Issue with your signature
editHi - I noticed you tried to ping me on the Teahouse talk page re: Wikipedia:Teahouse#Is_Dr_Beth_Latimer_a_Good_Subject?/COI, but I wasn't actually pinged. Nick may not have been either - will have to ask him. I had the same problem and another editor pointed out that it was the way my signature file was configured. I changed the spelling to match and that fixed it. I noticed your user name is SmileyTrek, yet the signature just shows as Smiley. Not sure if that has anything to do with it but you could test it by changing it to match and pinging me here, and I'll let you know if it worked. @Timtempleton: Yeah, I put a custom signature down, do you not recommend that?Smiley (talk) 21:52, 28 March 2019 (U
- SmileyTrek: I did get a ping from you a few moments ago from the Teahouse. I would like to ask you to stop posting in bold please. This is very irritating and not needed there or anywhere else really. Personally, I also don't like seeing any user with one username displaying a different name in their signature, as you've just done. I find this quite annoying, too, especially when I'm taking the trouble to answer their questions and then find I have to p**s around working out what their real username is before I can ping them. Please make all our lives easier by keeping it the same, please. Nick Moyes (talk) 22:15, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
@Nick Moyes: @Timtempleton: Okay, I've changed my signature so its the same as my username, and I will no longer post comments in bold. I apologize for the confusion. SmileyTrek (talk) 13:13, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks - I’m getting pinged properly now. TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 14:13, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
- No worries. We have tons of conventions here, so the best way is for us to point a few of the obvious ones out that help you, as it were, fit in. Cheers, Nick Moyes (talk) 14:16, 29 March 2019 (UTC)

Hotling Bling
editI saw you put a maintenance tag on "Hotline Bling" for having a broken link. I plan on taking the article to GA, so I wondering if you could tell me which one it is so I can fix it. The Ultimate Boss (talk) 03:51, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
Sure thing, I put the maintenance tag on. It was after I discovered one link was broken. I don't think I investigated the issue any further to see if any other links were broken, so this is the only link I have for you: Reference #20 of Wikipage 'Hotline Bling'. Glad I could be of help. Good look with that trip to GA. SmileyTrek (talk) 04:01, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
Temporary IP Block Request
editEDIT (ADDED AFTER APPROVAL): The subject matter of the request pertains to the middle of the week mentioned (from the 3rd of November in the year of 2020. (Subject Matter)
SmileyTrek (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
Caught by a colocation web host block but I was using one because I was severely doxxed by strangers who used my IP to find a location they thought was my home. I had never used a VPN before then, so a friend gave a quick crash course. He did not mention that some websites block VPN IPs. I will not use the VPN if you don't want me too, but if I can get more than an unblock, would you please give me an IP Block Exception, as I usually forget to turn off things like my VPN. Thank youSmileyTrek (talk) 19:06, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
Accept reason:
I will grant you a temporary IP block exemption; for a longer term one, you will need to follow the instructions at WP:IPECPROXY to contact a checkuser to request one. 331dot (talk) 10:47, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
I got your emails, don't worry about emailing me, I just rarely respond to them because most of the time they come from sockpuppets. Happy editing with your extended IPBE. :) -- Amanda (aka DQ) 05:33, 7 November 2020 (UTC) @AmandaNP: Thank you for the heads up! SmileyTrek (talk) 20:32, 17 November 2020 (UTC)
Deletion of Teahouse
editWith this edit you deleted half of the Teahouse. I have reverted it. If you were attempting to suppress an edit, that didn't do it. See Wikipedia:Oversight. —teb728 t c 02:25, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
