This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... this band has existed for 30 years and has impacted the lives of many people. Desert Rain is finally beginning to take off here in New England and should have a viable wiki page. While the group has been featured in newspaper articles over the years it may no longer be possible to produce most of these. If the style of my article is the problem, I would implore someone knowledgeable to help me understand what I am doing incorrectly. I admit that this sort of thing isn't really my forte. Please Please help me out with this before you simply delete the page. Thanks in advance for any help - Jan Goldstein — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rainbase (talkcontribs) 22:38, 21 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... it is about the history of a band in Eastern CT. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.80.121.240 (talk) 23:11, 21 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

As of yesterday I thought I was on the right track here. Please don't delete this page; I am trying my best to adhere to wikipedia guidelines. Thanks - Jan G. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rainbase (talkcontribs) 23:31, 22 June 2016‎ (UTC)Reply

Desert Rain is an important regional band that provides excellent musicianship and clever wordplay to make for an enjoyable music experience for a wide audience. Their catchy original songs are augmented by off-the-wall covers with unique arrangements. Please allow their wikipedia page to remain. MarkNelson61 (talk) 15:53, 23 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

@MarkNelson61:, and everybody else: The discussion has moved over to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Desert Rain band. Feel free to comment there. But, you might want to read through what others have said first. The question is not whether Desert Rain is artistically excellent, or whether lots of people go to their shows and enjoy their music. What it is about is explained on the other page. Mudwater (Talk) 01:02, 24 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
