Contested deletion

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (your reason here) --Shanemckinney (talk) 20:19, 6 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

I just started building this article and its nominated for deletion? Jose Raymond is a major IFBB professional sports figure and an Essential Iron sponsored athlete. Jose Raymond is a well-known athlete and a professional bodybuilder that competes at the Olympia level (212). Olympia predated the super bowl by two years.

A simple search of Google should show Jose Raymond to be well established especially to individuals who follow the sport. I have no idea what the Singapore Google search was about.

I am NOT Jose Raymond. I am happy to provide reference to my personal Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and even facetime to prove this is not "self-promotion." Or really any means you have to prove that is fine by me. I am a bodybuilder. I am an amateur and am not compensated in any form, nor was I asked to create this page. I am not a sponsored athlete. I was searching bodybuilders and noticed that Dave Palumbo was indexed while Jose Raymond was not and being I follow Jose Raymond and his career, I figured I would be adventurous, dive in, and help out.

Please reconsider the deletion as this figure also deserves inclusion into Wikipedia.

@Shanemckinney: None of this Raymond's bodybuilding credentials were mentioned in the article. There is a burden of proof on the creator of the article to include an assertion of significance. Competition at the Olympia level might be enough to at least clear the speedy-deletion hurdle.
The prior version of the article referred to a different Raymond from Singapore. —C.Fred (talk) 20:26, 6 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

@C.Fred Thank you for your reply. Yes, this article is very limited as it stands now. And that is because I abruptly stopped when I noticed my first sentence had been marked for deletion. Then I read the deletion recommendations, suggesting potential "dubious" actions on my part and the recommended removal of the entire article. I wanted to first clear that up prior to returning to the article. Fortunate for me Jose Raymond has a long professional bodybuilding career that spans nearly two decades, he currently competes at both the Arnold Classic as well as Olympia. There are many publications that can and will be cited --- If you allow me to continue. Thanks again for your consideration, I would enjoy the opportunity to continue and show my intent is, in fact, genuine and aligned to Wikipedia rules and regulations.
