I was asking a question on one of the help boards perhaps you might know the answer:

What are the rules for linking to discussion boards related to to the subject of an article. I have been told that this is not allowed, but having searched the guidelines I haven't been able to find anything refering to this. Orion

Welcome to Wiki. Growing up through WWII and watching technology develop in front of me has given me an abiding interest in the real and fictional worlds of science. I cannot remember when I first heard about the idea of action/reaction nuclear drives, but it always struck me as being impractical. Hence my fascination that people are still talking about it. Amazing! Whatever else you might achieve here, you can take satisfaction in having made an old guy happy. :) David91 13:53, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

I think the internet does a lot to give life to ideas that might otherwise only be considered by very few academics in dusty institutions. (This, of course, can be a force for bad as well as good.) When I first heard about Orion my reaction was, "The ship will get blown to pieces by the blast." The idea sounds crazy, but there is no technical reason why it would not be feasible. The biggest reason for the project demise, I feel, was the publics concern about nuclear fallout. As Freeman Dyson who worked on the project made clear, no attempt should be made to launch an Orion vessel unless we are sure it is safe and will not result in dangerous levels of nuclear fallout. Beer cats question

It has been suggested by User:BrianSmithson and supported by User:Syrthiss that the Beer and brewery categories should be renamed. This proposal has been supported and expanded by myself. The notion is that the regional categories should follow the format of "Beer and breweries in Africa" /Europe/Asia/North America/South America/Oceania. "Brewers and breweries" could also be renamed "Beer and breweries by region". And all the countries should also be renamed (and merged if needed) as, for example, "Beer and breweries of Germany", "Beer and breweries of Britain", "Beer and breweries of Poland". The word in each case would be beer rather than beers to allow for general articles on beer culture in each region as well as individual beers.

Political Dweeb

User: Political Dweeb here has a question for user: Quarkstorm. The Wikipedia page on the DUP has a discussion page where I explained on it that I was responsible for the creation of this paragraph on the DUP article called "Political links". Can you please read the paragraph I wrote on the discussion page about the Political links between the DUP and the British Ulster Alliance and the BUA's political position and explain to me if you know if it is necessarily true.

If you are not able to answer this question could you possibly you show it to other DUP members or ask anyone else to see if they know anything about it.

Political Dweeb, I have never heard of the BUA, I am as you might have guessed in the DUP. I will do a bit of research and try to get you a definative answer. Quarkstorm (talk) 14:19, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
