Just for your information, an external link inside single square brackets in a reference is not "incorrect", as you stated in the edit summary for this edit. It is much better than nothing, and as you know, it is easily converted into a full citation. Thanks for your great work! —EncMstr (talk) 17:42, 4 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ok, thank you for letting my know. --Runarb (talk) 18:06, 4 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Just chiming in - the [bracketedURL] form is recognized and expanded by several tools, including WP:Reflinks and others, lessening the tedium. Thanks for working on expanding references! --Lexein (talk) 18:53, 5 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Copyediting

It's just the spelling and grammar; the style is fantastic :). But, for example, "The company has it’s" - "the company has its". I'm happy to go through and tweak it if you want :). Ironholds (talk) 13:42, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sure, that would be great :) Planing to write some other articles about Norwegian companies also, so good to get some feedback. Runarb (talk) 13:51, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Great! Okay, I've made some copyedits; you can see the changes here. Ironholds (talk) 16:04, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. Fixed AfD

edit

Hey, just giving you a heads up that you put the AfD in wrong, so I fixed it for you. When you're doing a second AfD you have to do {{subst:afdx|2nd}}. Don't feel bad or anything about this- I did the same thing when I first tried to put in a second AfD for something, so I know how easy it is to do this. In any case, it's all fixed now. :) Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 03:23, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for that! I was using the new Page Curation tool when nominating the page, and it looks like it just append the new afd at the old afd page if one exist. I will check for that in the future.
Bdw, good cleanup of that page :) Runarb (talk) 09:56, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Runarb,

My article was marked for deletion before I was able to complete the article. How do I go about rewriting the article so that it does not get re-deleted before it is finished? Thank you.

Runarb,

I would like to resubmit a modified version of the Summit Nutritionals article for review. (One that states the importance of the company) Please let me know if you have received this message as I would like to avoid instant deletion. Thank you.

Regards, Jaime HernandezThecyberfusion (talk) 22:13, 16 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

It is not up to me if your article about Summit Nutritionals International, Inc stays or gets deleted. Wikipedia is managed by many volunteers where I am on if them, but I do not have any more power then you do. Instead must of what happens here is governed by rules and consensus.
You are free to create new article at any time, however your should be sure that they follow the rules we have her on Wikipedia if you want them to stay.
Your article was deleted because it violated the G11 and A7 rules. It was basically considered to be written like an advertisement and did not state why this subject was important enough to warrant its own Wikipedia article.
An article must be about a notable subject, verifiable and have reliable third-party sources. You may want to read up on Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources, Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:NOTFORPROMOTION for a better understanding of what this mean here.
Also, if you are in any way affiliated to this company you also have a conflict of interest. Conflict of interest editing is strongly discouraged, so you should probably restrain from adding this back again. Pleas read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest . Runarb (talk) 22:56, 16 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Runarb, I was wondering if you could take a look at my edits to the Summit Nutritionals International article? I have added quite a few references including one reference from the head of the Eureka (Organization). Do you think the article would be deleted if I were to try and publish it? What do you think needs to be changed? Thank you for your time.Thecyberfusion (talk) 12:16, 6 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
Is User:Thecyberfusion the new page you have created? For what I can see you have no reliable third-party sources to indicate the importance or significance of the subject. This article will probably be deleted again if you submit it now. Have you read the pages on Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources, Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:NOTFORPROMOTION ? Hi Runarb,

Thanks for getting back to me! And good morning in Norway!

Sorry I didn't know a sandbox was available. I pressed contest deletion just because I want to get some feedback first, but if that is also an idiotic, 1st-time Wikipedia user thing to do then sorry about that.

I'm going to try re-formatting the page now.

HuronHal85 (talk) 01:59, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

No worries. Wikipedia with all its rules and regulations on new content can be a little overwhelming for everyone. I contested your page as a test page because it contained several comments you probably intended other editors to respond to. Comments like that shole be left on the talk page, not in the text of the article.
As you mentioned, it is probably best to use the sandbox until you have a page you are happy with. Remember that when you publish it on the main space it is visible for everyone, and should not be a work in progress. Runarb (talk) 10:40, 17 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yea it's starting to make a little more sense now, and I see what you mean with the sandbox and the page vs. talk section. I didn't realize that would be live right away, won't do that again. Thanks!

Thanks for looking at my 1st attempt at a page!

Runarb,

Thank you for getting back to me. I just have one more question. My original "Summit Nutritionals International" page is still up saying it was deleted. How do I go about having that page removed so it does not show up in Google searches? I am working on a new one and would like that one to be gone if possible. Thanks!

JaimeThecyberfusion (talk) 14:57, 18 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

As far as i know there is no way to remove the site where it sees it once was an article there, but it has now been deleted. However Google will probably drop the page from the index soon as it contains almost no information, and looks alot like all other delete pages here on Wikipedia. Runarb (talk) 15:02, 18 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sorry...really the last question now.

edit

Thanks for the super fast response. So now that I have created a new article, what is the easiest way to get someone to go over it for content correctness? Thanks!

Here is a direct link to the article...

JaimeThecyberfusion (talk) 15:13, 18 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

For help on developing an article you can ask at the Wikipedia:Teahouse. It is an area specifically for new users to get help with editing, article creation, and general Wikipedia use.
However as your article stands now it looks like blatant advertising, and will probably be speedily deleted again. You have no reliable third-party references and the company in question is probably not notable enough to warnets it own encyclopedia article. It is Wikipedia's policy that all information on Wikipedia must be verifiable; if no reliable third-party sources can be found on a topic, then it should not have a separate article.
You probably also have a close connection to the subject that you have failed to declare.
The best for you would probably be to not to try to push this article into Wikipedia. If this company is notable enough someone else will eventually make an article on it. Remember that Wikipedia is not a place to advertise :)
Have you read Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources, Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest? Runarb (talk) 15:44, 18 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Need your help to edit my 1st wikki

edit

Hi Runarb, Thanks for your note on my article Mario J. Brown. This is my first time submitting a wiki and I was still editing it when I noticed it got removed. I was following the guidelines from the wizard and help section.

Maybe you could help me to improve it. By no means I wanted it to be promotional, I actually spent good time doing some research on this person's personal and business websites, but also I got references from Press Releases, youtube.com, etc.

I'd really appreciate your help and guidance.

Thanks,

~~Macris1982~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Macris1982 (talkcontribs) 19:56, 18 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

I tagged Mario J. Brown for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.
To get included on Wikipedia an article most be from a neutral point of view and be about a notable subject, verifiable and have reliable third-party sources. Research from someones personal and business websites and from press releases may not be sufficient.
You may want to read up on Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources, Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:NOTFORPROMOTION for a better understanding of what this mean here.
I can of course help you. When you make a more neutral article I or other editors will review it and help you expand it if necessary. Runarb (talk) 20:30, 18 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your fast response and the articles suggested. I will reach out to you once I have rewritten it for your feedback. --Macris1982 (talk) 20:50, 18 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have rewritten it in my sandbox: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Macris1982/sandbox Is it possible for you to have a look at it and let me know your feedback? Thanks!--Macris1982 (talk) 02:37, 19 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Help Please

edit

Hello Runarb, thank you for your work and edits on my page "Mary Jeanne Kreek". I actually work for her at The Rockefeller University in New York City. The information that you say is coming from another source is indeed coming from her Rockefeller University webpage. Please let me know how I can proceed in making this page.

Thank you,

-Hilary Hbriggs6 (talk) 13:42, 19 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi Hilary. On the page in question [1] it clerly stats that the The Rockefeller University claims copyright. Then you cannot include this into Wikipedia. Using something that is probably self-published by the subject is also not good.
Instead you should probably write a new text, that is based on reliable sources from third-party sources and shows notability.
Sins you work for her you also have a conflict of interest. Have you read Wikipedia's policy on conflict of interests? Runarb (talk) 13:56, 19 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello,

I assumed (erroneously) that as Rockefeller University is a credible site it would be OK to use the material. I understand why it is not, and I appreciate your help. If I do have conflict of interest and I cannot make a page for her is there another way for her to get one, other than waiting patiently for it to happen? She is a has made significant contributions to science and I think it is appropriate for her name to be out there.

Sincerely,

Speedy deletion

  Thank you for informing me
(I'm sorry, this is my first time creating a Wikipedia article. I am aware I did not spend nearly enough time on the article, and i apologize for that. I have long used Wikipedia for all sort of knowledge questions/ interests. The problem is that I do not have accsess to the computer where I wrote the article, so if you could allow me to work on it some more, that would be very kind. My main reason for not having Databeat deleted is that Wikipedia is supposed to be a knowledge base with as many artciles as possible, if there is someone searching for databeat and could find it here, that would make them even more pleased with WIkipeida. Please tell me other areas where I can improve the article, and what "currently" is the problem with it Fridthiov (talk) 07:32, 20 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
No worries. Wikipedia with all its rules and regulations on new content can be a little overwhelming for everyone. I contested your page about Databeat because it in my opinion did not indicate why this was important and mostly served to promote this company.
