edit

Thanks for all your awesome work (both RL and here) on HPV and friends. :) Just wanted to let you know that I restored the genome image to the HPV taxobox, with hopefully a clearer caption, and added another category heading to the article just to tighten and brighten the layout. Hope you don't mind. jengod 21:55, 6 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Warts

edit

Thanks for all of the info you have provided. Retroid, I see that you are a viroligist near DC, perhaps you could help me. I have literally thousands of warts, I was hoping you could e-mail me at jimdecker at optonline.net, and I could explain my situation. Thanks. User:jdecker 14:14, 9 Sept 2006 (EDT)

I'm hesitant to send email. I'm a lab geek (not a medical doctor) so I'm not qualified to offer anyone any medical advice. Sounds dreadful about the warts. The fact that I occasionally get isolated warts on my hands and feet is one factor in my feeling that medical research should target all HPVs everywhere for eradication as soon as possible. Maybe try contacting one of the HPV research bigwigs in the DC area - Dick Schlegel (Georgetown) and Doug Lowy (National Cancer Institute) spring to mind. I think they're both certified M.D.s, who might at least point you in the right direction for the sort of specialist it sounds like you might need. Retroid 19:34, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please do not upload images in the GIF format

edit

Hello and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you've uploaded a number of still images in the GIF format. In the future, please save GIF images in the PNG format before uploading (see Wikipedia:Preparing images for upload). PNG images almost always have a smaller file size, which decreases the amount of time they take to load. There are a bunch of other advantages to the PNG format such as lossless compression that you can read about on its Wikipedia article. —Remember the dot (t) 03:41, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

HPV Vaccine

edit

Hi Retroid. I'd be grateful for your comments or answer to this question. Thanks! NCdave 06:38, 28 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry I never got back to you, NCdave. After doing some editing work on papillomaviruses a while back, I decided I was becoming kind of OCD and went cold-turkey on all Wikipedia activity. It's hard being a geek. I'm glad my buddy Chackerman, who knows at least as much about papillomaviruses as I do, appears to have remained active. Retroid (talk) 21:19, 24 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Retroid,

Wondering if there is any chance you'd email me. I'm working on some research concerning cervical dysplasia and hpv, and have a few questions on the hpv side. Not knowing much about the subject aside from my limited research, my questions will probably seem very basic to you, but for some reason i haven't been able to find a sufficiently satisfying answer to some of the questions i have from the info i've found so far. any help would be appreciated.

thank you!
