Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:59, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Juan de Torquemada

edit

Hi, I see you made some small edits to Fray Juan de Torquemada on 2 December 2013. I myself had had a go at improving the article the following January (when it was a mess), and again this month.

But when I looked at the article's talk page just now I remembered that I had despaired of improving the article through piecemeal amendments, and embarked instead on drafting a major re-write which you can review HERE if you wish. My work takes account of Léon-Portilla's biographical essay (1983) published as volume 7 of IIH edition of Torquemada which I take to be the latest, best and fullest account of the life. As you can see, the article attracts little to no interest (only you, me and Amuseclio since December 2013, and nothing but minor edits as far back as April 2010).

The article as it stands remains inadequate, especially since (i) it fails to give proper prominence to Torquemada's non-literary accomplishments, and (as to those) (ii) lacks any mention of the most contested issue, namely the charge of plagiarism.

If it's not too much bother, would you care to tell me what you think of my draft and if it's worth moving it over? I have notified Amuseclio too. Thanks. Ridiculus mus (talk) 11:21, 29 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Christoph Weiditz

edit

Hi, I'm Boleyn. Sinaloa, thanks for creating Christoph Weiditz!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. This needs more inline citations and I have removed the links to dates, as we don't add these on English Wikipedia. Thanks for creating this missing article.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Yaryshiv moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Yaryshiv, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:Yaryshiv

edit

Hello, Sinaloa. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Yaryshiv".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
