Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --WillMcC (talk) 20:07, 31 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. However, the links/content you added may not be a good fit for the article. If you would, please use the article's talk page to explain your rationale for adding the link. Also see the welcome page if you'd like to learn more about contributing to the encyclopedia. Thanks!

. Also, please take a look at Wikipedia:External links for more information, and if you believe your link should be added, please discuss it first on the article's talk page. --WillMcC (talk) 19:44, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey Will can we talk - not sure I follow why links to wikijob are taken down. According to Wikipedia's ext link policy, we abide by all the rules. We are a wiki, but an established one with several editors. Is the fact we are a wiki the only reason my links we withdrawn? I woul dhave though the info we provide is more than useful as an addition to wikipedia's company wikis. ??? thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.0.221.59 (talk) 09:36, 6 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

As far as I know, you have not been blacklisted. The problem is that you went ahead and added the links to multiple pages (which aises a red flag for spam) without discussing them on the talk page first. If you feel your links should be added, bring them up on each article's talk pages first, and if the other editors agree, you can go ahead and add them. --WillMcC (talk) 22:53, 6 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Will, I really didn't know that was the protocol here (we don't do it that way at wikijob)! I will always do this from now on. Is there any way I can rectify the situation - or at least raise my reputation?! ... if I discuss the links on the discussion pages, will it take a very long time before someone ok's a link - or is it a relatively smooth process?

Thanks for your help - again, I apologise for misuse. Redsuperted (talk) 00:18, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey Will - I have discussed WikiJob links on certain pages and certain pages have agreed that I can add a link! However, when I try to add an html to WikiJob.co.uk a notice does display telling me links to this address have been blacklisted! I guess WikiJob HAS been blacklisted - is there any way I can revert this....?!! Please help!!!Redsuperted (talk) 22:42, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 09:48, 6 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I deleted your recent article because it did not provide independent verifiable sources that it meets the notability guidelines. Jimfbleak (talk) 18:53, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

OK Jim - Please check my improvements - I can add more references if required!! ...also - our web address www . wikijob . co . uk has been blacklisted on wikipedia. Is there any way I can de-black list it? I appreicate your help and support - really. I love wikipedia - the reason I made a wiki site! - and want a page on here more than anything! Yours Redsuperted (talk) 19:04, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think this link may be helpful: Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. — User:ACupOfCoffee@ 19:30, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thats useful Jim thanks - I will no longer input links to wikijob because of the COI. However - can you tell me how I can go about returning the wikijob link to normal. It is blacklisted... how can I appeal this for the benefit of others? Redsuperted (talk) 19:48, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I missed your reply on my page, best to add messages at bottom of page, not top. Since your article was deleted by three different admins, the last one also protected against recreation. The normal practice is is to create a version here and get an admin to look at it with a view to lifting the protection. Remember though that the previous points apply: not promotional, not copyright, independent verifiable sources for notability. Jimfbleak (talk) 06:09, 15 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
If you are not clear why it was deleted, apart from lacking any it made many unsourced spammy claims,
  1. The site is unique
  2. comprehensive information about interviews and assessment days
  3. This makes the site very different from other recruitment websites
  4. This board has grown in popularity rapidly since implementation and continues to receive many daily posts from various new as well as long term users.
  5. Users value the messageboards
  6. "Mentions from Universities and careers offices" and "Mentions in the press" would be better used as references rather than what reads more like vanity puffs.

I see what you mean - I've deleted that now too, just sit back and wait for the flak. Jimfbleak (talk) 11:48, 15 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Rollonfriday is back. I don't understand why the wikijob page was deleted but this one is still up!Redsuperted (talk) 21:16, 21 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Stop spamming

edit

You are a spammer, you are here only to promote your site. Please go away. Guy (Help!) 16:16, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I find that offensive and I find you offensive. I expect you were the one that closed a perfectly reasonable debate on whether or not to delete the WikiJob article from Wikipedia? ..you obviously read none of the comments or votes - all of which were to keep the article in wikipedia. You are not a dictator - wikipedia is supposed to be run by everyone - you have no right to label me a spammer or shut down constructuve debate. Essential, you're the Stalin of Wikipedia. Put the discussion back. Redsuperted (talk) 19:59, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
furthermore wikipedia has pages on similar sites to WikiJob - such as rollonfriday - It's terrible that people like you get a little bit of power, because you abuse it - ALLOW A DEBATE, that's all I'm asking for - I'm not a spammer.. I bet you haven't even looked at WikiJob in any detail whatsoever Redsuperted (talk) 20:04, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • So I can never contribute to wikipedia again in my lifetime, because you decided that I am a spammer because I added a few links to a website before I realised it wasn't appreciated. Please move on. I laid down some links. I apologised. I won't do it again. Just move on... please. Redsuperted (talk) 23:09, 5 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Deletion Review Notification

edit

I have closed the deletion review concerning the articles you added to Wikipedia (Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2008_August_5#Wikijob_.28closed.29). The result of my closure was to permit the recreation of the article by any interested and uninvolved third party (so clearly neither you, nor anybody involved with the site). I have agreed not to delete any recreation unless the article is excessively spammy and promotional.

Any account that is involved with the website in question which is found to be editing any future recreation of the article will be blocked on sight - you are welcome to use the talk page of any future recreation for the purpose of making suggestions and advising editors on corrections or changes you would like made, of course.

Thank you for your co-operation in this matter. Nick (talk) 16:48, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok - thanks Nick. Could you also remove the associated web address from the wikipedia blacklist? I understand all this. How do I get a third party someone to start an article on WikiJob - will anyone at wikipedia do this? Redsuperted (talk) 20:11, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
You can request an article at Wikipedia:Requested articles - you would need to make sure you inform the users there that you're both involved with the website, and of the details regarding the DRV today. If someone does decide to recreate the article, I or another administrator will deal with the URL blacklist at that time. Nick (talk) 22:27, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
