List of Unicode characters - some errors in this doc:

hi:

I am working with some C++ programming with char recognition where i am using List of Unicode characters.
I have found some errors?? on this page - and made a correction yesterday. U+0250 was placed in <Latin Extended-B>
between C+249 and C+24A - someone must have countrd decimal instate af hex. a very nice gay gave me an answer
'The edit you made to the Unicode article was valid (u+250 didn't belong in that block), and you correctly used the edit note to say what you had done. But you failed to give the most critical information: why did you do it. If you delete anything, or make an edit that causes information to be lost, you need to use the edit note to give your reason. '
why! the reason was clear - an error in the table - sorry!
i have found 3 more small errors on de page - so if somebody will correct them the right way?
Please help me with... List of Unicode characters

1: U+1E02 is start af table -- U+1E00 & U+E101 is missing - are in Latin Extended Additional (Unicode block)

2: African scripts: Ottoman Siyaq Numbers (Unicode block '0x1ED00 - 0x1ED4F') point to same codepage

 as
 Semitic languages:
Arabic script in Unicode, including the Persian alphabet, Jawi alphabet and others
Ottoman Siyaq Numbers (1ED00–1ED4F, 61 characters) --- codepage says it belong to <arabic script>
I think there was only one definition / owner /

3: IPA Extensions:

    - U+0250 ɐ 586 Latin Small Letter Turned A --- is decimal value for U+249
+ U+0250 ɐ	592 Latin Small Letter Turned A --- must bee the correct decimal value
this I think is a follow-up of my correction - 'John Maynard Friedman' forgot to correct the decimal count
when he moved C+0250 to the IPA block (where it allready was)

Category:Towns in New South Wales

I notice you are removing this from many categories saying it is not relevant but I do not understand why it is not relevant. Just to pick on one of them e.g. Category:Macksville, New South Wales, why is it not a Town in New South Wales? The article says it is a town in NSW, the NSW Geographic Place Names website says it is a town in NSW. Why is this not a relevant category? Kerry (talk) 21:05, 12 June 2020 (UTC)

Hi @Kerry Raymond:, this was in relation to a message posted on Category talk:Towns in New South Wales in relation that the sub-cetegories are not the town articles themselves, but however contains locations with the town, therefore should not have the Category:Towns in New South Wales within them as they do not describe the town itself and it just creates a mess of sub-categories on the main category page which may confuse readers. Now I have going though all the sub-cats and removed the root cat, the root cat contains links to the town articles only. Pinging @Dave Rave: for context - RichT|C|E-Mail 21:10, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
and now all the subcats you have removed leaving the towns still there, which are already in the subcats in the heading area. Dave Rave (talk) 22:46, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
the category of Macksville is for the things in Macksville, it already contains the town of Macksville, this is a town in NSW. it is already in the cat of Mid North Coast, you need to make a new one for Towns in the Mid North Ocoast. the post office is not a town in nsw, it is a thing in a category. Dave Rave (talk) 11:02, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
@Dave Rave: I'm afraid I could not quite grasp what point Dave Rave was saying on that Talk page. Here in Australia, we have both towns and localities and they are not either/or. Towns are urban areas, while localities relate to the complete subdivision of Australia into bounded areas called localities (or suburbs in urban areas). So somewhere like Macksville is the name of both a town and the locality the town is within (a very common scenario). It is not normal practice to create separate Wikipedia articles for the town and for the locality, both the town and its surrounds are discussed in a single article. That is why some categories for NSW places will have Towns in New South Wales as a parent category and others do not (as they are localities without a town). I really think this is quite an important distinction and I suggest that it is discussed at the Wikipedia:Australian Wikipedians' notice board as this is a convention used throughout Australia. Not all articles are entirely clear if they are discussing towns or localities or both (it would be better if they did, but not all are written as carefully as we might like). Just to be clear, there are localities without towns (if these have a category, then it is the parent category of the local government area), localities with a small town fully contained within them (if these have a category, then the parent category is the local government area and Towns in StateName), and larger towns which spread over multiple localities/suburbs where the town has its town article in addition to the articles for the localities/suburbs it spans over (if the town article has a category, it will have parent cats for the LGA and Towns in State Name, while is the locality/suburbs have categories, then their parent category will often be Suburbs of TownName, which in turn usually has a parent category of the LGA, but will sometimes just be directly into the LGA category without a "Suburbs of" category (although I would expect sooner or later the "Suburbs of" tends to get created). So there is a fairly high level of consistency in this approach which is being changed here without a lot of discussion. I really think this is a discussion to be had there to gather consensus among the Australian community and then then take it to Categories for Discussion noticeboard before making any mass changes. Kerry (talk) 21:46, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
as I noted, in many more words than I usually do, every town is already an item in a cat of the towns, these aren't town cats I'm talking about, theyre things in the town. Dave Rave (talk) 22:43, 12 June 2020 (UTC)
Could we please shift this conversation to Wikipedia:Australian Wikipedians' notice board. @Dave Rave: I'm still struggling with the point you are making (not a issue of agree/disagree just not clear what you are trying to achieve and why). Could you give a concrete example of what we currently have and what you think it should be and why? And perhaps a counter-example of what we currently have and should stay that way? Thanks Kerry (talk) 23:12, 12 June 2020 (UTC)

Broward County Library

Rich,

Please outline what exactly what you wish me to do and kindly provide instructions. I do not find an area on the Broward County Library page to do this. Also, my contributions are already gone. I have disclosed that I am an employee of Broward County Library several times. Similar comments from multiple sources are being received throughout the day. Please give some indication of what will satisfy the Wikipedia community. Happy to comply. I am not a Wikipedia expert, I am a Broward County employee working in the libraries division. Work on the page was intended to bring updated, factual information to users of Wikipedia about the library.

Thank you. dattisan@broward.org — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dattisan (talkcontribs) 12:35, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Hi,

It's only the creator of a page who may not contest a speedy deletion in that manner: from WP:CSD The creator of a page may not remove a speedy deletion tag from it. Only an editor who is not the creator of a page may do so. As for lack of sources, see WP:CCS. Adam9007 (talk) 23:40, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

@Adam9007:, fair enough, sorry about that - RichT|C|E-Mail 23:42, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Tagging of Viva Records (Philippines)

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Viva Records (Philippines). I do not think that Viva Records (Philippines) fits any of the speedy deletion criteria  because Publishing multiple notable (blue-linked) artists and albums is a claim of significance. If you wish, you may try using the simple proposed deletion (PROD) process, or the full articles for deletion (AfD) process, instead. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 02:03, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

Regarding my submission- UTV vs 1337x. (CS(COMM) 724/2017)

Dear Sir, I hope my message finds you well and healthy. I was hoping to clarify that the case that I have summarised in my edits is a fairly landmark decision by the Hon'ble Delhi High Court, India. The significance of the case lies in the fact that the Delhi High Court has become the first court in the country to have exercised their inherent power under the Civil Procedure Code and have moulded the remedy. The Delhi High Court usually awards injunctions for blocking of the entire website rather than dynamic injunctions.

In order to address your concerns regarding the websites linked in the article- I have removed the blogs that I had earlier cited and have replaced them with the links to the official texts of the cases itself. Kindly let me know if that addresses your concerns.Palyndrome (talk) 08:57, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

Hi @Palyndrome: WP:CASES is the notability policy for court cases, your article has to pass at least 1 to get over the notability hump. Point 1 is 'It is the subject of a reasoned opinion of the highest court in a legal jurisdiction.', the Delhi High Court is not the highest court, the Supreme Court of India is, therefore your draft fails point 1. Point 2 is 'It has set a legal precedent that is formally binding (in common law systems) or practically binding (as is generally the case with decisions of the highest courts in civil law systems).', upon a bit of Googling, I found this which indeed does seem to indicate that the case does set legal precedent.
However, you may have seen the comments from @DESiegel: that explains that you require secondary sources, either published legal analysis by legal scholars or experts, or published news coverage of the case, or both. Without this there is no way the article will get approved at Draft stage. Hope this helps - RichT|C|E-Mail 14:43, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

Question Re My New Wiki Page

Hi Rich,

Draft:Jump Global Technology Advisors

I hope this message finds you well. I have seen your comments on my wiki page called Jump Global Technology Advisors. Thank you for your comments, they are so helpful! I was wondering if you had any more specific comments regarding my page - I am going to work on adding more sources, but as it is a new company, there are not many available links on the company as of now. Also, would you like to see that the sources are cited properly? I know right now they are just linked, but I can make them into properly cited sources. Thank you, JUM100! (talk) 15:18, 19 June 2020 (UTC) Amanda

@JUM100!: First of all, please don't put your whole message in a heading, I've fixed it now. Second, what is your connection to Jump Global, do you work for them? Third, I think this is a case of WP:TOOSOON as I cannot see any reliable secondary sources that are not press releases which talk about the company. I don't think the company will get a Wikipedia article just yet. Forth, have you got a source for 'Olympic athlete Ali Gibson will lead as Jump's Chief of Staff, and former NFL star Walter Thurmond has been named Managing Director of Operations.', as I somehow doubt those people would be joining an IT company - RichT|C|E-Mail 15:27, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

Premature G13 nominations

Hi! You've nominated a good number of drafts for deletion under WP:G13 when they had not been free of human edits for six months or more; I've declined several of them. I'm sure you're trying to help, but prematurely G13-nominating a page that has been edited by a real human in the last six months kind of has the opposite result – it gives the draft an extra six months of life. It'd probably be better if you only nominated for deletion drafts that verifiably have had no human edit in the preceding six months. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 23:17, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

regarding my edits on UTV Software Communication Ltd. & Others v 1337X.to

Hi Sir

many thanks for your edit suggestions. I have added 2 secondary sources links-

one is a book chapter bu Arpan Bannerjee in a a book series "Innovation, Economic Development, and Intellectual Property in India and China: Comparing Six Economic Sectors" published by Springer Open <https://library.oapen.org/bitstream/handle/20.500.12657/23269/1006887.pdf?sequence=1#page=183>

The other is an a journal Article by Divij Joshi published by OXFORD Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice, 2019. The title of the article indicates the importance of this judgement in the context of Indian copyright law on injunctions. I am afraid that this article is not open access.

Vladimiros Tziortzis article declined

Hello Rich Smith.

Hope you are well and safe.

I just got a message that my article was declined.I upload all the references and external links to verify that the informations are real.I'm a professional racing driver and i decide to create a wikipedia article because in our days for every athlete is very important.

I'm sending you this message to ask you I got a message that my Usernamemay not meet Wikipedia's username policy.I wanted to ask you as i go through the policy but i get confused, i must change my username to my real name correct as i understood?

Also i got one more message:Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. - Rich . I wanted to ask you what i must to change for this one? As you may understand my article is about my Carreer Summary as a professional racing driver, and generally includes all the info about my career until today like every racing driver who published an article in wikipedia

Furthermore is there anything else that i must to do so my article will be approved?

Thank you a lot once again for your feedback.

I will really appreciate if i will have your feedback about all the above so i will be able finally to publish my article :)

Best regards, Vladimiros Tziortzis — Preceding unsigned comment added by VTziortzis (talkcontribs) 12:26, 20 June 2020 (UTC)

@VTziortzis: if you are Vladimiros Tziortzis, please have a read of WP:REALNAME, we just want to make sure nobody is impersonating you. The other warning is just in case one of your team staff was editing using your name on your behalf (which is against policy), however if you are editing the article yourself, then that is fine. Your article is still in the review queue and will be gotten to at some point. If you are talking about the message posted on 29 December 2018, this is for a very old version of the draft which no longer exists and can be ignored. - RichT|C|E-Mail 12:31, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
