What WikiProject for a draft article about a film

I noticed that "Out of Evil," a 1950-1 Israeli film which was listed on the main program of the 6th Locarno Film Festival, was one of few which did not have its own article. So I drafted one:

- Hi again! @HussainHx:
- I just took a look and this is great! I love new movie pages and it was fun to learn about this film!
- The main concern for any article getting reviewed is notability. I think this is definitely notable (and likely a reviewer would too), but I lean towards inclusionism on Wikipedia. Adding a source or two would help ensure it goes through.
- In all though, this page is well done and there are some easy fixes to make it even better.
- First sentence:
- Generally, you don’t need inline sources in the opening sentence for a film's director and date on film pages
- IMDB is not often used as an inline citation, here's an essay (i.e not a Wikipedia style rule), but I think it's good practice Wikipedia:Citing IMDb. It’s often used for cast lists. And good practice is to make an External Links section (it goes after references) and use the Template:IMDb title ex {{IMDb title|0088247|The Terminator}}
- For the second sentence:
- consider copyright. The second sentence is pretty close to the exact words of the source, so I would change this a bit. This is a low-stakes example, but copyright is always something to watch for.
- Also, this may not be a super strong source (even though it's definitely correct here) Adding another source somewhere would help beef up the page
- Plot sections:
- Plot sections or synopsis sections actually don’t need sources. The film itself is considered the source. I think a smart move is to just keep this source on the page in another section it adds to (which you already did!)
- Reappraisal I would change to Themes
- This follows the naming conventions on other film pages in the Wiki:Manual of Style/Film a little cleaner and it matches with information in this section a little better in my opinion.
- Oh and maybe add a little "Scholar," to Amanda Bernstein. You want to establish why this person is an expert on the topic they are writing on.
- Final fix
- {{CinemaofIsrael}} goes at the bottom of page after the reflist in the source code. (And yes it's totally appropriate here!)
- Looking to lots of other film pages and the Wiki:Manual of Style/Film is super helpful to figure out the style.
- Again, this is really great! On the sources, I know I started by saying "you could add more sources" and then said "these parts don't actually need sources", which sounds counterintuitive, but that's how the wikistyle works :) For notability, any source you could add (maybe a critic review or production detail) would help make sure it's clearly notable to any reviewer, even though I think it's notable already.
- Not sure if this is your first film page, but this is awesome. I hope you keep it up!

- Hey, I got excited by your article and really should have focused on your main question better!
- The WP:Israeli cinema task force totally applies to this film. It's not required to add that to the bottom of the main article page, but it works and fits. Once the article is up the article's Talk page is where you can add other project tags like "WikiProject Film" and countries .
- Also! found a source you could add Israeli Film Archive/Out of Evil and I'll take a look in my library database too, see if I can find a review.

- This is my first film page—my only other article submission so far has been for Triptonide. Thank you for your kind words.
- I appreciate your enthusiasm and guidance so very much. My main concern was the WikiProject but I was hoping to get as much from you as you were willing and able to offer.
- I have made the following changes to the draft:
- Changed IMDB cite from inline to external using template, per custom
- Rephrased synopsis sentence in lede for reasons of copyright and completeness
- Cited Israeli Film Archive (IFA) for sentence in lede as it discusses film in more depth—thank you for locating that
- Added IFA info to infobox with citations for info which appeared more specific than that offered by IMDB (e.g. “84 minutes” instead of “2 hours”)
- Removed inline citation from synopsis section as the film is considered the source
- Renamed Reappraisal to Themes, per MOS:FILM—thank you, I was not certain about this
- Added “scholar” to Bernstein to establish expertise
- Moved \{\{CinemaofIsrael\}\} to the very bottom of the page
- I had already tagged the Talk page with \{\{CinemaofIsrael\}\} and a bot added a banner noting it was also of interest to WP:FILM
- Thank you for the tips and I understand that style can sometimes seem confusing. You mentioned a film critic review would aid the case for notability, and the draft does seem to be missing something in-depth about how the film was received by contemporaries which indicates the motivation for the awards. You also mentioned that production details could also improve notability—such as revenue generated, maybe?

- I took a look at the updated draft. It looks great! Nice work!
- Some simple notes.
- The info box should be the first thing in the source view. The text will auto-correct around it.
- A little different wording on the Venice fact "was screened in competition at" Films aren't nominated for a Golden Lion at Venice, every film in competition is up for the award.
- And:
- I found two scholarly sources you can add! (More than enough to make this film notable to any reviewer!)
- If you can’t get access to the journals yourself. I wrote up a little bit (I would add it to the draft myself (and I can if you want me to), but if this is your first film article I think It’s fun for you to have done it all your self and you can always copy any bits of mine you want)
- My write up:
- This film is part of the “Zionist realism” filmmaking movement.[cite 2] This film making style, as as shown in this film, emphasizes the group over the family and over the individual. [ cite 2] It also re-enforces images of the strong masculine Jewish settler, in contrast with the images of passive “Diaspora Jews” and “effeminate images of Holocaust survivors”.[ cite 1]
- This is super interesting. Films are so fascinating and great cause the are all about constructing images of ourselves and making meaning. And this seems to be part of a whole film movement at the time, really interesting! This was a great film choice to write about I'm glad it will (hopefully) soon be added to Wikipedia!

- @Filmman3000: Of course! I love to see new/improved pages in WikiFilm! On Firewalker (film) the lead is simply too long. I know its always hard when writing a page to separate your own feelings, because whenever I write a page I always think every fact is the most interesting! But it doesn't mean a regular person coming to the page will think so and its better to keep the information easy and accessible for everyone so at a glance people understand it and interested people can dig into the rest of the page for more (ie read the production section for example to find out about Norris' desire to make a comedy, etc.). Also I think you may be misstating the reviews in the lead. Every movie has critics and fans, but here the critics seem to be "generally unfavorable" as from Metacritic.
- Not every film needs a super long lead and with Firewalker I think you could make the production section really clean and polished to included all this information and make the page really really great. I think the key is to think about how quickly some one can get the information and the long lead actually makes the page less readable and more cluttered. I often look to Julieta (film) to see an example of a great film page. Hope this makes sense and if you have any other thoughts and questions reach out! - Yes in the lead section, I chopped minor elements of the plot, reinstated the production paragraph and trimmed it down, and added what the other half of the reviewers said on the film, but trimmed it down from my original.
- I also think that your rating of C-class is correct because there are elements in the later text that I am sure have nothing to do with the film itself. For example in the box office section "Cannon went into financial receivership soon afterwards." I am not sure how consequential Firewalker is responsible to the demise of the studio. This is stuff I didn't add myself but was already there.
- Also the writing could be better on my end.
- For great film page I go to the media feature article section Wikipedia:Featured articles#Media.
- Julieta (film) is a good page but it's a B-Class, I personally feel the lead section is lacking of a plot and production section. But yes the text is good and I totally get your feedback... Thank you.
- Regarding the lead section: 1st paragraph: Title film, genre, year of release, cast, crew, and plot. 2nd Paragraph: Production. 3rd Paragraph: Box office, reviews, and awards. 4th Paragraph: legacy if applicable.
- While it is not an obligated standardization, it is a very common one and the one I prefer. See Starship Troopers and Trading Places.

- @Filmman3000: This is very fair and explains your reasoning really well! I appreciate your response and for linking to Starship Troopers and Trading Places to help me understand. I think a part of my feeling was the nature of some of the prose coupled with my feeling that more "significant films" (like the ones you mentioned or I sometimes look at Back to the Future) have longer leads in this style, but what you're saying is fair. And "Significant" really is a matter of opinion (and number/depth of sources). While I may feel that the plot and production stuff in the lead could be shorter in the case ofFirewalker (film) I think its totally fine. If you'd like I could make one or two edits on the page and see if they are to your taste, but if you like it as is its fine with me :) I think leads can have all that stuff in them, but not be too lengthy. I just default to short over long.
