FYI...

Your post at Talk:Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting is missing its time stamp. I see that you are a somewhat new editor - I can add the time stamp to your post if you wish on that article talk, but if you'd rather do it yourself that's fine. I just thought you'd want to know. Time stamps keep talk pages with their replies & posts & threads in order and help archiving bots work correctly. Shearonink (talk) 05:17, 20 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks appreciate the reminder I’ll go add it. Plectiscus (talk) 12:19, 20 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Steven Anderson (Disambigation)

edit

A tag has been placed on Steven Anderson (Disambigation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please don't do that

edit

Please don't turn disambiguation pages into redirects like you did here. Thanks. Counterfeit Purses (talk) 18:42, 22 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ok but doesn’t it make sense if there’s only two results and one is significantly more well known than the other? Plectiscus (talk) 18:47, 22 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
No. Counterfeit Purses (talk) 19:01, 22 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Aight sure. Plectiscus (talk) 03:25, 23 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

April 2024

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Jungle style. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. –Novem Linguae (talk) 07:08, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I tried to merge them first but it wouldn’t let me as the Jungle style page already existed (as a redirect) and so I guess you can’t move pages to something that already exists, so I just used copy and paste. Thanks for pointing this out. Plectiscus (talk) 16:29, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please avoid copy paste in the future for the reasons described above (mainly that it erases the history tab). You can post at WP:RMTR to ask for help. Thank you. –Novem Linguae (talk) 20:37, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:February 29 births

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Category:February 29 births requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2006 March 29#Births by month and day. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
