Hello, I'm Charliehdb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to List of Indian films of 2024 have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Official figures are WP:PRIMARY, producers have a conflict of interest to promote their film by inflating collections. Use neutral WP:SECONDARY sources per policy. Charliehdb (talk) 11:23, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

What kind of problem do you have regarding my editing and update. What website or citation should I use so that your policy is obeyed Sayanoffi (talk) 11:46, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Use the sources which doesn't have collection from the makers. Charliehdb (talk) 11:50, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at List of Indian films of 2024. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Charliehdb (talk) 11:51, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please tell me how to understand which sources makers are not involved. Also you are reverting to information that are inaccurate as those reflect day 1 collection which is not updated as more than 3 days have happened and collection have significantly increased. So by reverting you are yourself doing vandalism as you are not providing collection update even after the update of actual collection Sayanoffi (talk) 12:00, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Sources you provided were from makers of the film. That's why it was removed. You can give sources which is not from the makers. Thanks. Charliehdb (talk) 12:04, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at List of Indian films of 2024, you may be blocked from editing. Sacnilk is not reliable source. Charliehdb (talk) 12:15, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please I request you that you provide me a list of websites and journal or news which according to you is ok with your policy and not from makers as the information you are reverting is not accurate as it's old and obsolete Sayanoffi (talk) 12:17, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
See WP:ICTFSOURCES. Charliehdb (talk) 12:18, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please DO NOT remove box office collections without giving proper rationale or add new collections from sources that are not listed/listed unreliable in the WP:ICTFSOURCES table. The Herald (Benison) (talk) 18:17, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Can you please tell me you are talking about which template as I have recently added a citation supporting an overseas collection of Bahubali 2 from Bollywood Hungama which is listed as reliable in Wikipedia Sayanoffi (talk) 18:23, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
The warnings are for the edits in the evening in List of Indian film of 2024 as well as RRR. Thanks. The Herald (Benison) (talk) 18:40, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please explain what mistake I have made as in all the citation present in RRR it's clearly stated according to policy supported citation that RRR earned 1188-1200 cr collection but there it was written somewhere 1300 cr and somewhere 1400 cr so I changed them so what the mistake I made.If you have doubt then check the written collection 1400 cr and the citation where the collection is different. And you gave me a useless warning which took my chance away. Please take away the warning so that in Future I get extra warning when I make genuine mistake and not your perceived mistake. Sayanoffi (talk) 18:47, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Alrighty. It can be retracted but you just have to be extra careful and read up WP:ICTF guidelines in full. Just be extra careful and do not incite any more warnings. You are in the right direction and can become a very good editor. Just let me know if you want any help or directions. Happy editing. @Charliehdb is also a veteran editor in film articles, who can also help you out navigating them. Good luck :) — The Herald (Benison) (talk) 05:04, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yed I request you to lift off warning as I am here to do nothing but good for Wikipedia. Just I am concerned about the fact that certain website and journal which are reliable under Wikipedia policy they are also taking help from Sacnilk that is considered unreliable by the former that's the reason I am getting warning even after adding policy approved journal as it contains the taken help from Sacnilk phrase. So in that case even if I add Policy approved Journals I am getting block warnings so I have no choice so please give me the solution against it. And also guide the way that how to understand if a certain website that is not included in Wikipedia such as Chinese Japanese European or any other in sake of their domestic information as how do I understand that those website if I add in Wikipedia will follow policy as its imposible for wikipedia to make a guideline having millions of website. Please do respond Sayanoffi (talk) 12:22, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Read up WP:FRUIT also. — The Herald (Benison) (talk) 13:39, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I urge you again to read every single line in WP:ICTFSOURCES. IMDB is not a reliable source. Stick to the guidelines strictly and please do not add unreliable sources or the sources which uses other unreliable sources like Sacnilk.com as their source. Thanks. — The Herald (Benison) (talk) 13:47, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Read but still unclear that hoe will I understand from a ton of website that which one with comply with Wikipedia Guidelines let's give an example an Indian movie RRR collection in Japan where the producers are not associated so RRR collection will be disclosed by local Japanese website for which there is no guidelines in Wikipedia so how it's understood that it's ok to give that website as citation by the person who edited the RRR japanese collection page with the japanese citation. Sayanoffi (talk) 13:48, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't think you did, because the first line says not to use IMDB, which you ignored. For other citations, you can use WP:HOWTOCITE for more. You can ask for help inWP:TEAHOUSE. Also please use proper punctuations and full stops when you are replying to messages in talk page. Thanks. — The Herald (Benison) (talk) 13:52, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Agreed, but I am Still unclear how to understand Wikipedia Policy for citation using foreign website which Wikipedia don't have guidelines for reliability, also I didn't ignored your advice to avoid 'IMDB' as it was a mistake as I couldn't find the policy where it is Stated that IMDB is not reliable and my question was not based for IMDB but for foreign Website stating statistics of Indian movie overseas collection there where producers are not engaged but the local journal publications publish the data in case of the Japanese journal published RRR collection in Japan. Sayanoffi (talk) 13:58, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
In such a case, you have to use international media or Indian sources which are deemed reliable per ICTFSOURCES and WP:RS/P. Local media and journals won't be accepted. If no such sources mention it, then it's better to avoid that altogether. Remember that Wikipedia has no deadline and it doesn't matter if some of the information is outdated. As long as you provide proper citations, it should be okay. Additionally, Wikipedia is not a newspaper or a journal. Nothing is going to happen to the world if you do no provide exact BO figures. An estimate is more than fine. PS: Please use shorter sentences with full stops and proper punctuations rather than a barrage of indecipherable incoherent sentences joined together with 'and'. Thanks and happy editing. — The Herald (Benison) (talk) 14:09, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. In that case I would take help from reputable international website since a movie Box office collection is crutial if not only criteria to achieve success. If you feel that some international website citing for overseas collection of the very country is inaccurate or non reliable, please don't hesitate to tell rather than giving block warnings. Thank you. Sayanoffi (talk) 15:08, 30 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Movie editing

edit

That means I can use sources where the makers are not involved. Then tell me can I use sources like Times of India. Also how can I understand that in which sources makers are not involved You are reverting answers which are inaccurate as the collection of the movie is increased in day 2 and you are publishing day 1 collection which is also a kind of vandalism as it doesn't reflect the original collection Sayanoffi (talk) 11:58, 29 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Full names

edit

Hello. Re the edit, please note that we don’t have to use full names every time. There is no confusion because there are no two Charans, or two Keeravanis in the article. People can understand who they are by last name. Ab207 (talk) 06:46, 20 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Why they are seemed to be unconstructive as I have used citation as per wikipedia policy and modified data according to accurate information in circulation. Please explain the problem Sayanoffi (talk) 13:59, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
