Hello, RunIowa
editHey, how are you? I'm excited to be learning how to participate in Wikipedia (that being said, I'm not entirely sure this is what Prof. V meant when she said "leave a message". So I hope this is correct. See you in class! Bulldog53420 (talk) 22:02, 5 September 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prof.Vandegrift (talk • contribs)
Hey Buddy
editHey RunIowa! This should be a fun year! 12thManSeaFan (talk) 03:26, 11 September 2014 (UTC)
Hello
editRunIowa, I think the topics you have discussed on your page are very interesting. I especially find Latin American countries to be very interesting, so that is awesome that you are considering specializing in that area of the world. Good luck on the start of your project! Planned edits: Positive youth development
editHi, RunIowa. These proposed changes are what we discussed last week. I think all your ideas are solid. Additionally, you may need to replace the "practical applications" section with something that can delve into examples across social divisions. The next steps are to consider the articles you will use. How will a global south perspective also change the lead paragraph and the explanation of the topic throughout the article? I invite you to post your changes to the talk:Positive youth development page to let others interested know what you plan to do. Keep up the good work! A kitten for you!
editRunIowa, you have a great start to your work. I like how you began to sort through the sources and consider where, exactly, you will be incorporating them. How do you plan to work with the article in Portuguese? What kinds of sources are missing for you, in your assessment? The answers to these questions will emerge as you start crafting your article.
You're reading to begin drafting your edits. Good work!

Sandbox feedback
editI see that your article has a tag that indicates it needs more links to the rest of wikipedia. Remember though, link things so people will be able to understand the context of your article, but also be careful not to link something just because it also has a wikipedia page. Words like 'school' and 'government agencies' are not necessary to link.
An easy change you could do to make the page take on more of a worldview, as the other tag indicates, would be to add another picture or a different picture (since the image at the top in from a North American group). This is a change, though, that I wouldn't make until later on in your work on the article. Cosmetic things aren't as important as content, but it would still be a way to delineate systemic bias.
The five C's section takes up a lot of space of the article and as a reader, I am unsure about how each of these specifically connect to PYD. I would recommend taking the 5 C's out of list form and including more information about the application of the 5 C's or eliminating them altogether.
The 'background' section might fit better somewhere sooner in the article, and would benefit from some section breaks. This is also a section where there are a lot hyperlinks that could be reevaluated for their usefulness. I also think that the origins section could occur earlier.
Disambiguation link notification for November 21
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
- Positive Youth Development
- added links pointing to Character, Competence, Caring, Identity, Contribution, Human development and Stages of development
