Podruznik
Welcome
editHello, Podruznik, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits to the page Table Mountain (Butte County, California) have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.
There is a page about the verifiability policy that explains the policy in greater detail, and another that offers tips on the proper ways of citing sources. If you are stuck and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}}

I am the source! Podruznik (talk) 17:27, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Unless you published a news article about Table Mountain or wrote a book about it that is not good enough. You could very well be lying and Table Mountain might not even exist for all we know. Please cite refferences or sources to establish notability of the article. Thank you.Calaka (talk) 09:58, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
I live by it, and go there all the time! And they filmed some scenes for Klansman there! I'll see if I can find something though! Podruznik (talk) 18:52, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Still, we need proof as we can't take a random person from the internets word for it. But yeah, if you can find something about it, that would be great! Kind regards! :)Calaka (talk) 08:13, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Images And Infoboxes
editI am having some trouble with my images and infobox! Just the image link shows, but not the image! And all my infobox information isn't showing! It's on my edit page, but is not on the actual article! If anyone can help me, please do so! Thankyou! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phantom_Falls http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camuy_caves

Thanks! But there was nothing there about images in infoboxes, so I have no idea! 01:10, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Phantom Falls
editA word to the wise: please don't revert someone's good-faith edits without explaining yourself. I used an edit summary to explain the reason for my edit. If you want to say more than will fit in the edit summary window, then the article's talk page is at your disposal. (Or you could leave a message at my talk page.
I know you're new here but want to do the right thing. My edit to Phantom Falls was intended to enhance the article's clarity and readability by correcting some awkward grammar. If you disagree with me, fine—we can discuss it—but reverting without explanation is a bit impolite and unhelpful. How do you think we should proceed now? Rivertorch (talk) 06:18, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Nope :)
editYour article needs some serious work first. It's not very wikified and even contains some inaccuracies. You're not just reverting my work on the article, but everyone else's too. Try and get me blocked if you feel like you need to. ;) Buddy23Lee (talk) 23:27, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- Why don't you just add your content to the current page instead of reverting the whole thing back to the beginning? It's not like all of your info is bad, you just need to format it for wikipedia. :) Buddy23Lee (talk) 23:45, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
- What do you want to see included in the article? I'd even be glad to add it myself if I knew what you thought was missing. We just need to remember that all of the content needs to be verifiable. I had to take out a lot of your original article because there were no sources and citations to back it up. I know it doesn't seem like there is a lot of content, but I'm sure that if we can document where it came from that it could stay on the page. Let me know. Buddy23Lee (talk) 00:09, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

editPlease do not attack other editors, as you did at User talk:Buddy23Lee. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Jamesofur (talk) 23:46, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Bald_Rock,_California. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Please stop reverting or you WILL be blocked for violating the 3RR rule, I will be warning the other user as well. If you have a problem with the article bring it to the talk page Jamesofur (talk) 23:48, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you add inappropriate external links, as you did with this edit to Bald Rock, California. NW (Talk) 23:48, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

What happend to Freedom Of Speech?! He has the right to revert my edits, but I dont have the right to be angry! He even said I can go ahead and add my stuff, and then he deleted it when I did! If I'm blocked, then he should be blocked too, because he started it! Now I know why my History teacher hates Wikipedia, because assholes like him!
Decline reason:
Please show this to your History teacher, and perhaps he or she can explain to you how "Freedom Of Speech" does not require Wikipedia to provide a platform for personal attacks. Or even better -- call your History teacher an asshole, and see how far that gets you. --jpgordon::==( o ) 00:54, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
How dare you call my History teacher an asshole! She's the kindest person ever! She wouldn't think it was fair that that asshole deleted my article! So you people are assholes!
- Podruznik: I understand that you're upset, but you have to remember that I didn't delete your article, I just absorbed it into what is now the current page. I personally would've liked to keep all the info that your original article contained, but there were no sources to back it up (Just like what Calaka was talking about in one of your above conversations.) We can only keep the stuff that has sources/references on Wikipedia. What other stuff from your article did you want to keep anyway? The info about the wildlife? the info about the trails? or the story about the "demon"? If you let me know I can try to search for sources backing that stuff up so we can try to keep it on the page. Buddy23Lee (talk) 05:02, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
- What's the name of the book? Maybe I can help look it up to cite. If you want to cite the info yourself, just put it in this format:
| last = | first = | authorlink = | title = | publisher = | language = | year = | pages = | isbn =
- and put it into {{ }} and reference brackets. If you try it and it doesn't look right, me or someone else can fix it for you. We just need to show where your info comes from! :) Buddy23Lee (talk) 23:30, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
- Hey that's a good start. Now all we need to know is the name of the author of the article on Bald Rock and the date of the Magazine. It will end up looking something like this:
References
editBreyer, Stephen (October 2006), "Hike Bald Rock", Adventure Magazine: Page 31
Then we just need to know what the article told you so we can cite the sentences with that reference. That should be pretty much it. So what parts of your story did the magazine article tell you about? Buddy23Lee (talk) 00:27, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
- OK, So just let me know the name of the author of the article and the date of the magazine (like what month was that issue) and I'll work on it tomorrow and see if we can include and properly cite some of that info! ;) Buddy23Lee (talk) 00:46, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Chateau_de_mores_in_medora.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Chateau_de_mores_in_medora.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:27, 16 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 14:27, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Re: My Photos
editI'm sure they are, but please use a summary when uploading Your own images, like:
Description |
Theodore Roosevelt's Maltese Cross Cabin in Billings County & McKenzie County, North Dakota, US. |
---|---|
Source | |
Date |
01 September 2009 |
Author | |
Permission (Reusing this file) |
See below.
|
- Description: What is the work of?
- Date: When was the work made, or if you are uploading a photo, when was the photo taken?
- Other versions: Optional. List any other versions of this work that have been uploaded (for example, a cropped, brightened, darkened, etc. version of a photo).
- The "Source" and "Author" fields are automatically filled in for you.
This way other people know what the picture depicts. Do You know, that Wikimedia Commons is a collection of freely licensed images that are automatically available to all Wikimedia projects, such as Wikipedias in other languages. Best, feydey (talk) 15:45, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
- BTW, I moved File:Theodore Roosevelt's Maltese Croos Cabin, TRNP, ND.jpg to Wikimedia Commons. And yes use that big box that says description. feydey (talk) 15:52, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
- You should edit the images' description page to include the needed info, like for File:Bald_rock_rock_house.jpg - here; others here and here. No need to upload them again. feydey (talk) 07:45, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
Removing a deletion notice from an article you created
editPlease do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with The Black Cat (2008 Film). Rambo
editWelcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Rambo are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. Erik (talk | contribs | wt:film) 14:59, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
Did you even look at the changes I made before undoing my edit? All my changes involved fixing capitalization and spelling errors and making sure links went to the correct articles. Why would you revert to a version that reintroduces numerous errors to the article?--ShelfSkewed Talk 15:27, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
More on September 2009
editPlease read WP:OWN. You seem to have some ownership issues with your contributions to Wikipedia. Also, lay off the "Undo" feature unless you are reverting vandalism edits (and so far, you have not been dealing with vandalism edits). BTW, your contributions are good and useful, and I'm glad you're here to make them, but note that you are releasing your contributions to be further edited by others. Use edit summaries and the article talk pages to work with other editors (instead of against them) to further improve Wikipedia. Cheers! -- JHunterJ (talk) 20:42, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
Saving Work
editDude! If I'm working on an article and can't finish it at the moment, is it possible to save the article and work on it later?
- You can use a "user subpage" to save articles, if they are in such a state that you don't want to save it as a new version of the article yet. So if you're working on Phantom Falls and discover that you have to stop but don't want to save it, copy the text and edit User:Podruznik/Phantom Falls instead. Save that, come back later, and copy the text again back to a new edit on Phantom Falls. (And you can request speedy-deletion of your user subpage when you're done with it with a {{db-user}} tag.) -- JHunterJ (talk) 21:20, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

Phantom Falls (again)
editPodruznik, your most recent changes to Phantom Falls are completely unacceptable. I warned you before and you failed to respond. For the last time, you must follow Wikipedia style guidelines or else explain why not, and you must not revert other editors' good-faith improvements without explaining yourself. Because you have contributed the beginnings of useful content to the encyclopedia, I am cutting you considerable slack, but the next time you revert to an unencyclopedic version of the article with no explanation given, I will take action to ensure that it cannot happen again. Let's not step over that line, okay? You'll get along fine here if you observe some basic house rules, and that includes communicating substantively and respectfully with your fellow editors. We have gone out of our way to be helpful to you, and you are seriously disrespecting us in return. Rivertorch (talk) 03:56, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
(and again)
editYou're at it again. I explained to you the problem with your preferred wording and linked to that explanation in my edit summary. You, in turn, reverted using no edit summary and without replying to my explanation. My assumptions of good faith have limits. Last warning: use edit summaries, don't just revert—explain why, and stop treating it as if it's your article. Rivertorch (talk) 19:06, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Wild lupine on table mountain.JPG
editThanks for uploading File:Wild lupine on table mountain.JPG.
As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. What's the deal with your edits there? Do you just go there every few months and add another random animal? LP isn't a wildlife refuge like Butte College, and I've never seen any animal but birds and seeing-eye dogs on campus. So I don't know where you're getting this information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Baskilisk (talk • contribs) 21:11, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Purple sunset over kelly ridge.JPG
editThanks for uploading File:Purple sunset over kelly ridge.JPG.
Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Non-free use of File:Going wild with jeff corwin.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Going wild with jeff corwin.jpg. However, there is a concern that the use of the image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. Details of this problem, and which specific criteria that the image may not meet, can be obtained by going to the image description page. An administrator will review this file within a few days, and having considered the opinions placed on the image page, may delete it in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion or remove the tag entirely. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Moe ε 04:47, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
Re:
editFirst, you should have said that on the article's talk page, not on mine.
Look, I don't care which exact pictures will get into the article, as long as they're 1) of good quality and representative 2) of modest amount and well-fit into the article, which yours aren't. Wikipedia is not mere collections of photographs or media files with no text to go with the articles. If you are interested in presenting a picture, please provide an encyclopedic context, or consider adding it to Wikimedia Commons. After you added your holiday photos, we have 6 photos stacked on the right, 4 of them from the town, with relevant Diamantidis photo half a screen below the text. The article is now a state similar to a Facebook wall. So, go ahead, pick images of relevance to the text, and delete the rest (there already was too many even before you get along) and I won't object. I can't spend so much effort cleaning up after everyone's drive-by photo adding, which is not improving the quality of the encyclopedia. No such user (talk) 08:06, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The file File:Church in tecate, bc.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unused. Horrendous quality. Superseded by File:Parroquia (5625883935).jpg.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 11:40, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
