ei=6mQ0UPSwF8fTrQew9IGQAQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=561&vpy=167&dur=1753&hovh=176&hovw=286&tx=117&ty=77&sig=104316749712648945974&page=1&tbnh=123&tbnw=199&start=0&ndsp=28&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0,i:76
I have made an effort to establish a connection between QNET and the QI GROUP by linking the page to Dato Vijay Eswaran, (the CEO and founder of QNET and the whole conglomerate of which QNET is the flagship subsidiary) he has a very nice page on Wikipedia already.. Nobody made that connection so far
Also not enough is being said about RYTHM.. the way its just thrown in there is so brusque, without any context (the RYTHM is the mission of QNET, thats entirely missing).
In addition I had alot to say about the business model and the new compensation plan called QINFINITE
There are many important things I want to say.. How about this, you give me your email and I send you the FULL thing I want to upload.. so far you havent seen the full thing because I was only able to update parts before you restored it to the default version..
Would that be ok? Please let me know. (Wikigeekpower (talk) 08:40, 22 August 2012 (UTC))

Much obliged! Way too many of those Mississippi legislators are redlinks, and some of the "bluelinks" are actually false positives. Wisconsin has a bunch of active Wikipedians who make sure that every new legislator has an article, usually by the day after the general election and sometimes the day after the primary (in my district, the Democratic nominee is guaranteed the winner: the Republicans don't even bother to find a token candidate anymore, and the Greens don't want to anger the progressive Democrats). --Orange Mike | Talk 15:57, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
- You're very welcome. I just stumbled upon the article because it showed up in Wikipedia:Database reports/Completely unreferenced biographies of living people (newest). I have no expertise whatsoever on Mississippi legislators (and no expertise whatsoever on politics) but it's not really required to piece together a few references with basic info. Ballotpedia is a nice starting point by the way. Cheers, Pichpich (talk) 16:26, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
- Ballotpedia is a wiki, and thus not a reliable source of itself. It is most useful as a source for data mining. Actually, the Mississippi House has a page with live links to the official websites of all the incumbents; I just don't have the time to do much work on the legislature of a state I haven't lived in since I was 6. I've got a legislator-turned-dictator to overthrow! --Orange Mike | Talk 20:39, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
- He he... Good luck with that recall. Also I fully agree that Ballotpedia is not a reliable source – and I haven't used it as such – but they cite their sources and that's what I used. Pichpich (talk) 20:47, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Moving categories from articles with living people
editYour edit [1]moving several categories from Christo and Jeanne-Claude to their individual redirects makes sense to me, mostly, but I am doubtful about moving the BLP cat. Even though Jean-Claude is dead, I think the BLP cat may belong on the article for the couple, since that is the one that may draw vandalism and libel. Do you think that this should be discussed at Wikipedia:Categorizing redirects? Meanwhile I set the parameter for WPBiography living=yes at the couple's talk page for BLP coverage of Christo.--Hjal (talk) 08:14, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
- I don't mind discussing it but I'm convinced that the BLP cat should be reserved for individual biographies. The primary purpose of Category:Living people is categorization, not maintenance and we shouldn't change that. Keeping the BLP cat on the Christo and Jeanne-Claude article to prevent BLP vandalism is like adding the BLP cat to The Beatles which is just as likely to draw libel as Paul McCartney or Ringo Starr. Pichpich (talk) 13:09, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
- The same question came up with Anna and Bernhard Blume, and in the same way I would argue that whereas the members of the Beatles have individual biographies, Anna and Christo have not. Do you see a different way against vandalism than the "living people" cat? Until there is one, I vote for keeping the cat on the couples. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:56, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
- Again, unless you're ready to tag The Beatles with the BLP category, I just don't see how this argument makes sense. You can try to convince people to create a separate mechanism by which the BLP warning appears on all articles that contain a lot of biographical information about a living person. But we can't start placing articles in categories that are obviously wrong. Pichpich (talk) 14:19, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
- By adding the Living person=yes parameter to the WP:Biography template on the talk page, I put the talk page into Category:Biography articles of living people. Perhaps this is sufficient for BLP vandalism workers. What do you think about adding this step to the guideline for Categorizing redirects? Something like, "When moving the BLP cat from an article to a redirect, check to see if the talk page is in Category:Biography articles of living people; if not, then ..."--Hjal (talk) 16:42, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
- I'm ok with that. I just don't want articles that are placed in contradictory categories (such as Christo and Jeanne-Claude) or categorized in odd if not sinister ways (for instance if we we weren't categorizing the redirects, we'd end up placing Death of Caylee Anthony in Category:Living people.) Pichpich (talk) 05:34, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Re: Tony Samara - your speedy deletion nomination
editI note you were connected with a speedy deletion nomination in regard to the "Tony Samara" article here. Thank you. I'm not a Wikipedia member, but was surprised to see the article is "up and running", as it were. I am concerned about this kind of promotional activity on Wikipedia, and thought I'd point you to the talk page of the "article" in question where I repeat this assertion: I'd also be interested to see what your opinion is.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Tony_Samara
Thanks again. 86.135.187.39 (talk) 00:18, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Pichpich - thanks for addressing the issue of the inadequate, unsatisfactory promotional article on Tony Samara. As you know, I haven't created a WP account, so have no particular sway or much influence on what happens here. However, I noted at the talk page of the article that the user Sionk (who has been helpful) mentioned he wasn't keen to participate in further discussion. As such, I was hoping that perhaps you could somehow at the very least place the article back in AfC: surely this sort of third-rate content is unsuitable. Actually I'd welcome a debate on it. And if after a debate the article was allowed to be included at WP, I'd be A/ extremely surprised and B/ actually rather crestfallen and concerned for the future of human thought ; )
- One can't help noting that some perhaps calculating, dubious methods in regard to this have taken place, such as creating a "Meditation Leader" category (possibly to force the article). Ironic, considering the reputed purity & humility of the subject, but of course that's just my personal opinion.
- Anyway - what is the procedure for these scenarios? Surely there must be a way of dealing with articles that are (at best) found wanting, or (in this case) simply unacceptable. If anyone has an issue with its removal, the ideal outcome would be for the article to face a simple, democratic, evenhanded debate. It can't just be left like that - can it? Thank you. 86.135.187.39 (talk) 23:40, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
- Hi. To answer the last question, it certainly can be left just like that and it's not even that hard to find much worse all over the project. The problem is that there's really nothing that will prevent a sufficiently ruthless self-promoting individual or organization from getting a stable article: once they've received a bit of coverage from third-party sources, they're likely to be viewed as passing the Wikipedia notability test and it will be impossible to have the article deleted. I'm not sure Samara is there yet but if you're ready to wait a few days, I can sit down and investigate this. If he fails that test, the article can be deleted after an Articles for deletion debate. I can guide you through that process if you want. If the article is kept, the fact remains that its current form is unacceptable. In particular, you should feel free to remove anything that is not backed up by a reliable third-party source or subjective or not neutral in tone. Pichpich (talk) 17:56, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks a bundle for getting back on this. Rather disheartening, but I'm cognizant of the fact that a noble venture / body like this encyclopedia is open to possible malign manipulation. Case in point: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/02/06/gingrich-spokesman-defends-wikipedia-edits/
- Somehow seems even more grievous when one considers the fact Wikipedia represents that kind of humane, openhearted, ethical side of the web - that's precisely why I'm with Edmund Burke on this:
- "When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle."
- And whilst aware there are no doubt other articles here that possibly make the Samara one look like Shakespeare, this particular article just happens to be the one bugging me. Surely if those who want the article to survive all strive to be "a beacon of light and an example to others in all situations" (to quote the article) they'll have no problem with a fair debate. One would imagine an open and egalitarian debate would embody precisely the kind of balance and evenness people like Samara claim to typify... As I've asserted before - if Samara is as truthful, courageous and humble as the
hagiographyarticle claims, it's rather baffling why he would even care about being mentioned here. - Therefore I'd be satisfied and favourably impressed if (when you have the time) you'd be so kind as to investigate this with a view to putting the article up for an Articles for deletion debate as mentioned above. I'll meanwhile study the procedure. If this (fair and just) process takes place - if only simply to be part of a democratic process - I'll break my vow and sign up here ; ) 86.135.187.39 (talk) 21:31, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
- There are many many good reasons to create an account but this isn't really one of them. You can participate in a deletion debate without creating an account since (at least in principle) any substantive argument will be taken into account whether it comes from me with a few thousand edits, you as a new account with a dozen edits or you as an anonymous contributor. Template:Year in country category
editI notice that you do a lot of work on year categories. I have created a new template, Template:Year in country category, which can be used for the endless series of year in country categories. I have used it as an example on Category:1165 in England. For me, it seems to be much easier to use and not really harder to interpret for passing editors, but I am of course biased towards my own creation ;-)
If you believe this template to be useful, it may be an option to use it in further creations of similar categories. If it can be improved, feel free! And if you see fundamental problems with it, please raise them at my talk page, or the talk page of the template, or (if necessary) at WP:TfD.

As you might have seen from the history of the previous AFDs, attempting to cover this Non-English topic does indeed suffer from an unfortunate systemic bias, and the article needs some care. To trans-wiki something from a different Wikipedia, one governed by different versions of policy and guideline, can create concerns. Might you be willing to add the sources you found to the version here? Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 23:03, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
- It wouldn't be ideal. My understanding of these sources comes from Google Translate. That's fine to confirm the existence of relevant sources but it's a really bad place to start if you want to expand an article. Pichpich (talk) 01:02, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

Deletion
editNon-notable drink? There are numerous articles by tourists on this very drink, I myself have been one of them.
"Invented by some random Italian bartender named Sam and that it is not known outside of the bar where he works", he is actually very well known for this drink by many tourists and visitors (as I have mentioned above).
I suggest that before placing judgement on things outside of your world, you do some research and open your mind a little. I myself am from Japan, and I heard about this drink from a television show (on NHK). Perhaps you need to visit Bologna and try the drink for yourself.

Friedrich Maurer in SA personnel?
editHello Pichpich,
Thanks a lot for categorizing the new article Friedrich Maurer (linguist)! I will also add proper references to the article once I find out how to do that; I'm translating the article from the German Wikipedia and I'm not sure whether I should just copy the sources (which I don't possess and cannot all check) or whether I should find new sources.
However, I'm not very sure whether Category:SA personnel is appropriate. Maurer was apparently a member of the SA for some time, but I don't think any of the Nazi institutions that he worked for were part of the SA organisation. Qwertyus (talk) 16:17, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- Truth be told, I just lazily translated the categories from the de.wiki article. The German wiki also chose to list him as a Nazi politician which seems a bit of a stretch so I let that one go. It's not clear how much involvement with the SA qualifies someone as SA personnel. Technically he was with the SA though it's arguably not a meaningful part of his life and if you prefer to drop that category, I won't argue. Cheers, Pichpich (talk) 16:22, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, de.wiki lists Maurer as an SA and NSDAP Mitglied (member). I'll check whether he fits in Category:SS personnel instead due to the link with Ahnenerbe, or some other spot in the Nazi category. Again, thanks! Qwertyus (talk) 16:34, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- Interestingly the interwiki links equate Category:SA personnel with de:Kategorie:SA-Mitglied even though the translation would seem to indicate a smaller scope on en.wiki. As for your question about the sources, it's a difficult problem. You can't really just copy the sources and make the leap of faith that assumes that all the attribution is correct on de.wiki. On the other hand, it would be silly not to list these sources. I think it would make sense to list them as sources without using them to confirm facts in the article (if you see what I mean). I took a quick look at what I could find online but there isn't much and reading German is a really slow process for me. I guess stuff like this could be useful to confirm at least a few important dates in his life. Pichpich (talk) 16:42, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
- That's a good idea. de also lists this without referring to it directly; I think that'll be my first source for references. As for the interwiki links between categories with different scope: that happens all the time. I've tried to combat such bogus links in the Dutch Wikipedia for some time, but the bots just keep adding the links back in unless you start making intermediate categories in one of the wikis, which then get removed because they don't contain a sufficient number of pages. I've given up on that. Qwertyus (talk) 16:47, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Koln article section maked disputed????

This section's factual accuracy is disputed. (January 2012) |
Is it still so??? Can it be fixed or the tag removed? Regards, Ariconte (talk) 08:10, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- I completely forgot about this. I tried to start a dialog about a series of reverts a few months ago but one editor went crazy calling everyone who disagreed with him an editor enamored with the supposed fighting valor of the SS. The result as you can see at Talk:Cologne#Censorship of historical facts not allowed by revisionist historians favoring their own accounts is that Nick-D and myself decided to wait for input from more level-headed and competent editors. This never happened and the whole episode just slipped my mind. I'm not sure how to resolve the issue as I have no expertise on the subject. There are conflicting historical accounts of the battle of Cologne though Nick-D suggested they might not be impossible to reconcile. Pichpich (talk) 14:00, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
- I removed the tag as the dispute is not current. Thanks for your response, Ariconte (talk) 16:26, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Edit Conflict
editHello Pichpich, and thanks for your edit to this article. Your contributions are appreciated. It is generally not advisable to edit an article immediately after it is created because it is likely that there will be an edit conflict. Edit conflicts are can be time-consuming, and there are ways to ensue they happen less frequently: aiming to make edits to pages that have not been edited recently, or to wait a couple of minutes to edit an article that somebody just created. A nice page can be found here with more information. Thanks, Paul.m.kirschner (talk) 21:56, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Paul. I disagree with that advice. From the perspective of a new page patroller, that waiting period is impractical and I can assure you that edit conflicts in these circumstances are still quite rare and that what happened here was a bit of a fluke. Still, I apologize for any inconvenience. Best, Pichpich (talk) 22:24, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
While they may be quite rare, it is still common Wiki etiquette to wait a bit. Sometimes users like to create pages in chunks. On Wikipedia there is almost always a huge influx of pages, so I do understand your perspective as a new page patroller. Thanks, Paul.m.kirschner (talk) 23:43, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
Transport infrastructure by year of completion categories
editI have no problem with a bot helping out. I will note that the Tunnel categories can not be moved to the transport subcategory since it contains water tunnels in addition to those that support transport. Roads should be in the roads opened in category tree and those categories can be added to transport along with bridges and lighthouses as well as airports established in. Not sure about railway lines, but only because I have not looked there, but they should be OK. As far as the stations go, I'm unsure. While today, all stations are purpose built, were they in the past? If so, then the completion date of the building and the establishment of the station could be different. This is a problem with music venues which can pop up all over in building that were previously built. As to populating these categories, I don't think a bot can do the actual articles, as much as I would like to see that happen, since the building names commonly give no idea as to their purpose. In fact, neither to the articles! Finally how do you feel about warehouses? I think they belong in transport categories, but I'm not sure. If you look in Category:Buildings and structures completed in the 20th century and look at a few of the subcategories with less then 10 pages, you can get an idea of the types of articles that currently don't seem to fit any of the existing subcategories. I still need to create a subcategory for casinos (is this infrastructure?), but that's the only one I can think of right now that is missing. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:37, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- One point about additional areas. I've only been working through the buildings categories. I have noticed many buildings in the established in categories. So if you are looking for other areas, that could be a tree to explore. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:40, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- Category:Locks (water transport) is not one I have checked. But there have been some locks in the buildings category and I have been re categorizing them into transport by year. I also wonder in we need a category for dams by year? But that could wait for the recats into infrastructure by year so we can see how many there really are. QNET PAGE URGENT: new image+ whole new level of credibility and recognition worldwide (needs to be conveyed)
editHi Pichpich, thanx for your reply.
QNET is a lifestyle choice for 8 milllion people around the world and there are many important things missing on the page that define this company and explain why it continues growing despite the plethora of controversies listed (some of which nothing short of being outrageous).
QNET was founded and is still under the stewardship of Dato Vijay Eswaran, a renowned philanthropist , author of numerous books as well as a keynote speaker at the Global Economic Forum for the past few years.. Vijay Eswaran has a very nice page on Wikipedia, while QNET is portrayed so negatively... All I was trying to do was to reconcile.. It is Vijaj Eswaran who signed an agreement with Sir Richard Branson (one of the wealthiest and most renowned entrepreneurs worldwide)regarding QNET's entry into the world of Formula One, there is alot of info about this from a variety of different sources, including news stations. Check this interview on ESPN sports. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tkfq1XLqD_8&feature=related http://www.ameinfo.com/qnet-sponsored-marussia-f1-team-car-stops-303970
In addition to sponsoring the Asian Football Championship, the Brazilian national team, QNET is now "the official direct selling partner of the Marussia F1 Virgin Racing Team", and that is a huge accomplishment for any company in any industry, as u know F1 is the single most expensive and prestigious sport in the world, we are talking about millions and millions of dollars in sponsorship a year, not many 13 year old companies can afford that!
This is a huge boost of credibility for the company, I wanted to put a picture of Dato Vijay Eswaran (the CEO of QNET and the QI GROUP as a whole) and Sir Richard Branson (CEO of Virgin GROUP) together celebrating the launch of this partnership. This made headlines on CNBC, Eurosport and many other news stations.
The current version of the QNET page doesnt say anything about the company's distinguished leadership, latest achievements, changes in compensation plan, and so on. Here are some things that I feel need to be stressed:
I have made an effort to establish a connection between QNET and the QI GROUP by linking the page to Dato Vijay Eswaran, (the CEO and founder of QNET and the whole conglomerate of which QNET is the flagship subsidiary) he has a very nice page on Wikipedia already.. Nobody made that connection so far
Also not enough is being said about RYTHM.. the way its just thrown in there is so brusque, without any context (the RYTHM is the mission of QNET, thats entirely missing).
In addition I had alot to say about the business model and the new compensation plan called QINFINITE, which
I really want to add a table outlining in brief the corporate profile. I noticed all other companies including Herbalife have this table on Wikipedia.
There are many important things I want to say that are easily verifiable.. How about this, you give me your email and I send you the FULL thing I want to upload.. so far you havent seen the full thing because I was only able to update parts before you restored it to the default version..
Would that be ok? Please let me know. (Wikigeekpower (talk) 00:51, 23 August 2012 (UTC)).

editI believe that those were the result of emptying categories out of process. So even if there is agreement, these need to be discussed at CfD. Vegaswikian (talk) 19:55, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
- If these were from old discussions, then the instructions say:
- Once the renaming has been completed, copy and paste the listing to the Ready for deletion section of Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Working/Manual.
- That removes them from the general catch all that causes some of us to look for unexplained emptying. Vegaswikian (talk) 20:30, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

Re your BOTREQ about populating Category:Transport infrastructure by year of completion
editHi Pichpich, I noticed that your botreq was moved to the archive without any action being taken. Does it still need action?
I should be able to code something up in the next few days. Thanks, LegoKontribsTalkM 22:44, 1 September 2012 (UTC)
- Excellent! After the request was archived I had sort of resigned myself to do it manually (though I probably would never find the patience). It would be great if you can code this and if you have any questions or need help verifying the bot's work, I'll be happy to help. Cheers, Pichpich (talk) 05:15, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
- Few questions:
- What year should it start? 1800? 1900? (I think the botreq specified 1900)
- What should the bot do if Category:Railway stations opened in XXXX (or whatever) doesn't exist? Should it create the category? Or merely skip adding it? (The latter is what I have coded right now)
- Thanks, LegoKontribsTalkM 06:29, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
- In the original botreq I said 1900 with the idea that it would be a trial run. But on second thought, not much can go wrong so starting in 1800 makes sense. Prior to that most of the subcategories get really sparse anyways (airports, railways, stations). For the second question, empty things like "Category:Railway stations opened in XXXX" should just be skipped. Even if you created them they would be deleted within a week as empty categories. Thanks again for doing this. Pichpich (talk) 16:16, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Casinos by year category
editActually, casinos by year of establishment is probably a very bad idea. Since for many, the building exists but there was only a change of name or ownership. For most casinos the year that the casino first opened, is well documented, at least for modern casinos. Clearly The D Las Vegas was built in 1979 and this is the fourth name or so to grace the entrance. Now, if you also want to add an established category for each name, that would seem reasonable, but to avoid confusion and retain accuracy, that would need to be placed on the various redirects. The more these established categories appear, the more confusion we are going to have. The building tree and the established trees do not intersect and for the most part don't overlap. The established tree does not handle the case where a hotel opens, adds a tower 10 years later and then another tower 14 years after that. Clearly there are three structures that were completed in specific years and something was established in only one year. If you look at established for hotels, what exactly what does that mean? When the building was established as a hotel or when the current name was established? The entire established tree has issues like this. So clearly if the established categories are useful, then both should exist. What I would change for hotels completed, is to not include established in as a parent category. Fehser Spam
editTx for your contribution in de:WP:FZW. Because we cannot lock all websites about legal matter and there are one-purpose-Accounts, I proposed to the blacklisting of all of his websites. I hope this will be done. I do not know, if this covers :en too, or if there is a separate Spam-Blacklist in :en:Wikipedia? I think a blacklisting is the only permanent solution for this matter. - Andy king50 (talk) 06:38, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

editI closed the CfD Aug 13 discussion on Category:Legal buildings in London as no consenus, without prejudice to a fresh nomination. The discussion had been open too long to justify relisting, but it had stalled over a month ago.

Why did you remove the category from its main article? Tom Danson (talk) 16:46, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
- I had no idea that I had but I think I know what happened. Have you ever used Wikipedia:HotCat? (otherwise, you won't understand what I mean) I was probably trying to get to Category:Indoor Football League (to categorize Category:Cedar Rapids Titans players) and accidentally hit the (-) button next to it. In any case, thanks for letting me know. I've rollbacked the edit. Cheers, Pichpich (talk) 17:05, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

HI
editHi Pichpich, please could you tell me if there's a detector of misspellings and disambiguations for editions of the articles here in wikipedia?, I can't find in "my preferences". Could you help me to set that if it exist?. Thanks for your answer.--Antodeabout (talk) 18:43, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
- To be honest, I'm not sure that I know what you're talking about. DPL bot (talk · contribs) is a very helpful bot that leaves messages to editors who have accidentally linked to a disambiguation page. I see that you have had two of these already and I get them periodically. I think it's a pretty neat solution to the problem but as far as I know, there is no preference setting that would give you an immediate alert. The same is true about spellchecking: this isn't implemented in preferences and it's unlikely that it ever will be. I don't know what browser you are using but most of them integrate spellchekers and some have simple dictionary switchers which could be handy in your case since I'm guessing you also write in Spanish. I hope that helps but let me know if you have further questions. Best, Pichpich (talk) 19:42, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for your answer. Yes I was talking about spellchecking. Yes I also know spanish and sometimes I translate some information from spanish sources. I use internet explorer and sometimes mozilla firefox, how could I get spellchekers there?. Thanks again.--Antodeabout (talk) 20:20, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
- In Firefox, you have to get two types of add-ons: the dictionaries and the dictionary switcher. In your case one of the Spanish dictionaries (for instance Spanish), one of the English dictionaries (for instance [3]) and a switcher such as this one. Install them as add-ons, restart Firefox and now customize the toolbar so that it includes the dictionary switcher. That allows you to change dictionaries with a single click and most of the time the switcher will automatically detect the language used. Pichpich (talk) 20:36, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
- Ok thank you for your help and indications.--Antodeabout (talk) 20:45, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

Please don't add new nominations of similar categories to old entries as you did there, there, there and there for example. As you know entries have to be on the page before they can be processed, and this could be seen as gaming the system. Thanks. Armbrust The Homonculus 10:43, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oh come on. It's hard to imagine a request more uncontroversial than fixing a dash issue in a subcategory of Category:Bilateral relations. In fact I've already nominated tens of these categories over the last few weeks without encountering the slightest bit of resistance. Moreover these extra nominations were added a few hours apart. No one in their right mind would view this as gaming the system. On the other hand separating these nominations into little individual pieces is bureaucracy for the sake of bureaucracy. Pichpich (talk) 16:18, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
- I don't think 3 hours is few. Also in this you added one more 13 hours latter. Armbrust The Homonculus 16:37, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
- Look, if you don't like it, just bump them up the list. And if you still don't like it then please go through Category:Bilateral relations of Argentina, Category:Bilateral relations of Austria, Category:Bilateral relations of Armenia and so on and clean this up yourself. Nominating all of these is not even doable in less than three hours. Pichpich (talk) 16:46, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Onegin (film poster).png)
editThanks for uploading File:Onegin (film poster).png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:10, 29 November 2012 (UTC)

editThe article you speedy-deleted on charges of copy violation was in fact my own translation from a Spanish language source, but not in its entirety, and does not constitute copyright violation. I intended to return and add references later.Crock81 (talk) 00:25, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
- Well, its gone now because I was never given a chance to oppose deletion due to call of nature - need for sleep! I think tagging it for speedy deletion was in error, and will not cause me to redo the entire article. Crock81 (talk) 02:29, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, it was a translation from a Spanish source. I saw that. But a direct translation from a Spanish source is still a copyright violation because it's a derivative work. Pichpich (talk) 14:36, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
