Look, what you're doing with the article doesn't make sense because it talks about the Swaziland's delegation on that date. What you're adding is untimely. It's as if we were talking about the participation of the delegations from Thailand and Ethiopia without a timeline when they were once called Siam and Abyssinia. What I see is that you're going to want to make a cross-examination of (now country X) in all the articles, and that breaks the timeline. Please don't pull off untimely stunts. You know that's the kind of edits that got you kicked off the Portuguese Wikipedia. Please use common sense and don't insist. Taichi (talk) 22:15, 3 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

The reversion is still unjustified, look at the article about Dahomey at the 1972 Summer Games, the article literally starts with "Dahomey (now Benin). The edits on the Swaziland page were just following the pattern of this article, but of course it's much easier and more convenient for you to judge me by the edits on the Portuguese Wikipedia (which you probably only went to for a cursory analysis, since you never mentioned exactly what kind of edits I made there outside the blocking outlines). And please stop harassing me and leave my edits alone, no one is complaining but you (apart from one wrong edit I made on the page about trans rights in the UK, but other than that no one else complained). Questionadora ávida (talk) 08:19, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry, but you can't call it "harassment" if you did something wrong on another project. There's a saying that "birds can't shoot guns" so I'd appreciate it if you know your place. If you make a controversial edit, it's my duty to point it out to you. I don't intend to be silent or censored by your warnings. That applies to any project. I won't be held responsible if another user points out more errors. That's the last thing I'll warn you about, so you don't get ideas later about reversing the scenarios and favoring you with phantoms of "harassment". Taichi (talk) 16:49, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Please understand one thing: it doesn't matter what I did on the Portuguese Wikipedia or the Spanish Wikipedia, what matters is what I did here on the English Wikipedia. I appreciate you pointing out my edits, but I will not accept being treated as if I were a mere article vandal. If you and the other users had treated me like a decent human being instead of just punishing me, there would be no problems and I would have fixed my edits without any problems. Pay attention to what I'm about to say: There are ways to point out someone's mistakes without making them feel horrible about themselves. A user on the Spanish Wikipedia did exactly that to me, and I thanked him for treating me more understandingly. Questionadora ávida (talk) 17:12, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Furthermore, it is extremely hypocritical of you to come and talk to me about "common sense", when the English Wikipedia clearly uses "ESWATINI" and not "Swaziland" (with exceptions such as on the pages about the Olympic Games, since the country competed in them for many years as "Swaziland"). I will make the same argument that you used on the Spanish Wikipedia, do not change Wikipedia to favor your arguments. Questionadora ávida (talk) 16:44, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I see these kinds of answers got you kicked off in the other project. Be happy and celebrate here then. Surely someone from here will point you out in the future. Let's see if the "avid questioner" attitude works here and they believe you. I won't bother you anymore here. Taichi (talk) 16:54, 4 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

Your Recent Edits

[edit]

The reason I originally wanted to comment on this is that you simply added an excess citations tag to the article LGBTQ rights in New York, where I have no addressed that issue. I would request in future you first try to rectify the issue (in this case that means boldly removing some sources and explaining why) before simply tagging an issue, although I assume you did this in good faith.

Secondarily, having looked at your edit history, I would like to remind you that any addition of content to an article or any change to an article text that affects its meaning should not be marked as a minor edit.

Hope you continue to edit wikipedia and thank you for your contributions, Emily.Owl ( she/her • talk) 13:20, 24 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I'm a little embarrassed about it. I didn't expect the article to be this bad. The Portuguese version had few sources, and I wanted to add to them, but I didn't do a very good job. If I'm not even good enough to translate an article, imagine creating one on my own?... Questionadora ávida (talk) 22:14, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Don't worry about it. The Portuguese article actually has the same problems—I don't know if Portuguese Wikipedia's reliable sourcing policy is different from the English Wikipedia's, but its sources are all either terrible or don't mention notiesexuality. If you just want the article deleted, you can say so at the deletion discussion and it'll be deleted quickly. Zanahary 22:31, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Well, I just have one more thing to tell you: the Portuguese Wikipedia is completely crazy. Nothing about it makes sense. Sometimes administrators change article titles without the consent of other editors, and nothing happens. They say they only accept common names (in the case of articles about countries/territories), but there are articles there with extremely unusual names that few people use. I think I should analyze the articles there several times before starting a translation. Questionadora ávida (talk) 22:51, 16 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in LGBTQ rights in Rio de Janeiro (state), disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Jalen Barks (Woof) 23:29, 22 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

I didn't do anything wrong, most other articles about LGBTQ rights follow the same editing pattern as I did, such as LGBTQ Rights in Hawaii, LGBTQ Rights in Portugal, LGBTQ Rights in the United Kingdom, LGBTQ rights in Brazil, LGBTQ rights in the Republic of Ireland, LGBTQ rights in Northern Ireland, etc. In reality, the real deviation was how the article was before and how you insisted on leaving it. Questionadora ávida (talk) 00:24, 23 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
For this specific edit, please refer WP:OLINK. We cannot have links to commonly known subjects. Jalen Barks (Woof) 01:29, 23 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Okay, but then all the pages I cited and others should be changed, not just a specific, random page where I edited. Questionadora ávida (talk) 08:11, 23 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
Furthermore, there was no need to remove "queer" from the text, since the article's title is "LGBTQ rights in Rio de Janeiro (state)". Questionadora ávida (talk) 08:12, 23 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Hi Questionadora ávida. Thank you for your work on Religious symbols in classrooms. Another editor, Klbrain, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Thank you for helpfing building this article, initially from a translation from Portuguese. A very small quibble: thank you for mentioning the translation in your first edit summary, but it would have been helpful to have had the language version specifically named. I wonder whether the article could be broadened to other religious symbols, as currently it is rather crucifix-focussed. For example, icons in Greece, or Koranic verses or Bismillah in Muslim-majority countries.
