editYou should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here. You may also read our FAQ for article subjects.
Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change to this account.- To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
- If you prefer to change the username of this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page):
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
.
Important items to note:
- The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
- The new username you choose cannot already be taken and used by another account. You can search here to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns, "There is no global account for [username]", that means it is available.
- Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".
Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, department, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page): {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
.
While changing your username as instructed is sufficient for the block to be removed, please see WP:COI and WP:PAID. 331dot (talk) 16:04, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
I've renamed you. Please review the pages I indicated above. 331dot (talk) 16:36, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
Hello Sebisays. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Sebisays. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Sebisays|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 21:36, 13 October 2024 (UTC)
- I am not paid to do these edits. I am an academic who primarily wants to contribute and who tries to better understand the nature of Wikipedia. Hence, my edits that follow exactly what was asked from me to publish a simple topic in a niche. 2A02:1210:201C:0:64FD:ADEE:D349:3EC2 (talk) 04:47, 14 October 2024 (UTC)

- It’s my own blog through which I share my empirical studies (for free), which I undertake in my free time to offer better study material for my students at the universities where I teach. None of the universities pay for my empirical studies. Hence, SBR Academy is a non-profit organisation. Sebisays (talk) 10:11, 14 October 2024 (UTC)

I moved it back to draft space. It is not at all clear how Schlimm meets WP:NACADEMIC, so I think draftifying is the better alternative for you, instead of it being deleted right away. The article very much needs independent sources. This means sources that are not written by Schlimm or someone close to him, and that do not promote him. Geschichte (talk) 07:43, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
