Blocked

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I thought that because the pages were about porn and fetishes, I could add one image to each article. I literally only added one. I figured that because the page already had intimate photos that I could add one. I am really sorry. i have been on wikia for years and never added material that was considered so inappropriate. Please, I feel I should be unblocked.

Decline reason:

Given the nature of the images you inserted, I would like to know why you thought that they would improve the articles? Also, why did you feel that ignoring copyright issues was acceptable? --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 10:00, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

(Non-admin response) You will also need to address the copyright concerns raised above. From the filenames, you appear to have been posting screnshots from copyrighted video material, and misrepresenting them as your own work. This is entirely unacceptable. Admin response from one who's just cycled 14 miles instead of 10 (because of a damn fool artic driver going down a road that most car drivers avoid): I've deleted your other request at the top - one at a time please. (Looked the same anyway.) Best place to post on talk pages is at the bottom. I'll look in again to see what you've been up to when I recover.... Peridon (talk) 21:10, 20 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Request reason:

Okay, I thought that I owned those images. I thought that video snapshots meant that they were mine. I'm sorry that I screwed up. I thought that they would improve articles because they were about the same subject. They are pornographic, but they were for pages about fetishes and sexual positions. This is the first time I've ever added pictures to wikipedia, so I didn't really know what I was doing. I won't be adding any more pictures ever, but I still want to improve articles.

Also, I was given no prior warning to this. I could have undone those edits in less than five minutes. I feel that User:Future Perfect at Sunrise could have sent a warning before blocking me, especially indefinitely. I did not receive even one warning. I feel that nobody is even paying attention to me, I've been with wikipedia for so long now. I've been very careful, and i am sorry I messed up.

Accept reason:

You have been unblocked, on the condition that you do not upload any more images. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 10:58, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Removing block notices does not help. I have reverted to the page containing the earlier notice, while retaining your later comment. I will not take further admin action; please do not delete sections from this page which relate to your block.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 14:26, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Excuse me, but may I ask when I'll be receiving information of how my being blocked is being discussed? It seems like I've been forgotten.--Sage94 (talk) 14:58, 26 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. At least one of your recent edits, such as the edit you made to List of Degrassi: The Next Generation characters, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. April 2013

Hello, I'm Doniago. Your recent edit to the page Shere Khan appears to have added incorrect information, so I have removed it for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. -- Doniago (talk) 19:45, 2 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your edits to the article are, among other things, introducing original research by including a statement that Khan is the main antagonist (which we don't need to state in any case) and speculating as to why Khan is immune to Kaa's hypnosis (which is irrelevant to the plot). If either of those is stated in a reliable source, then provide a citation. If they aren't, then they're inappropriate for inclusion. Please discuss the matter here or at the article's Talk page rather than simply undoing, in accordance with WP:BRD. Thank you. Doniago (talk) 12:58, 11 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Macrophilia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Giants (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Macrophilia

I have posted a comment on the page of the user with whom you have been in disagreement over this wholly trivial definition point. Please note that while I personally feel that your version of the article is more nearly correct this is only my personal opinion, and the edit war continues you may both be at risk of block. Please continue the discussion, if at all, on the article talk page. If the problem persist seek adjudication at WP:ANI.

Bully

edit

Yeah, concerning Bully, you might want to read the general guidelines first, and guidelines on video game articles second. A long, long list of in-game characters is considered WP:GAMETRIVIA, because knowing that Pinky Gauthier is "A spoiled Prep who is not only convinced that everyone loves her, but demands it with everything in her power if they don't" isn't notable at all and doesn't add anything of encyclopedic value. With a good plot summary you don't need characters in the first place. While I'm at it, a normal story layout starts with the setting first, then story. Making subsections for chapters is also unnecessary. Also, when you undid my edits, you reverted it back to the incorrect links. It is Town bully and not Town Bully. --Soetermans. How to draw conclusion from a verified source

edit

Hey. Sometimes when it's been a while since we've learned how to write a research paper, we forget how we're supposed to do that. Since there are many similar things between that and writing an encyclopedia article, it might help if we had a little refresher. So here are a couple of tips. For one, you cannot draw a conclusion that cannot be found in a source by someone who has no other knowledge about the concept. If you're writing about growing corn, for instance, and you know that it should only be sewn in certain types of soil for best results, but you can't find anything in your sources, then you don't put that in, even though you know it to be right. This is because someone with no knowledge of growing corn will read it, maybe check your sources for verification or more information, then see that there's no mention of the best types of soil and no longer trust you (or wherever you might publish, like a periodical or Wikipedia) to give them information. There must be mention in the source material of what you want to put or you don't put it, even if you personally know differently. Even if you can draw a conclusion from two sources that they don't draw individually, if you mention that, you must mention that the results and conclusions of both resources seem to imply something. After all, one of those sources might be wrong, no matter where it's from. This is why we're picky about proper sources, such as journals or established periodicals as opposed to random websites and search engine results, rather than accepting anything. When we hold this standard, people can feel more trustworthy toward the information they can receive from a place. We must avoid trying to use our own anecdotal evidence, because that kind of evidence doesn't hold weight for strangers, people who want verifiable information when they come looking. I hope these things help. Maybe look up a free online course for an even better refresher. It never hurts. Pandarsson (talk) 09:00, 16 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
