editWelcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Davey and Goliath, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 13:20, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- The actual Christmas special itself doesn't count? Anyone can watch it on Tubi. --Sabrblade (talk) 14:51, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- For a statement claiming that Davey appears differently in the special than he does in the show? I think there should be a source provided. Otherwise we're using editorial judgment to make a claim that may not have been intended by the people responsible for the special...or at least remarked upon by a source discussing the special. Animated series frequently have the characters appear different in different episodes due to different animation companies or such being involved; that doesn't mean the characters should be assumed to be older or otherwise not intended to be identical to their previous appearances. Hope this helps! DonIago (talk) 16:16, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- It was 2004. Nearly three decades after the show ended. Of course Davey (and everyone, for that matter) would look different in the special from how he looked in the show since the production crew weren't using the same clay models from three decades ago. Anyone with eyes can see that. And again, how is the special—the direct source material itself—not a valid source? Plus, the above section of the article, titled "1970s episodes", contain a similar claim of Davey's increased age from the 1960s episodes, and yet that section is completely devoid of any and all source citations for any of its information. You can't have it both ways. --Sabrblade (talk) 16:54, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- If they would "of course" look different, then why bother saying anything about it in the article? If it's notable that he looks different, then there should be a source out there that's discussed it. But the information you added went beyond simply saying they looked different, if I'm remembering correctly, and that's where problems emerge.
- If you have a concern about unsourced information elsewhere in the article, you're welcome to tag or remove it. Editors aren't required to scour articles looking for all unsourced information to tag/remove, and the fact that I had a concern with the unsourced info you added doesn't mean that I don't have a concern w/unsourced information elsewhere in the article.
