Fair use rationale for File:Marquardt_Corporation.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Marquardt_Corporation.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 01:12, 1 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of S. Carpilli Tinker

edit

The article S. Carpilli Tinker has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Ways to improve S. Carpilli Tinker

edit

Hi, I'm Astrocog. PollyKanter, thanks for creating S. Carpilli Tinker!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. You should spend some more time working on S. Carpilli Tinker, perhaps back in userspace, because it is likely to be deleted soon. A lot of this information looks like it is original research. Wikipedia requires 3rd party references. Good luck.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. AstroCog (talk) 02:29, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

S. Carpilli Tinker

edit

I have deleted this article because, as explained above, it is Wikipedia policy that articles about living persons must have at least one reliable source to confirm what they say. The only reference in your article which even mentions Tinker is a Wordpress entry, which is not considered a reliable source because there is no editorial control.

Before deleting the article, I have done considerable searching, including the library database Worldcat, to see whether I could find and add sources myself, but I found no trace of Tinker or his "Jurassic Technology, Incorporated" imprint. If he exists at all (and I must admit that his absence from the on-line contents lists of Verbatim and Ramparts, and the upper photograph, have my hoax-detector beeping) it does not seem that there is enough published material about him to satisfy Wikipedia's WP:Verifiability policy, summarised as "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source"; let alone the inclusion criterion, Wikipedia:Notability, which looks for references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject."

After a BLP-prod deletion of this type the article will be restored on request, either to me or at WP:REFUND, so that you can add references; but I would then nominate it at WP:Articles for deletion, which would start a discussion lasting, normally, seven days, to which you would be welcome to contribute.
