User reviews
editHi there. I saw you added user reviews to Superman IV: The Quest for Peace. The problem is that we only catalog reviews from professional journalists. Per our guidelines for film-related articles, user reviews at Rotten Tomatoes and the IMDb shouldn't be added to Wikipedia. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 02:25, 3 April 2016 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Chris Stuckmann
editHello SeinfeldSaltyDischarge,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Chris Stuckmann for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Erick Shepherd (talk) 23:30, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Ali-A has been reverted.
Your edit here to Ali-A was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://youtube.com/AliA, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GS0H3XGEPkk, https://www.youtube.com/user/MoreAliA/about, http://youtube.com/AliA) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Proposed deletion of Ali-A
editThe article Ali-A has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable person.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Brianga (talk) 20:15, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Dawson Haase
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Dawson Haase requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 2601:188:0:ABE6:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 02:18, 19 April 2016 (UTC)

edit- The reason for this is that the username gives off the impression that it's referring to a specific bodily fluid, given the way it's phrased and how the fluid is commonly referred to on the Internet. Now I also want to give some feedback about the film article, which I'll do in another section, however I want to give you this one caution here in specific since it seems likely that you're the people who created the film itself. How you represent yourself name-wise matters a lot to people. Choosing a goofy username can sometimes work out well, however it's not really a good idea to choose ones that refer to bodily fluids, especially if you're trying to publicize your work. The reason for this is that it's hard for people to take the person seriously with usernames like this, especially media outlets. Some news outlets might otherwise want to write about your stuff, but don't really want to write about something if the person making the bulk of edits to various outlets is going by a username that could be seen as vulgar. It just doesn't give off a good impression and first impressions are direly important in showbusiness because of the sheer amount of people looking to get noticed. Now on Wikipedia it's not a good idea because it makes it harder to assume that you're here for serious reasons, as people with usernames like this are usually just here to vandalize things or otherwise make non-constructive edits. You can be unblocked, but you'll have to change your username. I would also recommend that you not edit on things that you are personally related to. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:22, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Tokyogirl79: I'm grinning as I write this: you were obviously not a Seinfeld fan! Semen? No, this is an extremely innocuous and well-known joke -- to the rest of us, anway -- from an episode where Jerry cries. Did you Google it first? See here. Here is the video of the immortal moment, which I assure you is very G-rated. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 20:02, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
- @Shawn in Montreal: Nope, never saw it. So I guess an unblock is in order? Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 02:44, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
- OK, unblocked. I guess I'm probably one of the only ten people in America who don't know the joke. XD Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 02:45, 3 August 2016 (UTC)
Notability for films
editHere's the promised content about film notability. (WP:NFILM) The basic gist of this guideline is that a film should not be on Wikipedia unless it passes notability guidelines for films. This can be established via coverage in independent and reliable sources like newspaper articles and reviews in outlets that would be considered WP:RS. User edited content like Wikia pages or IMDb cannot show notability and really shouldn't be used in articles at all, as anyone can edit and manipulate those pages. I myself saw how easy it was to edit IMDb and insert false information last year, when someone created multiple pages for films and TV shows that seem to have never existed.
Unfortunately independent films, especially homemade student productions and fan films, rarely gain coverage at all, let alone enough to pass NFILM. It's not always fair, however there's not much that can be done about this. It doesn't mean that it isn't admirable that the cast and crew got together to create the film. It's just that NFILM is extremely difficult to pass and I've seen a lot of fan productions get deleted despite having a mild amount of coverage. It's a shame, but it happens, and it's not something to take personally.
One additional thing to be careful of: copyright. Someone mentioned that it looked like you copied one of the prior films' posters fairly closely. Many major studios will turn a blind eye to the creation of fan work, however you really need to be careful that a poster doesn't look too terribly close to an official one, at least if you're using it to promote a production you're making yourself. It's kind of a gray area of "will they respond or won't they". Most of the time their action depends on whether or not you're trying to make money off of the film, though. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:31, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
- Also, a note on establishing notability for people. This is also very difficult to establish, especially for YT personalities, as most won't gain the type of coverage (or enough of it) to satisfy notability guidelines. You need in-depth coverage of the person and/or their work (as long as they were a substantial contributor or sole creator of the material). Most YT personalities don't get this and their follow/subscription and view counts do not count towards notability on Wikipedia. My best two examples of how difficult it is to establish notability is that until about 2013, PewDiePie was not considered notable enough for his own article, despite (if I remember correctly) him being the most subscribed Let's Player on the site. Heck, someone created an article for Dan Avidan (of GameGrumps, Ninja Sex Party, and StarBombs fame) this year and it was almost deleted despite the group being incredibly well known online. Myself and others had to really fight for that one, so this can be seen as an example of how difficult it can be to establish notability. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。)
Orphaned non-free image File:Batman Unveiled Poster.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Batman Unveiled Poster.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:31, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
August 2016
editHello! Thank you for your recent contributions to Caillou Pettis (actor). I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:
|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]
Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:
|image=SomeImage.jpg
.
There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption
. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! Speedy deletion nomination of Omnicron
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Omnicron, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. ... discospinster talk 15:27, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
