Hello,

I had way too many links removed from my page. Please put them back as I am planning to describe the Four Initiatives Pomnyun Sunim is trying to establish with Jungto Society. Hello, I need some help with understanding the vandalism piece. The dialog I had put on there is a true story, but the only source I could find was “”jungto.org.” I know the Wikipedia website looked like a gray block mess, but I was unsure of any other way to present this. I will not add that dialog. I was just trying to show that moment between Venerable Pomnyun and his teacher. It's on the Jungto.org website under Introduction to Pomnyun so I am unsure how that counts for vandalism? Also, I am in kind of a hurry because Venerable Ponyun is giving talks in Europe and the United States this month. Sorry for being so rash with the changes, but this is generally the first source that English speakers go to for information and this page was kind of sparse and left out a lot of stuff. You can compare it with the Korean Wikipedia for Pomnyun, which has a lot of his awards and achievements there. In regards to the Yongseong link, I will try to find a better credible source. I was doing the editing from my computer at work and couldn't access all the websites I needed to due to a firewall on the Korean Buddhist website. Also, the Yongseong and Paik Yonsung are the same people.

@Yamla: Sorry, Sorry, I am new at this. This is actually the first time I am editing on Wikipedia and I admit that I am not great at this. I will slow down and use the talk function more often prior to making edits. [1]. I will avoid copying from other websites and will consult on how to cite sources if needed. [2] I am sorry for the ignorant plagiarism. I really tried my best to cite the source and dialog, but it was a bit over my head in terms of skill as a rookie on this site figuring out how to cite direct quotations into Wikipedia, such as this:[3].

I am willing to learn or step aside and ask for assistance. @Yamla: I am really giving it my best shot here. I have not designed web pages before, but hopefully this shows that I am trying to figure these things out. Honestly, it was kind of fun learning about these things with the excellent guides that Wikipedia provides. Thank you for the inquiry.

1) Truthfully, the first thing was that I didn't do was read the guidelines. I will reference the guidelines on how to make changes to wikipedia pages Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia.

2) I didn't do a great job referencing material. I will use the talk function to discuss sources that could be referenced. Also, I will make sure the referenced sources are academic or direct sources based on the guidelines on Wikipedia:Citing sources. No more copying and pasting without direct reference. No more referencing from other information sources like https://namu.wiki/ based on the guidelines specified on WP:USERGENERATED.

3) When an editor messages me, I am now aware how I can respond to an editor in a timely manner and will be mindful of the alert badge Help:Notifications. Prior to the block, I was making a lot of changes without paying attention to the alert badge. I think doing any changes slowly and with consultation should help with this.

4) I didn't know how to do a quote box. I also didn't consult with anyone on whether it would have been a good quote to add as well. I know how to use the quote box now based on this template Template:Quote box.

5) I was told to not make Wikipedia a collection of links so I will avoid adding lots of links on the webpage. As it was explained to me, Wikipedia is not an advertisement site, and it was meant to be used as a neutral encyclopedia site. Psychroanoker (talk) 05:22, 25 January 2024 (UTC)
