Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Wild Wild West, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Robert Horton (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:05, 18 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I wanted to let you know that your recent edit(s) to the It's a Wonderful Life plot summary have been removed because they added a significant amount of unnecessary detail. Please avoid excessive detail and high word counts when editing plot summaries/synopses. You may read the plot summary edit guides to learn more about contributing constructively to plot summaries/synopses. There are also specific guidelines for films, musicals, television episodes, anime/manga, novels and non-fiction books. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 19:16, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making changes to plot summaries/synopses that conflict with the plot summary edit guides, as you did at It's a Wonderful Life. You may wish to review the specific guidelines for films, musicals, television episodes, anime/manga, novels and non-fiction books. Excessive detail and high word counts should be avoided. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 00:50, 7 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Particularly, any analysis, including scientific accuraccy of a work of fiction, should be attributed to a reliable secondary source. DonQuixote (talk) 15:59, 4 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I did that and the link to that page was deleted from Wikipedia for lack of sources. I have no vested interest in the page -- in fact it was bloated and dominating the Wild Wild West page, but it was not flagged when it lived on the WWW page. Wondering why now?Plummer (talk) 02:25, 15 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from The Wild Wild West into Gadgets in The Wild Wild West. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:54, 14 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Are you serious? Really? I can't add any edits to the plot for the movie? What did you do that for? Huh? Christopher K. Howell (talk) 03:42, 19 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

The movie obviously takes place in New York and involves the NYPD and the Lexington Avenue line. Plummer (talk) Plummer (talk) 13:32, 19 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

"Plot bloat" at It's a Wonderful Life

edit

Hi, I'm disappointed that you undid my edit. Sam Wainwright wasn't mentioned in the plot section otherwise and you removed the only sentence about him. pbp 14:23, 21 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

I've been a victim of this, too, so please don't take it personally. According to Wikipedia practices, a plot summary should run between 500 and 700 words. Right now it's pushing the limit at 697. I know it's a beloved movie, but Sam Wainwright is just not as critical to the summary as the other characters and events. Plummer (talk) 17:12, 21 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

File:HSApolloMinksy.jpg Where was this taken from? Relevant as if it was printed in 1928 or 1927 it would be public domain, 1929 or later it would not be. Reconrabbit 21:16, 7 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

The caption says 1928, so it was identified. The source is The Billboard, Vol. 40 Issue 30 July 28, 1928 page 34. Plummer (talk) 17:50, 8 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I wasn't sure if the caption was added afterwards. I'll update the description of the image. Reconrabbit 19:00, 8 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! DoctorMatt (talk) 07:10, 11 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
