About the formation of Hamburger Arroganz

Dear User Qcne, Good evening!

I hope you have been doing very well!

I have to send the approval for the draft I edited, Hamburger Arroganz to get it created as an official article. As you commented on the draft which was made by the user, Tom Marx, I cited the information that has used for the article as precisely as possible by following the official regulations made by Wikipedia.

Therefore, I ask you to approve this article as soon as possible!

Hi @Albertb0513, please look at our notability criteria at WP:NMUSIC. Qcne (talk) 19:51, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
Dear user Qcne,
Good day!
I hope you have been doing very well!
I would like to let you know that I know the person who is in the band, Thomas Marx because we live together. If it is anything needed about the document about the discography, I am eager to include it as soon as possible!
Kind regards,
Albert Albertb0513 (talk) 20:44, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
Hi @Albertb0513.
Unfortunately we prohibit original research so any sources you use in the draft must be published. So far the sources in your draft do not show the band passes the notability criteria I linked above. In order:
  1. Spotify is a Primary source so does not count towards notability.
  2. Viberate is just a database listing.
  3. Discogs is not permitted to be used as a source.
  4. As above.
  5. hitparad is about Thomas Marx, not the band, and is just a database entry listing his career.
  6. Discogs again.

Declined entry for Hans Geissel

Hello Qcne,

Thank you for reviewing the entry for Hans Geissel Draft:Hans_Geissel and giving me feedback on the inappropriate choice of language. I have updated the entry to hopefully be more objective. I also added some wiki links to the mentioned topics to emphasise the relevance of Hans Geissel's work.

It would be nice if you could take another look at the entry to see if your concerns have been adequately addressed.
Afterwards, I will apply again for a public submission of the draft. Dediggefedde (talk) 12:56, 2 February 2024 (UTC)

How to de-orphan and add appropriate categories to entry on Oindrilla Maity Surai

Dear Qcne, I am seeing the orphaned article template coming back for the second time on Oindrilla Maity Surai. Also, after adding relevant categories at the end of the entry,it keeps showing 'add more specific categories'. Could you please suggest ways how to get rid of these two templates and fix the glitches? Thanks so much. Basuproma (talk) 11:38, 10 February 2024 (UTC).

Hi @Basuproma. You can remove the Category tag yourself, I think there's probably enough categories now.
The only way to remove the orphan tag is to link the Oindrilla Maity Surai article to other Wikipedia articles using WP:WIKILINKS. Qcne (talk) 19:48, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
Thanks so much for the big help, dear Qcne. Basuproma (talk) 19:43, 12 February 2024 (UTC)

My article was declined

Hello, I just finished my article on Five Crowns (Card Game) I see that you very recently declined it. What in particular should I change about it? Or what should I add?

Da'HoodedBeast (talk) 21:09, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

Do you have any examples or tips on how I can get it to be published? Da'HoodedBeast (talk) 21:10, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
Hi @Da'HoodedBeast. A key policy of Wikipedia is verifiability. Your draft only has two sources:
  1. A web-game of Five Crowns, which is not a suitable source as it's just a link to a way to play the game online.
  2. An Amazon page, which as above is not a suitable source as its just a way to buy the game.
That means that the entirety of your draft is unsourced. Where does this information come from? How can we verify it is true? We'd need independent reliable sources that discuss the game, its rules, how to play it, etc.
Let me know if that helps. Qcne (talk) 21:12, 11 February 2024 (UTC)
Thanks so much! I think I understand. I went back and added some more websites and videos that show how to play and its rules. Hopefully this is good, tell me if I should add anything else. Should I resubmit it? Or should I should it to you first? Da'HoodedBeast (talk) 21:35, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

cosmodex

hi, Thank you for reviewing the Cosmodex Unit draft. You are absolutely correct that Max Tegmark's 2003 paper "Parallel Universes" does not explicitly calculate the specific distance figure underpinning the Cosmodex Unit. I wish to clarify that Tegmark's work was cited for its broader foundation in exploring infinite universe models and immense spatial scales. It's from this cosmological context that the necessity for a unit like the Cosmodex arises. The Cosmodex Unit aims to be a specialized thought-experiment tool tailored to discussions revolving around the implications of infinities envisioned by cosmologists like Tegmark. Please let me know if further reference suggestions to theoretical papers explicitly concerning distance calculations in infinite universe theories would strengthen the Cosmodex Unit draft. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Jeffrey Schatz Jschatz112 (talk) 23:15, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Jschatz112. I'm not an expert on cosmology, so am just applying the Wikipedia policies to drafts. Is the Cosmodex Unit something you have developed yourself as a theory? We prohibit original research on Wikipedia, because Wikipedia is a tertiary source which only summarises what reliable secondary sources state. The Cosmodex Unit needs to be discussed in (at least three) reliable secondary sources for there to be a chance of an article. Qcne (talk) 08:54, 12 February 2024 (UTC)

from the paper cited:

"I survey physics theories involving parallel universes, which form a natural four-level hierarchy of multiverses allowing progressively greater diversity. Level I: A generic prediction of inflation is an infinite ergodic universe, which contains Hubble volumes realizing all initial conditions —including an identical copy of you about 10^{10^29} away." Jschatz112 (talk) 23:30, 11 February 2024 (UTC)

cosmodex

"Each of these 10^115 slots can be either occupied or unoccupied, giving N=2^(10^115)∼10^(10^115) possibilities, so the expected distance to the nearest identical Hubble volume is N1/3 ∼10^(10^115)"

Updates made to draft

Hi Qcne,

You recently denied the draft I started Draft:10xTravel because it needed more reliable sources. I've added a couple of sources and I'd like to also make some notes here about the sources I used, in case that helps.

Just added today: CNN (founder of the company was interviewed as an expert on travel) and Apple Podcast (to show that the podcast is available there and has reviews and is established).

Original sources still listed: Reference 2 is an ABC News article (this was an article about "travel hacking" and the founder of the company was the subject of this article). Reference 3 is a video of an ABC News report. Reference 4 is a TED talk. Reference 6 is an AARP article about travel podcasts. Reference 8 is Chartable, which is an independent source that tracks podcasts. I think these references are solid because they are in-depth, reliable, secondary, and independent.

If you can take another look or let me know which sources aren't good enough, that would be wonderful. Thank you for your help!

Editor782 (talk) 18:22, 15 February 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Editor782
I'll go through the sources one by one and explain why it doesn't meet our criteria yet:
  1. CNN: an interview with Bryce, so not independent.
  2. ABC: as above.
  3. ABC video: as above.
  4. TedX: a lecture by Bryce, so not independent.
  5. milevalue: Owned by 10x, so not independent.
  6. aarp: This is an okay source for the Podcast, but not for the company.
  7. Apple Podcasts: A primary source.
  8. chartable: user generated reviews, so not reliable.
As you can see then, that although the first three sources are reliable they fail at being independent. The next two sources also fail at being independent. And then the last three are about the Podcast, but not independent or reliable.
Sorry. Qcne (talk) 18:30, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
Hi @Qcne,
Thank you for your quick reply. I was under the impression that the sources as a whole need to meet every criteria but that not necessarily every source will meet all criteria -- if that makes sense. Is that not right?
Either way, I don't see anywhere that an interview disqualifies a source as being independent when I was looking at this: Wikipedia:Reliable sources. I can understand the lecture by Bryce not being independent but I do think it helps establish him and the brand as an expert in the field, helping to establish the brand as a notable topic, plus TED is a notable/reputable brand so is that one still ok but just doesn't qualify as independent? On the other hand, the CNN article interviews multiple sources in the field, not just Bryce, so I think that one should have no problem being considered independent, if you could take another look.
I have also seen other Wikipedia entries that use a lot of interviews/profiles as sources, including another one in the same field as 10xTravel, The Points Guy.
Let me know your thoughts on these questions/comments.
Thank you again.
Editor782 (talk) 20:04, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
So, the basic thing we need to do is establish if 10xTravel meets our notability criteria for companies (at WP:NORG). The link states "subject of significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject".
So far none of your sources meet that criteria because they are all linked to Bryce, the Founder, in some way. We'd need analysis/discussion/critique/interpretation of the company without Bryce being involved. That could be reputable reviews in magazines or websites, comparisons between travel sites with fairly detailed discussions, corporate news (but not just regurgitated press releases) - all specifically about the company itself. The sources that meet the reliable and secondary criteria are about Bryce or the Podcast, not the company. e.g. the CNN article is a fleeting mention of 10x, then an interview with Bryce.
Unfortunately we have many tens of thousands of poor quality articles which no one has gotten around to deleting or cleaning up. This is a volunteer project, and we certainly don't want to add more poor quality articles to the project. If you wanted to base your draft on an existing article, please choose a WP:GOOD one which has been vetted by the community as passing our minimum standards.
It might be worth checking out WP:NPEOPLE and see if Bryce is notable as a person- you might be able to re-work the draft so it is about him instead of the company.
If you want a second opinion, you can ask at WP:AFCHD or WP:TEAHOUSE. Qcne (talk) 20:14, 15 February 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Qcne, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Editor782 (talkcontribs) 21:18, 15 February 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for the clarification.

The company started with Bryce writing most of the content on the website and being the face of the company, but now there are multiple writers and four people on the podcast (including Bryce) so I don't know about making it focus solely on him, but good to know that might be a way to re-work it.

Do you think making it about the podcast would work instead of making it about 10xTravel as a whole or about Bryce?

Thanks again.Editor782 (talk) 21:17, 15 February 2024 (UTC)

Again, it depends if you can find that significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject about the Podcast, or about Bryce himself. Qcne (talk) 08:58, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
Hi @Qcne,
I added three new sources to the draft, all three of which focus on 10xTravel as a business. I'm hoping those combined with the original sources will prove the topic is notable. If you could review it again, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you!
Editor782 (talk) 21:14, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
Sorry;
  1. Crunchbase is a depreciated source (see WP:CRUNCHBASE).
  2. The Org is just a hierarchy tree of senior management.
  3. themysterytraveler is, I am fairly sure, an AI-generated SEO-spam farm. Every single article follows the same format, with weird language. I don't think it is a reliable source.
Qcne (talk) 21:36, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
Hi @Qcne,
I didn't realize that about themysterytraveler... I'll dig into that site a little more. For now I removed that and the other two. I added two additional sources though, CNN and Ramit Sethi's website.
Thank you

Hi, Qcne

Greetings, I wrote a new article! I was wondering if you thought it was good and well written? Here it is; SERVE is a Non-Profit Sri Lankan Organization founded in 1999 (1) which takes on giving children education in a way which does not disrupt their values and subcultures. SERVE focuses on helping women and children to unlock their full potential and realize their rights. This organization tries to do this all in a scientific and sustainable process.

SERVE has a lot of projects in the work but among them are the 'SAVIBALA' project, which focuses on giving pre-school children in Moratuwa, and also the quite mentionable 'SUPEKSHA' project, helping convicted mothers and educating prison staff to help and strengthen the child's rights (2).

SERVE also gives way to dance, art and computer classes in their afternoon children forums (3), and helps find a way to give people from different parts of their location, also, with the 'GOAL' workshop, giving children an opportunity to teach children Karate, Netball, and skills to make good or well-judged life choices. --SUMMARY-- SERVE is a Non-Profit Organization which empowers women and children to live their lives to their full potential with workshops, forums and classes, and their goal is to make a change in society for, respectively, unfortunate women and children. References[edit source] (1) (2) (3) ^ https://www.servelk.org/about-us/ ^ https://www.servelk.org/ongoing-projects/ ^ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqHA_5WsJxE EnCyClOpEdIA VII (talk) 13:05, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

Hi @EnCyClOpEdIA VII, you will see I've just declined the draft as there is no indication that SERVE passes our notability guidelines for companies and organisations.
You must find sources that follow the below guidelines, and then summarise or paraphrase them in your own words. That should make up the content of your article. The sources must be:
- Reliable: We prefer secondary sources that are published by reputable institutions with proof of editorial oversight. Primary sources can be used for basic facts (such as a date of birth), but they should be supplemented with strong secondary sources that offer analysis, discussion, or interpretation.
- Independent: Your sources should be independent of the subject, for example not interviews with the subject, self-published, or from the subject's own website.
- Show significant coverage: Your subject should be discussed in detail in the sources you find. The sources should provide in-depth information or analysis about the subject, going beyond basic facts or promotional material.
- From multiple places: We usually require three or more separate reliable, independent, secondary sources that discuss the subject.
- Not original research: Wikipedia articles should summarise existing knowledge about a subject. Wikipedia is a tertiary source and is not a place to present new research. You should also avoid drawing your own conclusions or analyses from the sources.
If you cannot find those sources, then I am afraid SERVE would not merit an article at this time.
Hope that helps, Qcne (talk) 13:07, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
Thank you!!! EnCyClOpEdIA VII (talk) 13:14, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
I added sources which give the same information, but also show that SERVE is a veritable organization to be on Wikipedia EnCyClOpEdIA VII (talk) 13:18, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
Hi @EnCyClOpEdIA VII, not enough I am afraid. I will go through the sources one by one:
  1. SERVE's own website, so not independent.
  2. SERVE's own website so not independent.
  3. Youtube: this seems to be a marketing video explaining some of the services, so is not independent.
  4. ng3o: this is an okay source, though it is connected to SERVE as they are a partner, it does explain some of their services.
  5. wiser: this is a directory listing for SERV, so not significant coverage (it just proves the organisation exists, nothing else).
  6. sol: this is an okay source.
We'd need two or three more sources that are totally independent of SERVE and discuss the organisation. The sources do not have to be online, they could be books, research papers, or magazines. Your primary sources (like SERVE's own website) can be used to prove the existence of projects etc, but you first must establish notability via the significant coverage in reliable, independent, secondary sources. Qcne (talk) 13:24, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
OK, will do! I am so grateful for all the help, Qcne! EnCyClOpEdIA VII (talk) 14:37, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
Did it!, Thanks EnCyClOpEdIA VII (talk) 14:45, 20 February 2024 (UTC)
The Cloudcone is a good source. Could you ensure your in-line citations are located properly after each statement they assert, by following the tutorial at WP:INTREFVE? Currently you can see the citations are all bunched up at the end of the text instead of sprinkled throughout. Qcne (talk) 14:53, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

About Draft:Portonovo Lighthouse

Hi Qcne, In India more than 70+ lighthouses here. But, only 7 lighthouse stations has NAVTEX facilized Stations. this Portonovo is one of those stations. the portonovo (Parangipettai) was historically very important place for Portuguese, Dutch, British and Indian. this is notable article in India and world wide. so, please re-review my article. Thank you for your time to review it. Ahamedpno (talk) 05:36, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Ahamedpno. Please remove all the external links from the body of the text as I asked. You may convert some to in-line citations or use WP:WIKILINKS to link to other articles. But there should be no external links in the body of the text.
I would also suggest adding in context for readers unfamiliar what a "Navtex" is- I have no idea so it is a confusing first paragraph in the draft.
The description of the landscape and the sequence of lights from the lighthouse needs to be sourced, we prohibit original research. Qcne (talk) 11:22, 21 February 2024 (UTC)

You only submitted the draft for review about two minutes ago - it would not have been in the review queue until just now so us reviewers would not have known you had made changes to it.
Unfortunately I will have to decline again as the sources you have given are inappropriate:
