Request

Can you do a category cleanup on Shade (comics)? You really don't have to reply on my talk page, I'd prefer it if you would just leave a comment on the article's discussion page concerning your edit. Regards, Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 20:54, 27 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I started to remove "teleport", due to magic use, but honestly, it's more due to "darkness manipulation" which has been listified.
So on one hand it should be removed but on the other it should be kept.
Probably not worth the debate : )
Probably be better off dealing with the "fictional characters by in-universe characteristic" categories en-masse.
See if a consensus can be determined at the comics WikiProject? Almost all of the cats are mostly populated by comics-related characters.
I hope this helps. - jc37 23:41, 31 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Blackfire disambig

Spider-Man

Hello. :) Since you have been involved in editing the article Spider-Man, I wanted to let you know that we have nominated the article for "Good Article" status. You can view the review page, and if there is anything you can do to make the article better, please do so. :) There are a number of concerns to be addressed and some work to be done, so pitch in if you are able, make any suggestions that you think might be helpful, or at least just be there for moral support. :) BOZ (talk) 00:47, 10 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Just to let you know

I've created the articles on the new game Saiyan Invasion and the soundtrack for Evolution you may want to keep tabs on. Also, In case you haven't been watching, I updated Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!! with information it desperately needed. Sarujo (talk) 01:57, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I actually did put Saiyan Invasion and its redirect on my watchlist earlier today. I can take care of those for a while. Considering that I have more than 3,090 links watchlisted, I'll do my best to remember looking at the other ones every now and then. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 02:11, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
As you may have already seen the changes to the already changed Final Bout article. More spesifically, the playable characters I really want the the section all DB gamming article to flow as such without the use of list. Any thoughts? Sarujo (talk) 03:01, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
You're sure listing isn't a good idea? I don't know how it would be better off any other way. Have you noticed that Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi (series) doesn't even reference the playable characters? A list is prolly the best way of going at it. Either that or nothing at all. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 16:49, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
As I recall some time ago that editors were removing character list from gamming article citing that it was game guide content. The paragraphing was my way of compromising. Chrono Trigger, an RPG, features its character information as a sub-section in paragraph form with a main link to the character list page. If we remove the section all together we get all kinds anonymous IP's coming in and re-adding it in even worse shape. My personal reasoning was the Infinite World article and the shape it's in. People adding every character's transformations and listing GT incarnations as separate charaters when more than likely there just alternate skins the likes of Budokai 3.
As for that series article, it was my impression that all the characters in that column were playable (Shoulder shrug). Sarujo (talk) 22:16, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Batman (film)

I fail to see the point in adding this to Batman (disambiguation). If people land on Batman (disambiguation) while looking for either of the Batman films, surely they will find it right there, won't they? There seems to me to be no navigational advantage to pointing people to another page that repeats information already found on the page they are reading. Oob

Just for the record, and I'm sure you should know this better than anyone, most of the Dragon Ball characters don't have a definite romanization to their names. Most of the time, Japanese publishers can't decide whether it's Kulilin vs. Krilyn, or Freeza vs. Frieza, or even Gokou vs. Goku. Although, Oob is what is used in the Super Battle Collection figure. I'm not sure if that's the ONLY romanization used in Japan, but Majin Boo is used more commonly there than Buu, which makes sense they used Oob over Ubu or Uub. Just wanted to let you know. :p Jonny2x4 (talk) 02:46, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Madara

Both Madara Rider and Madara Peak are both regularly called just "Madara", so I don't know where you are getting your information. I can see your point about the fictional character, though I disagree with the "incorrect" example they give. On the others, though, you are incorrect. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 21:23, 22 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, but I don't know where you're getting your information. The guidelines are pretty clear though. What am I incorrect on? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 21:26, 22 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Did you read what I wrote? Both Madara Rider and Madara Peak are both regularly called just "Madara", so listing them as I did is perfectly acceptable. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 21:28, 22 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I obviously know you're saying to me. However, the fact is that both those pages do not explicitly convey something like "also known as Madara" or "simply known as Madara". That's what WP:PIPING#Exceptions pretty much tells us. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 21:35, 22 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
These have nothing to do with piping at all. This is the same thing as a train station with the same name as a city, for example. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 21:41, 22 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Then Nihonjoe, you're better off asking for clarification at WT:MOSDAB or WT:WPDIS. I have nothing more to reveal to you at this time. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 21:51, 22 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

DB Names

I totally don't remember that conversation anymore. What was the reason we said Funi dubs/subs over the manga, when all others use the manga? Re the redirects, if nothing else is called "Oob" and "Ubu" why are their pages for them? I see no reason to clutter the character list with those redirect templates or to presume someone typing in "Oob" means a minor character in a niche media over one of the others. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 21:57, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dunno, the majority of editors just opted for that, probably because of WP:COMMONNAMES or something. If you dig hard enough through the archives, you'll find it. Look for the discussion that User:A Link to the Past initiated. And about the hatnoting, how is it clutter? If that's the only topic that goes by that spelling of the name, then there should not be anything wrong with it. Believe me, when it comes to dabbing, this kind of stuff goes into play. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 22:04, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Its cluttering because there are two stacked in a very short section on what appears to be a really minor character. I wonder if that decision came before the changes at the MoS to go with primary over secondary if both are in English? Hmmm....-- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 22:14, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hang on, I'll combine it into one hat. Oh, did you find the archive? I seem to remember that it took place during last summer. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 22:21, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Chi

Pray tell, what's the meaning of this reversion: [1] ? Chi () was a standard unit of length in China until the early 20th century, and is frequently mentioned in historical literature in English - certainly in a lot more books than arpent or arshin. (Incidentally, it's shaku in Japanese). Vmenkov (talk) 01:08, 27 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

There was no reference in those links to "chi" or similar, the entire edit was redundant. If you don't like the guidelines WP:DAB and MoS:DP, please initiate a discussion on WT:WPDIS. Regards, Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 22:32, 27 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Handphone

"Says who?" isn't a valid reason to undo my changes in the cell phone article. I already put my reasons in the discussion page. You want further proof it's not standard English?Go here: [2] . You see it says Malaysia? Do a search on the internet for handphone and you'll see only Southeast Asian countries, as well as Korea companies being the ones who call it that.

Also quoting an international newspaper where the native language isn't English shouldn't be used as a source. Living in Korea now, I know there's plenty of Konglish words as well that are wrong from standard English that appear in newspapers written by non native speakers. They call a convertible "open car" in Korea. Does that mean I should go to the convertible article and put "also known as a open car" and list it first as well?

Furthermore all the other cell phone names are more commonly used in native English speaking countries, so they should be listed before handphone. Again "says who" doesn't warrant an "undo." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bluesoju (talkcontribs) 01:26, 31 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I didn't really undo the edit, it was more of a partial revert actually. Look at what was modified [3]. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 22:02, 31 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Rollback and 3RR

Hello, Sesshomaru, I am here to let you know that I feel that you have misused the rollback tools on the edits here and here. Rollback is strictly for reverting vandalism only. Edits such as these would have been better suited with an undo, a descriptive reason as to why the action was done, and proper discussion on the talk page. As such, I am warning you that any further misuse of the rollback function will result in you having the feature taken away. Also, be warned that you and Gamer112 are quickly approaching an edit war. If you both continue to revert over and over you both may eventually be blocked for a 3RR violation. Please engage in constructive discussion on the talk page before making such edits. Regards, Icestorm815Talk 00:46, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

My main concern is that the edits were reverted and that there was no discussion with the user on your talk page, his/her talk page, or the article's talk page for the edits that were made yesterday. The user may have not made edits that conform to policy, but it wasn't any form of vandalism. The user was trying to make an honest effort to contribute and much frustration has been building up due to the lack of communication. Also, I don't want you to think that I singled you out in any way. I did talk to Gamer112 about the same thing as I did with you and SemBubenny was not involved in the recent reverts. I want you to know that I greatly appricate that you did talk to Gamer112 and have tried to initiate conversation. Hopefully that will sort things out. Cheers, Icestorm815Talk 19:48, 6 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

How to phrase "Jim" carrey

Your question of why the phrasing "James Eugene Carrey (born January 17, 1962), best known as Jim Carrey," is better or worse is a valid question. It hinges on the fact that "Jim" is not a nickname in the classic sense but rather a diminutive, or sortening, of "James". As opposed to a "true" nickname that is derived from circumstance, like "Sting" or "Shoeless Joe". So "Jim Carrey" isn't a replacement for his name, it really is his name, just the short form. Whereas no one would be expected to believe "Bono" is short for anything. Hope that clears it up. If not, pop by my talkpage and let me know how I can help. I am really glad to see that consensus has finally been reached on the names. I personally prefer the manga names, but really, thats not whats important. I do however, want to push for more cleaning up of the Dragon Ball articles (the character list in particular needs major cutting), and more merges (I did sucessfully finish up one for a video game, see Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors (series)). The reason I quit was, well, a combination of a lot of things. It was mostly wikistress though, as the Saga articles and the complaints I recieved from them, plus all the edit conflicts and wars and ludicriously long disscussions. Hopefully, my wikibreak has let me recover from all this, and I should be around for quite a while. Also, check out my propositions for the Dragon Ball articles at the Talk page for the Dragon Ball work group. Anyway, its great to be back, DBZROCKSIts over 9000!!! 22:55, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

In your opinion...

Does this person strike you as incredibly similar to our old acquaintance Jupiter Optimus Maximus (aka Illustrious One, aka YourLord)? The contribution history seems very similar to me, with similar patterns (unreferenced psychoanalysis of fictional characters, adding categories related to such, concern over List of fictional narcissists, etc.). Also he identifies as being from Chester, England, and all of JOM's previous IPs trace to the same general area (Manchester, Liverpool, & Chester, which are adjacent to each other). There's enough of a similarity here for me to consider opening up a SPI, but I thought I'd ask for second opinions first. --IllaZilla (talk) 21:32, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re this revert - I thought WP:PIPING#Exceptions wouldn't apply to Eugene (wrestler) because of how it's disambiguated, ie it fails the "...and could serve as an alternative name for the target article" requirement? eg Paris, France could serve as an alternative name, but Paris (France) couldn't (because in practice, bracketed disambiguations always get piped)...? 58.8.7.75 (talk) 23:54, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

DBZ character talk page

Hey mate. I'm asking if you'd be interested to check out the section I opened on the DBZ character talk page in regards to merging. It deals with moving many of the characters listed in the secondary section to the other (tertiary) section, as many more influential and important characters have now been merged or deleted. It would only be proper to sustain and maintain the same consensus on the entire page; I haven't made any changes as of yet as it may not be considered constructive to move characters without a proper debate. Those that are debatable, I've listed them in the same format and hope to get your vote for keeps and merges into the other section. I've only listed the ones I've found to be primarily lesser appearing characters and who are limited to one or two sagas at the most in their appearance, or remain background characters for the most part. As many of the characters who are listed in the secondary section are actually much lesser than those in the other, I was hoping to hear from you and get your votes on the matter. - Zarbon (talk) 23:54, 19 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Category removal.

Thanks for removing those categorys from the project space articles. I meant to take those off today, but got sidetracked. Blake (Talk·Edits) 23:24, 8 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Disputing undone edit

Hey, I don't understand the reason why you undid my edit on Tupac Shakur's page. I double spaced the entire article, removed many redundant links, and was then told I was overlinking the page because I linked things like Nevada and California...I don't see why adding some insubstantial links why improving the neatness of a very messed up page should result in a complete undoing.

I'm not trying to start a fight here, just interested...Thanks in advance, JustW353 (talk) 05:30, 9 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dates are not to be wiki-linked (MOS:UNLINKDATES), non-existent links like Chuck Phillips shouldn't be removed per WP:RED and you overlinked a number of common things for nothing. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 14:44, 9 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I could have undone all the unneeded link...If it's alright with you, can I undo your edit and remove all the links I added? That way I can remove the redundant links, keep the slightly rewritten areas, and keep it double spaced? JustW353 (talk) 00:01, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
The links were removed but, what rule says it is best to "double space"? And what do you plan to rewrite exactly? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:07, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Where can I find this "official Wikipedia rulebook"?JustW353 (talk) 00:36, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
WP:PG is probably what you're looking for. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:40, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Well from what I read on Talk:Double-spaced sentences, there is no official rule on spacing after periods, but I personally think it makes a large page easier to read. JustW353 (talk) 00:43, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dragon Ball hatnotes

Every time I've tried to remove them in the past, I've been reverted by you, so it seems best to start here. Those hatnotes in the character list are an eyesore, and those characters really aren't important enough to need to be accessed directly through redirects that should just go to the dab pages instead. All of those redirects should definitely be changed to go to the disambiguation pages, and if any of them have history, they should be moved to something like "No. 17 (Dragon Ball)" beforehand. TTN (talk) 13:06, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I could see the removal of the "(number)" hat. It's probably the most out of place one there. If it weren't for WP:HNP, the hats would be at their respective sections anyway. But, see where Vizard takes you for instance. I'd rather we follow that layout instead of re-redirecting those things to disambiguation pages. Thoughts? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:52, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Overall, other than Shen Long, none of the redirects really are useful, though. I doubt anyone is actually going to use Bū or "Ūbu to search, and given how minor the character is, it is unnecessary to give it priority for "Oob." I would also say the the mythological dragon is probably more important than the character. TTN (talk) 23:03, 12 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
OK, I guess we'll just keep the Shen Long hat, though should we go with the Vizard layout? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:44, 13 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Just to let you know I reverted your edits. I believe that the video game character to be more deserving of the redirect than sharing it with the Matrix character, who is less famous and has an article on the verge of deletion. Either way, there's still a "Link (character) redirects here, for other characters..." on the Zelda guy's page Purplebackpack89 (talk) 03:20, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Whatever. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 23:15, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
