Hey. Yep, I finally decided to stop my wikiBreak and edit. Not really active, but still editing :) Things are going okay with me. Thank you. Hope everything is well with you, too. Salma Vian (talk) 22:22, 13 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Page Curation update

edit

Hey all :). We've just deployed another set of features for Page Curation. They include flyouts from the icons in Special:NewPagesFeed, showing who reviewed an article and when, a listing of this in the "info" flyout, and a general re-jigging of the info flyout - we've also fixed the weird bug with page_titles_having_underscores_instead_of_spaces in messages sent to talkpages, and introduced CSD logging! As always, these features will need some work - but any feedback would be most welcome. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 18:22, 10 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Help please

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tree_and_plaque_St_Johns_Wood.JPG

G'day Salma, How are you? I am having further trouble with my Wiki nazi. Now he has targeted some photos that I have published. I have asked him twice for assistence but he has ignored me and now has deleted one of the photos. I need help in knowing how to provide evidence that I have permission to publish the photos. If you are able to point me in the right direction to the procedure, I am sure I will be able to work it out from there. I am yet to have to do this so am not sure of the procedure. Thanks for your help. Benwebboz (talk) 09:20, 14 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hmm...I'm not so sure of this..I just clicked on that link, and it says that there is no file by this name. Maybe is got deleted already? So sorry that I wasn't around to help out. I was really busy with my real life. Salma Vian (talk) 07:54, 14 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Auto-protection query

edit

Hi Salma, a page that I have been editing and watching (Flip Skateboards) has been frequently vandalized over the last month or so—what do I need to do to propose auto-protection? I have already placed a comment on the Talk page. Thanks in advance.--Soulparadox (talk) 05:42, 14 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Since I'm not an admin, I can't help you protecting pages. But here's a question: Is that page really worth protection? Did you take a look at the the Protection policy? If you think that so, go to this page and request page protection. :D Salma Vian (talk) 07:54, 14 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Good points Salma—thank you kindly.--Soulparadox (talk) 08:08, 14 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Page Curation newsletter - closing up!

edit

Hey all :).

We're (very shortly) closing down this development cycle for Page Curation. It's genuinely been a pleasure to talk with you all and build software that is so close to my own heart, and also so effective. The current backlog is 9 days, and I've never seen it that low before.

However! Closing up shop does not mean not making any improvements. First-off, this is your last chance to give us a poke about unresolved bugs or report new ones on the talkpage. If something's going wrong, we want to know about it :). Second, we'll hopefully be taking another pass over the software next year. If you've got ideas for features Page Curation doesn't currently have, stick them here.

Again, it's been an honour. Thanks :). Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 12:26, 17 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is not a newsletter

edit

This is just a tribute.

Anyway. You're getting this note because you've participated in discussion and/or asked for updates to either the Article Feedback Tool or Page Curation. This isn't about either of those things, I'm afraid ;p. We've recently started working on yet another project: Echo, a notifications system to augment the watchlist. There's not much information at the moment, because we're still working out the scope and the concepts, but if you're interested in further updates you can sign up here.

In addition, we'll be holding an office hours session at 21:00 UTC on Wednesday, 14 November in #wikimedia-office - hope to see you all there :). I appreciate it's an annoying time for non-Europeans: if you're interested in chatting about the project but can't make it, give me a shout and I can set up another session if there's enough interest in one particular timezone or a skype call if there isn't. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 11:19, 10 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have unreviewed a page you curated

edit

Hi, I'm FoolMeOnce2Times. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, Gangsta Granny, and have un-reviewed it again. If you have any questions, please ask them on my talk page. Thank you. FoolMeOnce2Times (talk) 13:16, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited A.I.T Movie Awards, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages The Call, Complex and Strangers (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Redirecting

edit

Hello Salma. I would just like to know how to redirect a certain word or phrase to a specific page. If I type in a phrase in the search box, how can I get it to redirect to the page I want to get to to make it easier for me and others to find the things we want to find. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by CoolestGeekEver (talkcontribs) 05:38, 22 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, but I don't really understand the question :) Could you please ask the question again, but with more details? Thanks! Salma Vian (talk) 21:22, 23 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
