- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}

editHello, I'm Arjayay. I noticed that you recently removed content from MAM College of Engineering without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. - Arjayay (talk) 17:07, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content, as you did at MAM College of Engineering, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 17:07, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy, you may be blocked from editing. Idontknowwhattouseasmyusername300 (talk) 18:16, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Flipkart. — DaxServer (t · m · c) 18:40, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
Please slow down
editAlthough you may want to jump right into editing, you are causing a number of issues with your edits (e.g. adding unsourced content, introducing trivial information based on your personal knowledge and breaking image files). Please take the time to review the messages and links provided on your userpage before making any further edits.-- Ponyobons mots 18:24, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
