Positional references to illustrations

In this edit to Fabry–Pérot interferometer, you changed "figure to the right" to "figure above". Given that the relative positioning of the figures will vary depending on the screen size and whether one is viewing the page on a "regular" computer versus a mobile device, it is generally recommended that one adopt a relative-position-neutral means of referring to a specific figure. I've tried using figure numbers in articles such as Interferometry, but numbers are very tedious to apply and to keep up. We don't yet have any means of automatically maintaining figure numbers, unfortunately. I don't have any good solution to offer. ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote.
