Kathleen Robb

Hello - the copyvio report is still connected with an old version of the article and I can't see how to rerun it for the current version - can you please take a look? Ta! Zeromonk (talk) 14:57, 8 August 2022 (UTC)

Ah - I've found how: https://copyvios.toolforge.org/?lang=en&project=wikipedia&title=Kathleen+Robb&oldid=&action=search&use_engine=1&use_links=1&turnitin=0 Now only showing as violation possible and most of the overlaps are job titles. Would be grateful for your removal of SD nomination and support to make a few more adjustments to improve the article. Zeromonk (talk) 15:01, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
@Zeromonk: whether the copyvio detector says 'possible' or 'likely' or whatever, isn't really the point; the fact remains that there are significant similarities in the text, with multiple sentences or sentence fragments appearing verbatim. Close paraphrasing is still a copyvio, AFAIK. I'm not sure why you're asking for Praxidicae to remove the speedy tag (after all, I put it there, and you can remove it yourself if you want), but I am saying I for one wouldn't. If the attending admin decides against it in the end, then so be it, but I think it's at least prudent to flag up this issue.
On a separate but related point, I've left a comment on your talk page about the way this AfC was handled, which still baffles me. Best, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:18, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
@DoubleGrazing: apologies for the way I've handled this, it was with genuine good intentions but I can see that it has been less than ideal! I believe you have not yet seen my reply and apologies on your talk page. Sorry all. Any advice on how to proceed to make improvements to the article would be gratefully received. Zeromonk (talk) 15:26, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
@Zeromonk From my side we're good; just a bit of cross-purposes. I'm still going to leave the speedy request there, though. If someone else wants to remove it, be my guest. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 15:34, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
@DoubleGrazing thanks! I think it'll be most appropriate for me to leave the request too for a third party to assess. Hopefully they will see this context (see also my Talk page with explanation!) and help / make recommendations. Thanks all for your patience with this and sorry again! Zeromonk (talk) 15:38, 8 August 2022 (UTC)

Walled garden?

I think we may be dealing with a walled garden. Please let me know if you need more info. I respect your work as an editor - for a long time, altho we have never had an actual conversation to my memory. Netherzone (talk) 23:57, 7 August 2022 (UTC)

Thanks! You mean with this? If so, I didn't look that hard, I just saw the raging advertisement and tagged. PRAXIDICAE🌈 23:58, 7 August 2022 (UTC)
Have a look at the creators articles, they all (or many) promote one single person. If you have the time have a look at who shot the pix on those articles. Just a hunch, but it's pretty strong. Netherzone (talk) 00:04, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
I saw your CSDs, thank you! I've tagged ten other creations with COI as part of the WP:WALLEDGARDEN. Netherzone (talk) 16:16, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
Yeah I'm slowly working my way through. It's pretty telling that they've all been deleted from itwiki too. PRAXIDICAE🌈 16:17, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
And then there are the photos, along with multiple scans of newspaper articles uploaded as "own work". I'll start tagging the pix. Netherzone (talk) 16:20, 8 August 2022 (UTC)

Recession

I am unsure why my edit for recession was reverted Eastonio Thomasito (talk) 19:40, 8 August 2022 (UTC)

It's explained on the talk page, your talk page and in the edit summaries. I will not discuss it further here. Your only option is to gain consensus with SOURCES on the talk page of the article. PRAXIDICAE🌈 19:42, 8 August 2022 (UTC)

Why leaving Nyombi Morris Page in draft

He Praxidicae, I hope you are doing something better for his page but not deleting it, yesterday I discovered that Nyombi's Wikipedia page wasn't visible on google, I went ahead to check on it via Wikipedia and it was no were to be seen, till I saw that you dropped in a draft, we are not sure why my question is what are your plans? and how long will it be in the draft? Following you around

I had a small chuckle at this warning you left on a user talk page. It occurred to me that I also "follow you around" quite a bit, but in my case it's because you tend to leave behind you a trail of work for administrators to pick up! ~Anachronist (talk) 04:36, 9 August 2022 (UTC)

Draft: Raken (software)

Hi, my submission https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Raken_(software) was recently not accepted for being “not adequately supported by reliable sources” and “appears to read more like an advertisement.” I would like to get some feedback on which sources are considered unreliable, as I made sure to check that all websites cited have been used as citations in other published Wikipedia pages. Also I'd like to know which portions of the page read as an advertisement so they can either be removed or rewritten. Thanks for your help! Jvolza (talk) 15:39, 9 August 2022 (UTC)

2022 Crypto Crash

Hey, I was just curious why you reverted my edits on the page about cryptocurrency bubbles? You said they were overlinked (though only 2 of them were linked to the same website) and irrelevant when I was showing companies that halted trading as a result of extreme market conditions as well as other events putting pressure on the consumer and weaken opinions on companies like hacks. Just curious why you reverted those edits.

Spam designation of ImmunoFrontiers

So I'll be honest, I had no idea why you thought that website was "spam" specifically, and why you seemed pretty convicted about that. I've been scratching my head the last couple days. I expected that you were somehow at odds with the content change and the site specifically was just an excuse, but it turned out you literally just didn't like the site? On a whim I just turned off adblock. Ah... haha... it all makes sense now. Yes, the site looks very spammy. Not just a little bit, but a lot. My apologies. --Elephanthunter (talk) 16:55, 9 August 2022 (UTC)

An easy way to tell whether something like that is spam is also by searching the content, it's usually scraped from other sites, though in this case, I looked at their "following" and registration date(s) and it's pretty evident from that alone it's both spam and unreliable. I have adblock on so I'm not sure what you're seeing but I'll take your word for it. PRAXIDICAE🌈 16:58, 9 August 2022 (UTC)

Hello, I noticed you whole-sale reverted my edits on the page, most of which was removal of unsourced/unreliable information. Please check the sources for yourself, most of them either do not support the statements made or are dead links. Chrisanthusjohn (talk) 18:41, 10 August 2022 (UTC)

I restored sourced information - there is no indication that the sources you removed except Medium are unreliable. I suggest you stop and get consensus about the other sources at WP:RSN and on the talk page before your remove content again. Dead links are also not a reason to remove - we have archive.org for a reason. PRAXIDICAE🌈 18:42, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
Dude, please check the sources. None of them load the article. They are dead links. Chrisanthusjohn (talk) 18:52, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
What part of "we do not remove dead links simply for being dead" is unclear to you, @Chrisanthusjohn? WP:DEADLINK. I was able to find all of the sources in the archive with one click. I suggest you find our relevant policy on this and read it. PRAXIDICAE🌈 18:54, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
(by talk reader) @Chrisanthusjohn: WP:DEADLINK. Chris Troutman (talk) 18:55, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
More specifically Wikipedia:Citing_sources#Preventing_and_repairing_dead_links Do not delete a citation merely because the URL is not working. Dead links should be repaired or replaced if possible. If you encounter a dead URL being used as a reliable source to support article content, follow these steps prior to deleting it: PRAXIDICAE🌈 18:56, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
Ah okay, my mistake. Please add the archive links then. I'm not sure how to. Chrisanthusjohn (talk) 18:56, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
@Chrisanthusjohn but this doesn't explain your insistence that the sources you're removing are inherently unreliable. You said they're unreliable and dead links. So you need to explain on the talk page of the article where I've opened a discussion. PRAXIDICAE🌈 18:58, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
@Chrisanthusjohn: While it is up to Praxidica to say whether being referred to as a "dude" is OK or not, I do note that the many number of times she has been addressed as "Respected Sir" did have had the benefit of least being being 50% right.--Shirt58 (talk) 10:02, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
Ah, sincere apologies. Didn't mean to misgender. I use "guys" and "dude" as gender-neutral terms in my everyday speech but I can see how that could be problematic. Chrisanthusjohn (talk) 14:43, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

Animal Farm

Hi, you were fast! It has taken you 8 minutes to revert my edit as 'not neutral'. Have you ever read Soviet-era poems praising Stalin? Minimus' poem 'Comrade Napoleon' is an exact copy of them. 'Napoleon's favourite sow' is 'not neutral'? Ask publishers to edit Chapter X of the book. Doctor Gregory (talk) 22:14, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

Still, countless Soviet poets willingly or unwillingly did so, and Orwell skilfully imitated their style and language. is not neutrally written. Period. PRAXIDICAE🌈 22:15, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
It is a fact, though. --Doctor Gregory (talk) 22:18, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
According to who? Who said these exact words? PRAXIDICAE🌈 22:19, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
Seems you are not familiar with Soviet poetry of that time. I presume a 'sow' is also not neutral, period? Doctor Gregory (talk) 22:23, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
It seems you do not understand the policy of summarizing what reliable sources say in a neutral manner. I'm not interested in continuing this discussion with you here. PRAXIDICAE🌈 22:23, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

Eric Nam Page

Hi Praxidicae, I'm confused as to why you are reversing my edits on Eric Nam's page. I have disclosed my affiliation since you made me aware of the requirement, but NONE of the edits I have made have been promotional. In all cases I simply expanded upon and added context/sources to sections that were already existent on Eric's page. All additions to the page were also of public knowledge.

Could you please explain why this is seen as promotional?

Thank you Ednam100 (talk) 22:39, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

You need to request changes on the talk page, as you've done and wait for an editor who isn't affiliated with you or your client to respond. PRAXIDICAE🌈 22:40, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
Ok, thanks. Ednam100 (talk) 23:00, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. FAdesdae378 (talk · contribs) 23:19, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

CODIX

Hi Praxidicae, you may want to take a quick look at the above article which has just been created... you seem to have some history a couple of years back with its obviously COI creator. The article doesn't look any better to me now, and some other editors have also noticed that it just reads like a company's "about us" webpage and tagged it accordingly. All the sources are primary, being interviews with the company founders, or articles written by the company - CODIX even appear to be sponsor members of the FCI source, so definitely not independent. Return Nyombi Online

We don't understand why you want to keep nyombi's page in isolation, people have tried adding and removing all the so-called URLs you mentioned but we don't see his page is approved, you can't tell me someone who has been featured, on BBC, CNN, CBC News,Earth.Org, WION, Global Citizen, TRT World, TED, award winner, and has a verified Twitter account, but has a fake Wikipedia profile links, like seriously to me I see this has a sign of discrimination. which we don't want to see on the wiki. Accusation of bad faith at Talk:Herschel Walker

In response to this comment you made, I don't edit under an ideology on Wikipedia. Also you should not make misconduct accusations against other users in an article talk discussion. That's inappropriate conduct and only inflames content disputes and can be seen as uncivil. I would appreciate it if you struck the comment Iamreallygoodatcheckerst@lk 23:08, 15 August 2022 (UTC)

I stand by what I said, especially given other things on your talk page that make me less inclined to believe you are editing without an agenda. PRAXIDICAE🌈 23:08, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
If you don't think someone can mature or change from age 14, you'd be mistaken. Editing under an agenda is a serious accusation that should be substantiated, and you have no evidence of that. Iamreallygoodatcheckerst@lk 23:11, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
Sure, it can be substantiated by your many edits and the fact that the bulk of all your edits are to American politics, especially combined with statements from your userpage. Speedy deletion declined: Orkhan Mammadov

Hello Praxidicae. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Orkhan Mammadov, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: This is just not spammy. It's a short bio which is encylopedic, and then a short career history. He may well not be notable, but there's credible indication as president of the AZ Futsal assoc. Needs to go to AfD. Thank you. Nicosia Mall

Thanks for nominating Nicosia Mall for speedy deletion. I had done the same earlier, via NPP Page Curation, and tried to explain (here) to the article's creator about its promotional tone. Once it was REFUNDed, and tagged again, I removed the speedy tag so that I could then draftify the article, and potentially work with the editor on a nPOV, appropriately sourced article. You and I were clearly editing simultaneously at one point, both trying to remove the offending text (you won). Hopefully, the draftification will allow a more appropriate article to emerge. Best wishes. Paul W (talk) 15:26, 16 August 2022 (UTC)

You commented atThe Teahouse "The AFD process is optional but for COI editors and for articles that have been DELETED AT AFD, it is strongly encouraged to the point that we nearly require it." I think you meant "The AFC process is optional but for COI editors...." Regarding Draft:Islam Bornica

Hi Praxidicae! I did some digging, and it appears that Cironi (who also made a contested deletion at Draft:Islam Bornica 20 minutes after the block of Kada13) created their own version of the same article about 2 weeks ago here. I was trying to figure out if these two were related, but I think the recent edits might suggest more socking going on, but I wanted to double-check and see what your thoughts were before I tag the other article for G4 deletion. Her words: "Once more unsourced cruft". You cite no sources and what you're adding doesn't help explain what the game or its setting is in broad strokes. We are a general encyclopaedia. Details should be put on a Paladins-focussed wiki, if one exists (and I'm fairly certain one does). —Jéské Couriano v^_^v a little blue Bori 18:45, 5 August 2022 (UTC)

Okay wow, issues much? Anyone, as I was saying. You've got to be kidding me, the original version has zero sources itself, does a poor job of explaining things and outright says things that are false like the game having a sci-fi theme. Why was that original one even allowed in the first place? And what am I supposed to link to for in-game information? The Paladins wiki? I can't link to the game itself. No, the sources are still poor and as a paid editor you need to go through the review process and have someone who isn't being paid to write these articles actually review it. Thank you for your help!

Hello Praxidicae, I wanted to say thank you for posting constructive criticism on my draft for Sherwood Battle Brockwell for copyright so I had a chance to fix it. I first created that draft back in May when I was still very new to website (to be honest I still am) but I guess directly copied over too much information which I was blissfully unaware of while working on finding citations for the draft, which was the concern of the first editor User:Missvain who first denied the draft on account of notability (specifically lack of citations denoting some lack of notability). Hopefully now with my recent edits I have fixed both problems the draft had so that it can be accepted onto the mainspace. Thank you again for your time and help! 😁 Johnson524 (Talk!) 05:17, 18 August 2022 (UTC)

my botched edits to 'Permaculture'

Hi -- I'm a long time but infrequent editor. In creating my addition to the permaculture article I pressed the ENTER (return) key, which SUBMITted the edit before I was complete. The system correctly rejected it for a circular <ref>erence. I made the correction (to external documents), then submitted it.

You then rejected my edit, mentioning the original rejection criteria (bad reference really was a bad reference) I hope not having seen the subsequent edit.

SIGH then in my attempt to re-submit but with all this explained in the reason for edit field, I pressed ENTER again! Making it look like I was rudely undoing your rejection without reason or comment. That is definitely not my intent, and i apologize for the appearance of rudeness there.

This cascading foolishness on my part has generated all this noise... sorry about that. It's embarrassing. I hope no harm done, sorry to take up more time.

I looked at WP:ELNO but I can’t determine the reason that you believe the links to the European sport governing body and a legitimate news site sanctioned by the world governing body should not be listed. And having six external links at the end of the article is not excessive. The policy list of the type of links to avoid is lengthy, but I did not see one that applied here.Jeff in CA (talk) 01:36, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

Eydren

Greetings. I recently had an ad placed in an article that has been published for a month. It's from a reggaeton music producer and he's Venezuelan, therefore, I mostly create articles of this topic on Wikipedia in Spanish, but when I see that it has relevance or links in the Anglo-Saxon sphere, I create it on Wikipedia in English as well. I am surprised that the announcement is that it seems to be a paid article or something similar, when I mostly create articles of this nature without receiving anything in return, only the satisfaction of leaving the flag of my country Venezuela up high and highlighting the talent of emerging artists and Christian artists. I would like to know how I can do to solve this situation and remove that template. Thanks. ChuchoVCJMuzik (talk) 01:59, 19 August 2022 (UTC)

I see that you and I and others have been trying to deal with various forms of the name of this non-notable person. I will make a request for the title blacklist. Sometimes there is, and sometimes there isn't, a hyphen in the surname. Sometimes there is a stupid qualifier, like (Youtuber). You may know that putting an unnecessary qualifier after the subject's name is a spamming technique used to avoid the record of a previous deletion and possibly a previous salting. Neurofunk page

Most of the article is backed up by verified sources, including interviews, so it would make more sense to edit specific sentences instead of reverting the entire article? It's been up for several months now, and I was just trying to polish it then you came along and deleted the whole thing! Please state which specific sentences/references you have a problem with? I can try to cite further to sources to verify the facts. Gilius2k15 (talk) 19:42, 20 August 2022 (UTC)

, the sources you used are not reliable - they are social media, Reddit, youtube videos and yes, interviews from people who are not SMEs. Do not restore it. Read WP:RS thoroughly. o PRAXIDICAE🌈 19:42, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
At least 90% of sources are reliable and come from archive.com, for which wiki has an auto citation feature, hence satisfying their policy: "Published means any source that was "made available to the public in some form". I can replace the couple of YouTube/Reddit references if that's all it takes to not lose the bulk of the article? A couple of interviews were conducted by a Neurofunk Society of Poland who don't have a website, but there's no way the interviews were phony or anything like that. Again, it would be a shame to lose the article and all the hard work I put into it, so it would be more helpful if you could provide critique on a sentence-by-sentence basis. How about a call on Teams or Zoom? I already ommitted 2 sentences in my recent edits because they were not backed up by citations and more part of the "synthesis" (as you mention). The YouTube links were also to add context, so why not collaborate on tightening up loose ends? I'm new to Wiki and didn't realise it was so strict. Others were already helping to clean it up before you came and dismissed the whole thing out of hand, which is a bit harsh and unfair IMO. Nobody is perfect and I dare say no article on wikipedia is perfect either, including the general drum and bass page. Gilius2k15 (talk) 00:48, 21 August 2022 (UTC)

the community has endorsed… - I read the comment about “the organizations and business projects the community has endorsed” as meaning that they thought Wikipedia was somehow endorsing the subjects of articles, not that the community had endorsed their edits. kkk infobox

Hey I saw you undid my edit because you don't believe the kkk was a "militant" group thus shouldn't have a militant infobox. The KKK according to the article was a terrorist paramilitary group and most terrorist groups on wikipedia have a militant infobox. What would you prefer or think would fit the page? Every time I see the filter/tags for this, I become that much closer to becoming a troll instead of a mostly productive editor. It's mind boggling and infuriating that anyone thinks this is a good idea to encourage, much less offer fucking prizes. PICKLEDICAE🥒 21:54, 23 August 2022 (UTC)
I had to repeatedly remove mug shots from BLPs from multiple participants. The thought process in many cases appears to be "needs an image" followed by "here's an image" with no thought (or knowledge) as to whether it's policy compliant or improves the article. As long as there are prizes involved (including gift cards!?! Am I reading that right?) then it will always be quantity over quality. -- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:03, 23 August 2022 (UTC)

@Ponyo since we've gotten to the usual "AGF til we die" point in that thread, I think for the next one, I'll suggest we have Lugnuts help coordinate it, you know since we're allowing banned editors to coordinate these contests. At least Lugnuts is probably more competent.

Deleted my article for extremely dumb reasons

I recently created my first article, and it was deleted because it didn’t have anything that states how the person is notable. It clearly states that the person has over 700 thousand subscribers, which in my opinion is definitely enough to become notable. However, I got the extremely idiotic response that subscribers “mean nothing.” I get it if you don’t think they are grounds to a Wikipedia article but if you think they mean nothing you must have been hit on your head as a child. Subscribers determine how much people know/hear about a person which is directly correlated to how notable someone is. Yes subscribers can be bought/hacked but it is virtually impossible for someone to do that for 700 thousand of them, and if you look at his videos and comments you can clearly see that he definitely does have 700k real subscribers and that it is impossible that they are all hacked. He then said there was no reliable sources (literally sounding like the nerd emoji) when you can be notable without sources. He is a popular youtuber that a lot of people know about and are fans of but because some news company doesn’t take the time out of their day to write an article no one will read it means he’s not notable? In my opinion this guy’s account should be deleted not my article. Please reinstate my article or this will not be the last you hear from me. AwesomeIslander918 (talk) 17:59, 24 August 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia WP:Notability has nothing to do with subscriber counts and everything to do with in-depth coverage by reliable secondary sources. Your article completely lacked any reliable secondary sources, let alone in-depth coverage. -- ferret (talk) 18:05, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
@Ferret stupid reasons PICKLEDICAE🥒 18:11, 24 August 2022 (UTC)

You literally couldn’t be more wrong. The definition of notability is “ The state or quality of being eminent or worthy of notice.” And acquiring 700 thousand subscribers is definitely worthy of notice as you are developing a strong group of fans that support you. You don’t need to be a rocket science with a team of sources to see this. You are acting like the nerd emoji by keep saying how you need sources. A person can be notable without sources! Someone could create a large group of fans and have a large impact without someone making an article about them because they just haven’t done anything the news cares about. AwesomeIslander918 (talk) 18:20, 24 August 2022 (UTC)

WP:N. You're literally wrong here. Your YouTube friend isn't notable. And we don't accept articles without adequate sourcing. Period. You can continue to argue but you're just going to be ignored. PICKLEDICAE🥒 18:22, 24 August 2022 (UTC)

He’s not my friend. I’ve never met him. So you are gonna deny the global definition of notoriety because of some companies stupid guidelines? Guide lines that allow articles on dumb theories no one cares about but can’t create articles about people who actually have an influence in this world. AwesomeIslander918 (talk) 18:25, 24 August 2022 (UTC)

Yes because you don't know the difference between notoriety and notability, @AwesomeIslander918. PICKLEDICAE🥒 18:28, 24 August 2022 (UTC)

Mostly-unsourced article

Editor @jaydenstyy, who you have had some interaction with, has seen many of his articles rightly draftified. I see that article Alex Abrahantes, in mainspace, was tagged for no sources. Now it has a few sources, but also entire unsourced sections. I haven't quite learned the right way to tag these, and maybe this one should be draftified.

On his talk page, he basically says that he hasn't added many sources because they are hard to find for some of his subjects. He doesn't seem to grasp that a dearth of sources means no article. 71.228.112.175 (talk) 02:23, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

Trips to ANI

Your problem is that you see crud in article space that doesn't belong in article space and tag it for speedy deletion. The alternatives would be to draftify the crud, which gives the spammer the choice of move-warring, or to send it to AFD, which is work for the reviewer. It appears that most reviewers prefer to draftify. Draftification, AFD, or speedy deletion are valid options for crud that doesn't belong in article space. Sp the reason you get dragged to ANI is that you have the silly idea that G11 and A7 are meant to be tagged when appropriate. Carry on. Robert McClenon (talk) 04:59, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

Fall (2022)

Hi Praxidicae, I was wondering why you're undoing my edits to Fall 2022. I was trying to add more detailed plot after watching the movie like I've seen in many other articles. I love when wikipedia articles explain plots in detail, especially for scarier movies that I don't want to watch in full, so I was trying to do the same. I also added some specific details about the climbing in the movie since I was initially confused on how the characters got into a few situations from just the trailer. Climbin11 (talk) 16:18, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

read MOS:PLOT - the bulk of the article should not be a plot summary. Stop adding it. PICKLEDICAE🥒 16:19, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
It was longer than the guide says to make it in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Writing_about_fiction#Contextual_presentation, so I can cut it down, but I otherwise thought it followed the guide because there were a lot of elements that didn't make sense (like how the characters had bad falls and it was hard to pull them up because they weren't tied in in a standard way) without more detail. Climbin11 (talk) 16:28, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
The current plot is adequate and I suggest leaving it alone. We don't need every detail, it's a Wikipedia article, it's not meant to be primarily about the plot. PICKLEDICAE🥒 16:30, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
It's a film partially about climbing and I'd at least like to add a few details explaining what the characters were doing even if my original plot edit was too long. A lot of the stuff in the film was unrealistic and unsafe so it'd be good to redirect people to pages describing the climbing techniques the film tried to portray. Climbin11 (talk) 16:43, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
No, that isn't what Wikipedia is for. PICKLEDICAE🥒 16:44, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
I can't say "Dan's [cam] placement popped" and link the word "cam" to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring-loaded_camming_device? Climbin11 (talk) 16:50, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
No, please read WP:NOR and WP:RGW. PICKLEDICAE🥒 16:51, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
I promise I won't die on this hill and I'm sorry for extending this discussion, but saying his cam popped isn't original research because the device he placed is a cam and "popped" is a standard term for what the camera showed where his cam device was yanked out of the wall. I'm also not trying to right a wrong by adding "that was unsafe and he shouldn't have done it"; I just want to link to the page for cams or trad climbing from a movie that showed those things as important plot points. Climbin11 (talk) 16:58, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
WP:DUE also applies - are sources discussing this extensively? If not, it's trivial. PICKLEDICAE🥒 17:00, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
The cam was shown clearly multiple times in the beginning sequence and played an important role in the disaster that setup the rest of the film. I don't understand how that's a minority viewpoint that WP:DUE applies to. Climbin11 (talk) 17:10, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
Unless sources say this, it doesn't matter. PICKLEDICAE🥒 17:11, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
{{re|Climbin11}} that’s correct, we need reliably published sources. Doug Weller talk 17:20, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

Arabic Maps

Hello. Hope you're well. You reverted an edit I made to Arabic on the grounds that consensus had not yet been reached. My take is this: The edit could have been made boldly without first seeking consensus. Lack of consensus isn't a reason to prevent an edit when there's not yet a dispute. I solicited input one week ago because I can see that the page has had a somewhat contentious past & I wanted to attempt a discussion before doing something I thought might be controversial. In that week, there has been no explicit objection to removing the maps. Within the first six hours of my posting on the Talk page, there was one comment which implied that I got one of my facts wrong. On the same day, I showed that comment to be based on an error. The editor who made the comment has not replied, but has made 129 edits in the seven subsequent days—and, again, that comment was not even an explicit objection. I know that participation in the conversation has been light, but I really have tried to make this change thru a good faith process. If you think that something more needs to happen, or if you have a content-related objection to removal of the maps, I'd appreciate it greatly if you'd say so on the Talk page so that we can have a real discussion. Thanks, & take care! Pathawi (talk) 17:39, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

No consideration of a reliable cited source?

You made this edit Ritez (talk) 17:26, 25 August 2022 (UTC)

I suggest you start getting consensus on teh talk page before continuing to edit because you're getting awfully close to getting blocked for edit warring and DS/GS sanctions. PICKLEDICAE🥒 17:28, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
@Praxidicae Power (of admin'ship) should be accompanied with responsibility (of preserving the truth). Ritez (talk) 17:31, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
Adminship is irrelevant - and you need to read WP:RGW because it doesn't appear you're here to constructively contribute outside of your own POV pushing agenda. PICKLEDICAE🥒 17:48, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
@Praxidicae WP:RGW says, ...because we can only report what is verifiable from reliable and secondary sources,...you'll have to wait until it's been reported in mainstream media or published in books from reputable publishing houses. All of these criteria are fulfilled in the edit under consideration. Therefore, the edits may please be restored back. Ritez (talk) 18:04, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
