As of 2001 India census[2], Baskhari had a population of 19,634. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Baskhari has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 59%. In Baskhari, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Westridge Hilton School-Westridge Hilton School is founded by Mr. Bakshish Khan, a Baskhari resident. He is a seniour Cambrige student and Graduated from Calcutta (now Kolkata) in Commerce. When Mr Bakshish Khan visited London (UK) he was very impressed by British education system and on his way back to India he determined to provide high class english education to children in the area. The WHS started from Kinder garten to Standard (Class) 1, with the plan to extend every year respectively. The main mission of the school is to provide good english medium education facility along with extra curricular activity to children living in sorrounding area so that they don't have to travel and live away from their families. Mr. Imran Khan manages the Westridge Hilton School, he is a qualified Engineer and completed his education from Gorakhpur and Bangalore. The Westridge Hilton School is based in the heart of Baskhari town. The School is famous for its colourful campus. They offer excellent transport facility to Children living in and around of Baskhari town centre.

Main Market

Baskhari is famous for fruit market and Medical stores in the center district. Also famous for its station before reaching the famous Shrine of Sufi Saint Hazrat Makhdoom Simnani which is approx. 2 K.M from here. Baskhari lies on the highways of Faizabad and Azamgarh. You can easily find UPT buses for Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur, and Azamgarh, Gorakhpur. Baskahri is the main Police Station and Post office for the surrounding area.

The village also offer the facilities of few banks and ATM aka Cash Machines. The oldest bank here is Bank Of Baroda which is based on Jalalpur Road, Some of the new banks which have been opened recently are State Bank of India which has got the ATM facility,Union Bank on Tanda Road and Punjab National Bank on Akbarpur Road, Baskhari.
