Ceiling Cat
editPS: your ceiling cat is alive and well at BJAODN, Wikipedia's repository of joke articles, thanks for tha laugh, but try to limit your joke edits to Uncyclopedia. --Obli (Talk)? 23:02, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Please stop adding nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you were just trying to experiment, then use the sandbox instead. Thank you. pschemp | talk 23:16, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Teepee.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Teepee.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. Sue Anne 03:02, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:IMG 0205.JPG
editThanks for uploading Image:IMG 0205.JPG. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:06, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
Ceiling Cat listed for Deletion

editSomething to consider if Ceiling Cat gets deleted
editAre you familiar with Wikipedia's sister project, Wikimedia Commons? Since you are the creator of Ceiling Cat, you could upload the image there. Wikimedia is not concerned with whether content is "encyclopedic", only with creative works of all kinds "that is created and maintained not by paid-for artists, but by volunteers." --M@rēino 05:29, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- That's not entirely true. Commons is a repository for images and other media which can be used in a Wikimedia project. Something like the ceiling cat image is not particularly appropriate there either. howcheng {chat} 16:33, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
Ceiling Cat
editAre you truly the genius who created Ceiling cat? I'm in awe AdamBiswanger1 17:15, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
why are you pretending that you took the ceiling cat photo? I have the photo immediately afterwards, it's not your photo!
Are you serious?
editCeiling cat is one of the oldest memes ever. I doubt you created it. I doubt you own the cat in question. I honestly doubt anyone at TOW cares. If you want to be unfunny, go to uncyclopedia mkay? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.219.148.166 (talk) 02:35, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes, ceiling cat is older than 2005. FOR SHAME! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Boring stuff (talk • contribs) 02:43, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, seriously, you are lying
editI seriously cannot believe you were desperate enough for Internet Fame that you arbitrarily claimed that you owned Ceiling Cat. Whatever, you probably will never see this anyway. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.113.28.76 (talk) 08:18, 27 May 2012 (UTC)
Wait…
editSome people think you own Ceiling Cat, and according to "Know Your Meme", it's still a possibility. So, clear this up. Do you own it, or not‽ — Preceding unsigned comment added by BJM138 (talk • contribs) 16:29, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
Ceiling Cat
editHi there, are you actually the rights-holder for 'Ceiling Cat'? If so, I would like to speak further with you about using the image commercially. Thanks, Tucker — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tuckrr (talk • contribs) 01:05, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
Ceiling Cat
editHi, I’m interested in possibly using Ceiling Cat in a project. Can you confirm that you shot the original photo or otherwise hold copyright to the photo? If so, would you be open to licensing it? Please contact me at emily@nickersonresearch.com as soon as possible. Thank you.NosQuaerere (talk) 18:13, 15 January 2020 (UTC)
