Re Tūmatauenga
- Actually Tūmatauenga is a New Zealand deity and has nothing to do with Kū (Hawaiian language term) as a period of war if that is what it means. Kū is a Hawaiian deity so I think Hawaiian mythology is better than New Zealand in this case. Maybe someone needs to write an article about Kū the Hawaiian god - New Zealand is thousands of kilometres removed from Hawaii - 8 or 10 hour flight Kahuroa 08:14, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for clarification - did not know Tūmatauenga was NZ specific. I guess the Tūmatauenga article probably needs to make the distinction too as arguably it suggests it is a common or universal deity Dick G 08:25, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- Cheers - I have edited Tūmatauenga a little - it is on my list for a rewrite. And I edited that Ku reference and replaced with an in-text clarification rather than a link Kahuroa 08:31, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
Looks good, thanks for taking time to help out Dick G 09:57, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
Much appreciated
Many thanks for the barnstar! A most unexpected bonus! Kahuroa 11:26, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:RCYJersey.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:RCYJersey.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:08, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Hi, in relation to the above images it would be much appreciated if you could read through WP:NFCC and WP:FURG and provide a detailed fair-use-rationale for both the images concerned. For the former an appropriate copyright tag needs to be added.
Wikipedia get hundreds of images uploaded, not all of which are usable, information on the source, copyright status and justification for 'fair-use' are essential, if this information is not provided the image may be deleted. Sfan00 IMG 16:12, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
James Cook
Hi and thanks for your message. I recently took a slight interest in Cooks landing place in Sydney because I wrote an article about a place near where he landed called Cronulla Sand Dune System. I was planning on going out to the site myself to take some pics but just realised that the pics are already there in an article called Kurnell, New South Wales. So the pic that I added was borrowed from that article, I will add it to the other article that you requested. If you have a look at the other article you will find more pictures of plaques and memorials and things like that, thats if you haven't seen it already. Thanks.--Ad@m.J.W.C. 04:56, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for that. While you were there did you check out Cooks landing place and the dunes.--Ad@m.J.W.C. 05:30, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Hi DickG - I saw your AfD on this article and decided to have a go at copy-editing. See my comments on the AfD page, and my edits at Scott_A._Jones. jddphd (talk · contribs) 03:46, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Macari AfD
Thanks for your note on my talk page. I'll try to address your concerns here as well. Several of the other contributors were American, and raised the issue of Minor League Baseball compared to English lower leagues, I was addressing their points. You seem to be under the impression that yours was the only other voice in the discussion, which is clearly not true. As for being unhelpful and discourteous you have failed to engage with any of the points I have raised, whereas I have done my best to answer your arguments for deletion at some length. Pray explain your argument, for example, that information which appears elsewhere shouldn't appear on Wikipedia. Feel free to report me if you find my tone unhelpful. The community will decide who is holding the correct position on this AfD.
I did say you were being ignorant of the Wikipedia notability standards because you clearly were. You didn't know the notability standards for professional sportsmen and didn't know that this issue has been well debated and that a clear consensus has emerged. Ignorant isn't a term of abuse here, it's merely a statement of fact. You said "at 30 years old without any major exposure in the professional leagues or even junior representative status at international level he is not notable enough for a dedicated article." That is clearly just wrong - even one appearance at senior level is enough for inclusion. Did you actually do any research on this at all before posting your arguments? I'm happy to engage in robust debate on any subject and have never resorted to complaining about people's tone on their talk pages but if that's the way you like to do things then it's fine with me.
