Speedy deletion nomination of User:Seemancemano
editA tag has been placed on User:Seemancemano requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Need a hand?
editHello, Seemancemano. I moved the draft you were working on to Draft:Ed Seeman because it was in the wrong place and in danger of being deleted as a result. I also did some basic formatting and a little copy-editing, and in particular I separated the references you are citing from the big wall of text so that other editors can easily find them. Wikipedia articles, particularly biographies of living persons, must have citations to reliable sources that are independent of the topic in order to establish the topic's notability; it looks as though you have several of those, but information is missing from many of them and in some cases I couldn't tell which information belonged to which citation. (I may have grouped some incorrectly, so please check the draft against your information and correct it as needed.) Ideally each reference cited should have author, publication date, and (for print sources) page number.
While I'm here, I note that your username indicates that you may be affiliated with Ed Seeman, or may be Ed Seeman yourself. If that is the case, please read Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines so that you do not run afoul of them inadvertently.
Finally, I would like to invite you to visit The Teahouse, Wikipedia's friendly spot for asking questions about how to edit Wikipedia. Volunteers there can help with any issues you encounter while preparing your draft to be made into an article. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 19:39, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

- You may want to take a look at the tutorial or, for a more playful approach, at The Wikipedia Adventure. You may also want to check out WP:Your first article; please note, though, that writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is strongly discouraged due to the inherent conflict of interest. Wikipedia content should be a summary (in our own words, to avoid copyright issues) of what reliable secondary sources have reported about the subject, and you should cite those sources so our readers can verify that the summary is accurate. Copyright violation in Draft:Ed Seeman
editHello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the page Draft:Ed Seeman, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition was deleted under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text—which means allowing other people to modify it—then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later, and the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License." You may also e-mail or mail the Foundation to release the content. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more.
While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 21:30, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
Creating new articles
editCreating new articles from a blank start is one of the harder tasks on Wikipedia. In future I urge you to use the Article Wizard to create a draft under the Articles for Creation project. There, an experienced editor will review your draft once you think it is ready. Only when a reviewer approves will the draft be moved to the main article space. This avoids the situation where a deletion is requested soon after the initial version of an article is posted. Also, please read Wikipedia's Golden Rule and Your First Article, if you have not already done so. The advice there can be very helpful, in my view. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 22:54, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
Here are some steps you might want to follow:
- First, review our guideline on notability, our policy on verifibility, and our specific guideline on the notability of people. Consider whether your subject clearly meets the standards listed there.
- Second, read how to create Your First Article and referencing for beginners and again consider if you want to go ahead.
- Third, If you have any connection or affiliation with the subject, disclose it in accordance with our guideline on Conflict of interest. If you have been or expect to be paid for making edits, or are making them as part of your job, disclose this according to the strict rules of the Paid-contribution disclosure. This is absolutely required; omitting it can result in you being blocked from further editing.
- Fourth, gather sources. You want independent, professionally published, reliable sources with each discussing the subject in some detail. If you can't find several such sources, stop; an article will not be created! Sources do NOT need to be online, or in English, although it is helpful if at least some are. The "independent" part is vital. Wikipedia does not consider as independent sources such as press releases, or news stories based on press releases, or anything published by the subject itself or an affiliate of the subject. Strictly local coverage is also not preferred. Regional or national newspapers or magazines, books published by mainstream publishers (not self-published), or scholarly journals are usually good. So are online equivalents of these. (Additional sources may verify particular statements but not discuss the subject in detail. But those significant detailed sources are needed first.)
- Fifth, use the article wizard to create a draft under the articles for creation project. This is always a good idea for an inexperienced editor, but in the case of an editor with a conflict of interest it is essential.
- Sixth, use the sources gathered before (and other sources you may find along the way) to write the article. Cite all significant statements to sources. Do not express opinions or judgements, unless they are explicitly attributed to named people or entities, preferably in a direct quotation, and cited to a source. Do not use puffery or marketing-speak. Provide page numbers, dates, authors and titles for sources to the extent these are available. A title is always needed.
- Seventh, when (well perhaps if) your draft is declined, pay attention to the comments of the reviewer, and correct the draft and resubmit it. During this whole process, if you face any unresolvable editing hurdles, or cannot comprehend any editing issue, feel free to post a request at the Teahouse or the help desk and ask the regulars. Repeat this until the draft passes review.
Congratulations, you have now created a valid Wikipedia article. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 22:55, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

- See WP:Referencing for beginners on how to easily create nicely-formatted footnotes for your sources. See WP:Identifying reliable sources on the kinds of sources Wikipedia is looking for.
- Please also take a moment to review WP:IMPERSONATION. You will need to provide proof of your identity by email via WP:OTRS. I'm sorry for this bureaucratic hassle, but you'll appreciate that to others you're just some anonymous person with a username, and we cannot tell your real identity. We would not want some troll trying to impersonate you and conduct misdeeds in your name. Huon (talk) 00:23, 27 September 2017 (UTC)

editIf you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You may choose to edit under a new username (see information below), but keep in mind that you are welcome to continue to edit under this username. If you choose to do so, we ask the following:
- Please be willing and able to prove your identity to Wikipedia.
- Please send an email to info-en wikimedia.org. Be aware that the volunteer response team that handles email is indeed operated entirely by volunteers, and the reply may not be immediate.
If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).
A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
- Adding
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Adding
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Huon (talk) 00:24, 27 September 2017 (UTC)Seemancemano (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))

editHello, I'm DVdm. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Frank Zappa, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Ed Seeman. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. - DVdm (talk) 10:40, 22 December 2017 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link, as you did at Ed Seeman. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. - DVdm (talk) 14:23, 23 January 2018 (UTC)

edit{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Yunshui 雲水 14:58, 15 February 2018 (UTC)Enough is enough; many editors have informed you of our policies with regards to editing an article about yourself, yet you have continued to add unsourced self-promotion to the Wikipedia's article about you. It is very clear that you have no intention of contributing constructively to Wikipedia, but merely want to ensure that the Wikipedia article reflects your opinion of yourself. That is not going to continue.
If there are factual errors in the article about you, you may use the {{help me}}
template on this talkpage to alert other users so that they can assess and potentially make corrections where necessary. However, you are not going to be permitted to edit the article again. Yunshui 雲水 14:58, 15 February 2018 (UTC)
