The Indelicates deletion discussion

Hi. I know you relisted Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Indelicates (2nd nomination) owing to an editor piggy-backing various album articles into the discussion, but we do at least appear to have solid consensus on the band. If the editor wants to nominate the albums separately (and I have no huge preference one way or the other on that) then they can do so; for now, I do think it's time to close it. Regards, Steve T • C 11:08, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

Steve, an admin will close the discussion in due course. Sandstein 12:17, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

I am completely against merging content that violates WP:SYNTH and WP:OR. Govvy (talk) 19:53, 2 November 2020 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Daisy Watkins

Hi! As you closed this, please note that the discussion pertained to 3 articles which should be deleted. I can't do it myself since I was the nominator. Geschichte (talk) 19:02, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

Geschichte, done. The script should have done this but seems to have malfunctioned. Sandstein 19:46, 3 November 2020 (UTC)

Deletion review for 1989 Swiss Army order of battle

An editor has asked for a deletion review of 1989 Swiss Army order of battle. Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Hello, a while ago you closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/1989 Swiss Army order of battle and it is now being used as a precedent for deleting a similar article 1989 Portuguese Armed Forces order of battle and with others to come. I was hoping to relist the discussion to form a clearer consensus since it is being used as a precedent.   // Timothy :: talk  14:22, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Rewrite Man, you can recreate the article if in doing so you address the reasons for its deletion, see WP:GNG. Sandstein 10:48, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

How do you check sockpuppets?

I have a suspicion that two users are actually the same where one is a sockpuppet. Is there a way to investigate? One user was trying to keep their edit on an article that was being reverted constantly. Later, another user comes along to attempt to do the same edits but then ends up being reverted, both in the same manner. -boldblazer (talk) 09:55, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

Boldblazer, you can make a request at WP:SPI, where people who specialize in these matters will take a look at it. Sandstein 10:20, 16 November 2020 (UTC)

Deletion review request of page Khalid Mahmood (academic)

Hi,

I noticed today that this page was deleted on May 2018. I worked on this page with my friend Kashif Mahmood who worked with account kmahmood2009. I want and suggest to restore this page as the subject is a notable personality in his field. Recently, he has also been recognized among the top 2% researchers in the world in his subject category of Information and library Science. I have been busy in my doctoral program and could not be attentive to the deletion process of this page. Please feel free to ask if there are any impartial references required. He has many authentic references that wlll definitely support his notability on Wikipedia. Hope the best from your side. Kind regards,Syed Rahmat Ullah Shah (talk) 18:40, 19 November 2020 (UTC)

Rahmatgee, please link to the page at issue. Sandstein 18:53, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
It is archived at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Khalid Mahmood (academic)Syed Rahmat Ullah Shah (talk) 19:03, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
Rahmatgee, what are the WP:THREE best sources? Sandstein 19:05, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
1. Professional profile, 2. Google Scholar, and 3. Paklag. I'm not sure if these references serve the purpose. His coverage on national media is quite a lot. It can be seen on his Facebook profile where he posted mostly electronic media interviews. Most of the references were also given on his Wikipedia page that was decided for deletion. Syed Rahmat Ullah Shah (talk) 18:08, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
Rahmatgee, these sources cannot establish notability because they are not independent from the subject. Accordingly, I decline to undelete the article or to look into the matter further. Sandstein 18:44, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
Surprised. Dozens of electronic and print media events on national level in a short time period of a month showed his coverage and are being considered as not being independent to the subject. You know better. Let's agree to disagree. Cheers. Syed Rahmat Ullah Shah (talk) 10:47, 21 November 2020 (UTC)

Clover Health

Hi - I’m confused why you just deleted a $3.9 billion company from Wikipedia. Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Clover_Health Did you review the article and read the sources? TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 08:02, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Timtempleton, I deleted the article because that was the consensus in the discussion. As closer, I do not review the article and its sources, but rather assess

whether the discussion establishes rough consensus to delete. Sandstein 10:36, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

There seems to be a flaw in the system that deletionist editors can join together to make obscure policy arguments to tear down coverage that appears in reliable third-party media organizations such as The NY Times and WSJ, by insisting that it’s promotional, and then have the article deleted. But it is what it is I guess. I will put a Google alert out and track this company’s future coverage, and when they get more I will probably re-write the article. Cheers. Samnaija, sorry, but I will not restore the article because there was consensus at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Oga Micky to delete it. Sandstein 18:05, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
Sandstein Sir What will I do to get it restored

Samnaija (talk) 18:21, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Samnaija, create a draft and convince a reviewer at WP:AFC that it addresses the problems identified in the deletion discussion. Sandstein 18:33, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

If I do so, will the main article be restored? Samnaija (talk) 18:37, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Samnaija, probably. Sandstein 19:34, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Don't be offended, can I get a guide on how to go about it, addressing the problems identified in the deletion discussion because I really need the article back so that I will work on it to improve it greatly Samnaija (talk) 20:47, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Samnaija, the guide you are looking for is WP:BIO. Sandstein 20:48, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Thanks so much for your help and time Samnaija (talk) 20:54, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Deleted text from Human genetic clustering

Hi. You recently closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Human genetic clustering. For reasons I articulated there, I think there are several sections of the deleted article that could be used elsewhere in Wikipedia. Could you, as an administrator, provide me with a copy of the deleted page? Thanks!--Carwil (talk) 02:52, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

Carwil, sorry, I don't undelete articles, but you can ask another admin or somebody else at WP:REFUND. Sandstein 07:17, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

Closing statement THI

Hey Sandstein, there was an error in your closing statement for Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt: it's not a research university, but a Fachhochschule. Ideally, this error would be corrected. Kind regards from PJvanMill)talk( 18:10, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

PJvanMill, the article says otherwise, and it doesn't matter for the outcome. Sandstein 18:46, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
The article does not say otherwise. I quote, research-oriented university of applied sciences (Fachhochschule) (emphasis mine). Kind regards from PJvanMill)talk( 18:50, 25 November 2020 (UTC)
A, I see, the infobox. The infobox conflicts with the article text and is incorrect. See also the article Technische Hochschule, where THI is listed among the Fachhochschule. Kind regards from PJvanMill)talk( 18:57, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

To be clear, the COI tag was in response to an IP address editor who only edits articles related to Wilkerson and resides in the same city as the author, not you. Anamelesseditor (talk) 18:38, 29 November 2020 (UTC)
