Re: Alan
editHi Kiwiteen123, It's almost certainly worth asking him again, and I'm sure Alan would meet all the criteria. By coincidence I asked another Kiwi today (XLerate) whether he'd reconsidered his earlier decision not to stand for admin, but I'd forgotten that Alan wasn't an admin yet. If you want to ask him, feel free (it's easy enough to nominate someone, and I'd definitely be keen to add my name to the nom. Grutness...wha? 09:46, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- Just out of interest, Grutness, How many admins do we have here in New Zealand?Kiwiteen123 (talk) 20:52, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
- Grutness and I are the only admins who have been consistently active on NZ issues over a long period of time. Other NZ admins who are less active, at least on NZ articles, are User:Evil Monkey, User:Master Thief Garrett, User:Davidcannon, User:Brian, User:Robin Patterson, and User:Sabine's Sunbird. User:Glen and User:Moriori are more or less inactive but still hold admin rights. User:Konstable was a very active admin who burned out and resigned a couple of years ago. Some Aussie admins have been known to take an interest in matters on this side of the ditch: User:Stormie and User:CJ. I've probably forgotten at least one more. I haven't actually met any of these people.-gadfium 22:24, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
- Gadfium's more or less covered it, but I'm pretty sure he's missed one or two as well (but names elude me). There used to be a Category:Wikipedian administrators in New Zealand, but it must have been deleted. I'll add that User:Moriori may be largely inactive here, but he's also one of the best liaisons with the Maori-language Wikipedia. There are no doubt quite a few others who could and should be admins (e.g. user:Helenalex, User:SimonLyall, user:Limegreen, and I'm surprised User:Dramatic isn't one...). - PS is there any reason why Category:Wikipedian administrators in New Zealand can't be recreated? Kiwiteen123 (talk) 04:18, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Mmmm. I've had a look and I seem to have been wrong - at least it's never existed with that title. I don't think there are any subcategories of admin by country, though, so it may not be acceptable. It would be useful, though, I think. Perhaps it's something to propose at Category talk:Wikipedia administrators and Wikipedia talk:Administrators, to see whether there's a specific reason why it's not done. I'm sure I've seen a list somewhere in the past, though - perhaps there was one at WP:WPNZ (if there was it's gone now). Grutness...wha? 05:43, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

Clendon
editHey Kiwiteen123, in previous cases of a list MP being elected there has been a notice stating that "so and so has been declared elected today by the electoral commission" etc. I suspect that right now we are in a period where Bradford has resigned but Clendon hasn't been declared elected an MP yet. But again, thats just a suspect as there are no sources either way Mattlore (talk) 06:09, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Paper Plus Group
editYou may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on Paper Plus Group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Reconsider! 08:43, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
Re: Paper plus group
editI've removed the CSD template because on second thought, the company appears to have sufficient notability within New Zealand. So yeah, don't worry about it. -Reconsider! 08:54, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
== Merry Xmas ==
Hugo999 (talk) is wishing you a Merry Christmas! This greeting (and season) promotes WikiLove and hopefully this note has made your day a little better. Spread the WikiLove by wishing another user a Merry Christmas, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past, a good friend, or just some random person. Happy New Year!
Spread the Christmas cheer by adding {{subst:Xmas3}} to their talk page with a friendly message.
And I may be able to add a stub entry for ALL the Historic Electorates; even just a brief statement that electorate XYZ existed from 18X to 19Y and had 10 MPs including A B C (the ones that have their own page) Hugo999 (talk) 09:11, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
editHello Kiwiteen123! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 99 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Mark Sainsbury (New Zealand) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 17:34, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
Help Needed
editHi Kiwiteen,
I saw your request on Gadfium's talk page. You would be welcome to help with an assessment drive for Wikiproject New Zealand (When I say "drive", I've assessed about 1600 articles since May, and another editor has done about 600). The main target now is a pile of 4,000 articles which are tagged for the project and already marked as low-importance. The list is here. I have been revising the "year in New Zealand" series to mid-importance as I go. For the next week or so I'm working on a separate list of completely unassesed articles where someone ran a bot to tag music and politics-related articles - so we are unlikely to clash. dramatic (talk) 04:36, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Dramatic,
- I shall have a look through that tomorrow and start working on them. I will let you know how I go.
- Thanks, Kiwiteen123 Please reply on my talk page 04:49, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- See also Schwede66's response on my talk page. Any contributions to either idea would be great.-gadfium 06:07, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hi All,
- I'm dreadfully sorry but I have had some complications in my recovery. I should be back on WP within a week. Sorry! Kiwiteen123 Please reply on my talk page 23:54, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
- I hope your recovery goes more smoothly from now on. Your health should be your priority. Wikipedia can wait.-gadfium 06:16, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Politics pages
editHello Kiwiteen, I only recently saw that you created a page on NZ politics. There's a separate page with the same title, but a lower case letter instead of a capital, that covers the same topic. Hence, I've shifted your good work on the photos for politicians to Wikipedia:WikiProject New Zealand/politics. If you decide to unretire for a while, maybe you'd like to join the taskforce. To do so, please paste the following code onto your user page:
{{User WikiProject New Zealand/politics}}
That will create a user box and add you to the membership. Thanks for your contributions. Schwede66 19:46, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Kiwiblog.png
editA tag has been placed on File:Kiwiblog.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. – Train2104 (t • c) 00:06, 18 July 2017 (UTC)
