Good news
Chandralekha (1948 film) has passed its GA review. If ever I was awarded for that on wiki, I would prefer being praised for having brought the article from slumps to GA status in less than a year. ---- Kailash29792 (talk) 04:10, 27 October 2013 (UTC)

concept of Hinduism
Hello there
i am a proud hindu , an engineer , addressing major issue about wikipage of Hinduism
1] Defining Hinduism
there on the wikipage ,
the main concept of hinduism is given with the term 'laws' which is totally incorrect
the law is the one that is 'directly' subjected to the 'punishment' by the authority & indeed that's the common concept of the law and the well-known example is sharia law
the precise word should be the principles
and also
the concept is related with DharmaShastra
Shastra relates to the principles , and not the law
so both ways , the concept of law is totally incorrect
so please address this major issue
& please reply
Trichy
Hi can you find out something about the history of the city during the post-independence era, mainly during the 60s and post 90s period. —Vensatry (Ping me) 16:27, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- There are some leads - i did a plain search and got these - Anti Hindi agitation, Trichy as second capital during MGR's tenure, Mutharasanallur train bombing in 90s and almost all party conferences happening in 90s.Ssriram mt (talk) 00:05, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
Jayalalithaa
Hi, I'm a bit worried that you are setting up for a GA run on Jayalalithaa. It is unstable, poorly written, badly sourced etc and if you check out the talk page then you'll see that the issues are not really going away - periodic clamourings about alleged controversies etc. Sure, it can be improved and that'd be good but having seen some of your efforts on cities, I've got grave doubts about this one as a GA and will likely outright challenge it if the thing is reviewed by anyone from the India project/country. Some of us have spent years trying to sort it out, so help is appreciated but rapid award-hunting is not really the answer, eg: there are definitely some copyright issues and some poor wording even in what you have done today. Sorry if I sound rude: it is not intended but some things are difficult to convey. - Sitush (talk) 01:31, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- GA run?? The article is in shambles and it took a whole day for me to arrange the refs and fit missing citation. I see you are one of the top editors, not only here, but a host of other TN articles, which never cross start-class. It may be an individual preference not allowing articles to be promoted, but nothing is quick in life!! I would be happy if it touches B any time. And with comments in the air and reverts from others, i can very well keep off. The colour filter worked for me - colour filter. I dont see a reason for revert other than showing individual stamp. It is political season and i thought it may be worth improving some of the most read. Award-hunt?!! - cant help, but remember that Indian crab. Peace and let us not waste more time here - article edit is a better exercise.Ssriram mt (talk) 01:51, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- I was overly harsh, yes, and apologise for that. However, your citation style changes did seem often to be wrong ("work" is used for periodicals/journals, for example, not the broadcaster of a news programme - see the "most commonly used" examples at Template:Cite_news). Wikipedia:Accessibility#Color shows that there is a lot more to colouring than contrast &, in particular, the purpose of the colours and the need for them in such a small table was not evident. Introducing unexplained acronyms and linking to a redlinked film in an exemplary list that is otherwise full of bluelinks are also weird things to do - the first is plain wrong/India-centric, the latter is just unnecessary. I'm not opposed to you improving the thing, obviously, but taking it sideways is rather pointless. The table itself was an improvement (thanks) but the formatting of it was not.
Most of my work on that article has been reverting vandalism, although there was a fair amount of early stuff where expansion etc went on. Reverts of disruption etc will give a high edit count but also demonstrates the problems there - usually BLP stuff. As you know, a lot of India-related articles have these vandal/POV problems and that is why they're unlikely ever to progress to GA etc. When we rely mostly on Indian news sources for BLPs then we've always got quality problems. A GA run won't work without putting several months of effort solely into that article: you'll have to read practically every news story ever written about her and carefully appraise them; on past evidence, that is not your style. One example that springs to mind was that you selected a Rough Guide as a source for history in one of your GAs and they're simply not reliable for it; you've also used a lot of Raj sources that are unreliable and, indeed, unnecessary if you'd read around a bit more. I'm not sure why these things are passing GA but they shouldn't be, sorry. - Sitush (talk) 13:24, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- What i all target is to get this to a better shape and GA is never in the plan. I wonder my edits are so good to get a GA attention with merely 5 edits!! And your constant theories of years on an article, past evidence, sideways(FYI - the tool is picked from WP:Colour and it passed), wiki India members cant make/review GAs - all these come into play only when we have any meaningful content/reference (quantity) - which if 350 edits cannot accomplish, 5 may not too. As i said earlier, let us not waste our time here as there is no plan for GA. Ssriram mt (talk) 00:58, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Taking this article near GA standards can be possible when a biography on her is published. —Vensatry (Ping me) 16:56, 19 November 2013 (UTC)

Reverted undue?
100% Same thing has been written in every single article. Which is wrong. I mean you can't copy paste similar paragraph to each article. I haven't broken any refs or syntax, in fact i did recovered each before I would leave from the page.
If you are to add 100% same paragraphs, you have to refer to the main page, like I did "as "main|Alvars", not that you should copy paste. And when you reverted, you removed much of the content that was unrelated, already, such as categories, refs.
Seems like you haven't read properly, See this, Others[1], [2],[3] can be checked if you simply use the search bar. While there is no ref about any reliable source who claims the later dates, if they were added, further questions would arise that "Who" claimed them? Answer would be no. So it's better if we stick to the traditional, documented dates. Bladesmulti (talk) 03:17, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- Rest are alright, I have added reference to each of them, but Kulashekhara Alwar is probably most contradictory, considering that 3 given sources of the paragraph, one was died, other one was unrelated, and other one itself suggest that during 800-844, The ruler was of Later Chera Dynasty was Rajasekhra, so his alleged(no idea who) role in Chera dynasty must be avoided. I have attributed it.Bladesmulti (talk) 04:19, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- Well, Gyan, travel guides, Kalpaz, are no more used by me, I am not using them as sources at all. So it's fine. Bladesmulti (talk) 13:25, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- Fine, I added each of the Alvar/Azhwar's details back. Didn't even knew that Manavala Mamunigal is notable, and has his own page here. Cheers. Bladesmulti (talk) 13:14, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Corruption charges against Jayalalithaa
Corruption charges against Jayalalithaa was a coatrack even though seemingly well-sourced. I've redirected it. Most of the items mentioned did not even result in charges. Please read the many discussions about these issues at Talk:Jayalalithaa, feel free to expand that article per those discussions and then suggest a fork if appropriate. - Sitush (talk) 09:37, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
- Well - i was somehow expecting the crab will fly again. This is a different article. There are convictions in three cases and if you read through the article, the list is huge that needs a separate article. If you need, have a discussion in the new talk page, else this has to be taken up with admin. I am removing the redirect.Ssriram mt (talk) 12:19, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

- Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think that the article should be deleted. Just having that title there, even as a redirect, is a magnet for POV pushers etc. I seem to recall that there is a CSD rationale for POV forks etc, so I'll look into that. - Sitush (talk) 12:37, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
- It turns out that there isn't such a rationale, only the "duplicates content elsewhere" criteria. It would have to go to AfD, I guess. - Sitush (talk) 14:50, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Road accidents in Tamil Nadu
Hello, Ssriram mt,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Road accidents in Tamil Nadu should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Road accidents in Tamil Nadu .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Problems with Parsurameswar Temple
- There are cases of close paraphasing: "An image of Karthikeya, the second son of Shiva riding on a peacock, his traditional mount" (http://www.orissatourism.gov.in/psmeswar.html)

Except Ganesa, all other images are associated with their respective vahanas (vehicles)." Meaning is changed. As in traditional depictions (and as per ref), the Matrikas are depicted between Gnaesha and Virabhadra in a row, but the text says something completely different.--Redtigerxyz Talk 13:59, 16 March 2014 (UTC)

Indian film assessment
Hello! I just noticed some edits that you made a couple years ago, adding the importance value to the {{WikiProject India}} banner for some Indian films. For some reason, these edits just recently appeared on the quality assessment log for that project. While I applaud the maintenance work that you've done, I'm curious why you also changed the class of these films to "List-Class", as you did with this edit. Could you please go back and update these films to the proper classification? Thanks! Fortdj33 (talk) 12:32, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

Form or Avatar
Dear Sriram, In this article, is mentioning "Form of Vishnu" or "Avatar of Vishnu" is correct one? A user Marchoctober changed "Form" to "Avatar", I stood for "Form", on the grounds that this is english wikipedia and instead of placing a sanskritised word, it is better to place a english but he/she wasn't adhering. I even wikilinked "Form" with "Avatar", but he/she removed that too. Hence your expertise in contributions to Hinduism and temple related stuff would be of much help here. --βα£α(ᶀᶅᶖᵵᵶ)(Support) 22:12, 21 April 2014 (UTC)
- Depiction may be a better term - definitely not an avatar. If there is continued unreferenced edit, you may wish to take it to ANI.Ssriram mt (talk) 23:00, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 29
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Badrinath Temple, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pooja (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's wonderful to see a quality editor working on southern Indian towns. Sadly I did cleanup a while back on Kerala towns and they've attracted junk again, you know the capital letter lists of non notable schools, business and people and the POV. You make sure those articles you wrote never attract that sort of thing hehe! Keep up the great work that you do Ssriram, you're doing southern India proud!♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:50, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- Dr. Blofeld Thanks a lot - I did clean up all TN towns and districts, and included 2011 demographic details. Sadly most get bolds and names of computer institutes again :( Will try my best to keep eyes on.Ssriram mt (talk) 23:21, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Pandava Thoothar Perumal Temple may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
