Logos

Remember when Wikipedia changed its logo? Some of them still use the old one, mind, but this here en, this is all different-like. Likewise, Uncyclopedia changed its logo as well, just kind of... in the opposite direction. Sort of. It was a lot more fudged-like. And emc still wants a vector version, I have no idea how to do that. Doesn't help that the main problem with the entire thing seems to be a lack of texture, either, especially since texture is something svgs utterly suck with...

Actually it's the work IT security policy. Can access Wikipedia but not Uncyclopedia. So I write it all here and then move it over. As for vector version of the potato - I uploaded two a while ago. Problem is the image doesn't really work as vector - gradual gradation is fine, but the potato is an irregular shape. There are two versions uploaded with different levels of detail. The truth is while the image may have changed format slightly, the logo itself is still much as it was. I'll try and find those uploaded svg versions of Sophia another time if they're still needed and still there. PuppyOnTheRadio (talk)

Wikipedia:VPT#Suggested_edit_to_template_and_creation_of_tracking_category I hate to be a bother, but do you know if you can edit {{Rating}} as indicated at this thread? My fear is that this will be one of an indefinitely large number of requests that gets archived without ever being resolved. If you are willing and able to amend this for me, I greatly appreciate it. Which was my logic behind popping it in a template the first time. Besides, this is one of the least annoying sigs I've ever created. You should have a look at the 50 or so I've had elsewhere. Hey. I don't edit here much any more, as I've been advised fairly clearly that I'm not welcome. I also don't use this site for Uncyc related purposes, except in that I've used similar coding at both places, and I have updated the Uncyclopedia article being more knowledgeable on the topic than many other editors. You can locate me at mirror Uncyc where I'm now doing anything Uncyc related. I've started fixing the main page there (or parts of it at least) and working on making the mirror a more accurate mirror - just more inclusive. The server there makes the Uncyc one look high tech, and I think the version of mediawiki that is installed is an old one, but it works, and could be more useful with a bit of TLC. Isarra (known on Uncyc as Lyrithya) did ask Carlb to close it, but he's chosen not to. If we're going to have a mirror, it might as well br a decent one. Gotcha. To add insult to injury, some admins were saying that Mirror was anarchic in nature. Take Romartus, who said this:

There is a mirror version of Uncyclopedia that was supposed to be run as a back up by another user. That person has disappeared but the site remains and is run by a vandal (though they have no admin rights). That place is a warning to all who prefer a more anarchic approach, you end up with an unmitigated mess. ”

Romartus is right. The Mirror was abandoned and has been heavily vandalised. I'm going through and doing fixes a little at a time, so it will become an effective back-up. Currently there is one admin/crat there and one regular user, and fixing it is going to take a while.

However, all this is Uncyc business. That means it should be dealt with at Uncyc, the mirror, IRC, or email. Posting Uncyc related business here is counter productive. As for an appeal - it's nobody else's business but myself and Zombiebaron. I have written an apology at my talkspace at the mirror site. Your recent editing history at Uncyclopedia shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Uncyclopedia conflict of interest

Hey, I noticed your recent edits regarding Uncyclopedia. Given the contentious nature of the our situation and your particular closeness to the topic, there is a clear conflict of interest here. Basically this applies:

People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

But while it is possible to edit such articles despite being so close to the topic, your recent edits to it have indeed indicated your bias, and such does not help Wikipedia's neutral point of view - the same reason that I and others have also refrained from editing it, and I would strongly advise you to do so as well.

A good way to avoid biased editing (and also folks questioning the changes later), however, even without stepping away entirely, would be to propose any wanted changes on the talkpage instead, and if there is consensus, bring in someone uninvolved in the topic to make those changes for you, rather like described in Wikipedia:Third opinion, though in this case it's not a dispute so much between editors as wikis. Alternately stepping away from the article entirely does work well - just take it off your watchlist and forget about it.

You are the person responsible for creating the website en.uncyclopedia.co and maintain a controlling interest in it. You have also been instrumental in crwating propaganda that the site has “moved” rather than “forking”. Doesn't that then also put you in a position of extreme bias towards it as you have been using it as a form of advertising for a site you created?

The edits I've made have been to restore an NPOV. There are two sites that go by the name of Uncyclopedia (as an English version at least). Both sites should be represented in the article. The edits to remove one of the sites are designed to promote an individual site, which is counterproductive and non-neutral.

Given you have a financial interest in one of these sites I think it would be advisable for you to step away from that page. PuppyOnTheRadio talk 01:12, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

PuppyOnTheRadio: Actually there are hundreds of sites that call themselves uncyclopedia. You should include the mirror site and also that site that was started by some teenage girl which I have conveniently forgotten the link to, as well as unmeta and all the non-English-language sites. Which is why I referred specifically to English Uncyclopedia. The mirror site refers to itself as “Mirror Uncyclopedia”, and the meta site refers to itself as “Uncyclopedia Meta”. There are around 70-80 different sites that identify themselves as foreign language versions of Uncyclopedia, but the overwhelming majority of these refer to themselves by different names. The site started by a teenage girl is one I am unaware of - although it would be fascinating to know how much of the content of the site is related to the site created approximately 8 years ago. There are also sites like Zombiepedia thy are English language that are referred to as a foreign language Uncyclopedia, and Illogicopedia which is a different site altogether but similar in style to Uncyclopedia, and linked to from Uncyclopedia Meta. Some of the foreign language sites are inactive sites (in that there are no regular edits being made to the site.
