About Sunpasithiprasong Hospital

edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Sunpasithiprasong Hospital a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Sunpasitthiprasong Hospital. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Bang Pho MRT station moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Bang Pho MRT station, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Red Line stations

edit

Since the Red Line stations are planned to (eventually) serve the SRT main lines, maybe the articles should just be named X railway station to be consistent with most railway station articles? --Paul_012 (talk) 22:05, 20 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

I created the new articles under the format X station to create continuity given that Bang Khen, Lak Si and Don Mueang which already existed as articles were named in that way. However, the only station along the line planned to serve actual main line trains will be Don Mueang (Rangsit's article already named "Rangsit railway station"). Still not entirely sure how this should be approached, i.e. change all or change just Don Mueang's that will serve mainline trains. Input appreciated. Sastravuth1786 (talk) 03:14, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

The Don Mueang Station article appears to already have been renamed. Perhaps this should be discussed as a requested move sometime in the future, to solicit further input. --Paul_012 (talk) 07:15, 22 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Si Bearing MRT station

edit

Hello, Sastravuth1786, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username TheLongTone, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Si Bearing MRT station, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Si Bearing MRT station.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|TheLongTone}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

TheLongTone (talk) 13:35, 6 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

And 'fixing spam' is a thoroughly dishonest edit summary for you mass reversion of my edits. And I think you ought to have a look at Wikipedia's notability guidelines; the desire to have an article on every bus route or every train station is regrettably common, leading to lots of totally uninformative articles. In such cases it is far more informative to group the information. I mean, 'the station has four entrances' Desperate or what? TheLongTone (talk) 13:41, 6 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

@TheLongTone: Thanks for your interesting suggestion. I have experienced a fair share of articles being 'bumped off' as insignificant in the past (of course, on this very topic). In every discussion, the consensus has always been keep. In addition, I would say this article is within the scope of Wikipedia:WikiProject Thailand.

Let's look from another perspective. What if we were to generalise your argument to other railway stations on other railway lines? Take a look at Thái Hà station on the Hanoi Metro, or East Gongchen Bridge station on the Hangzhou Metro. What about Katsuradai Station on the Senmo Main Line in Japan that consists merely of a single platform and has the same article structure as those you have suggested should be deleted? Why aren't they marked for deletion? I can only say it is justified if those are marked for deletion as well, as arguably they don't fit the notability guidelines. It is difficult to draw the line in these cases. Call it obsession, but these articles contribute to completeness and those that navigate these articles often will understand.

It is interesting to note that an article is not perfect from its infancy. We all try to make it from the start, but it won't be. That is why many can contribute freely to it, to improve it. In Thailand especially, people will expand on such articles over time. If notability requires additional nearby infrastructure or details, then do suggest so. What is uninformative to one, is informative to another.

Desperate or not, it remains a harmless, neutral article about a railway station. Wikipedia is a community-driven encyclopedia by which, I hope, everyone can expand, especially on topics such as these. You may or may not see importance in this as I do, but it is important to realise that there are many unspoken out there who do. If all else fails, then I will at least have tried to expand article coverage on my country's infrastructure. I encourage open discussion on this topic. For the development of our Wikipedia.

First, see WP:OTERSTUFF. My real point is that allthe important information on these stations would be better included in, for example, an article on the yellow line. I'm sure that, in common with most infrastructure projects, there would be material of encyclopedic interest there.TheLongTone (talk) 13:36, 9 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:39, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
