TPS: Help with my sig?

Hi! Changed my sig for the first time in eons as I was missing pings due to the difference between my display and account names, but what I'd really like is for it to be multi-target. User and Talk. Does anyone know how to modify the below to do that? Thanks! Star Mississippi 01:01, 25 May 2021 (UTC) <b style="font-family: Calibri; color: #a117f2;">Star</b> <b style="font-family: Calibri; color: #df00fe;">Mississippi</b>

Hi, Star. What do you want linked to talk? "Mississippi"? — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 16:48, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
Yes please, JohnFromPinckney. Someone set up my original one years ago, but I lost it when I had to edit it for format errors it was throwing. THank you. Star Mississippi 16:50, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
Testing; please wait...
Okay, throw this into your sig: <span style="font-family:Calibri; font-weight:bold;"><span style="color:#a117f2;">Star</span> <span style="color:#df00fe;">Mississippi</span></span> (without any nowiki and code tags), and make sure you check the "Treat the above as wiki markup" checkbox. Save and see if it looks the way you want. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 17:30, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
It looks perfect, thanks again JohnFromPinckney and thanks for the specific instructions. Star Mississippi 18:08, 25 May 2021 (UTC)

Request

I am making a strange request: I am asking you to block me until 14 June (with the exception of my userspace and my own user talk). My Wikipedependence prevents me from studying properly for the exam. This block could be useful to reduce distractions and avoid a failure in the exam. Dr Salvus 22:18, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Hi Dr_Salvus. I'm not familiar with how to implement partial blocks like that and wouldn't want to mess it up. If you don't know any other admins, I'd suggest asking at the Help Desk or Teahouse. Star Mississippi 22:23, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Need an urgent help

Hey Star Mississippi. I hope you remember me. I was here before regarding the case of Kashmorwiki's articles. I need an urgent help. One user named Balu Korde is constantly using vulgar language against me because of reverting his/her's uncited inclusion to the article of Ahilyadevi Holkar. It was in the pending changes list. Can you take necessary action against that user. Here is the conversation. Thank you. Ken Tony Shall we discuss? 16:34, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

Apologies for the delay, Ken Tony, I was offline. I have warned the user. Please let me know if he continues. You may also want to find an admin who is active at hours when you are due to the time difference where I am. Star Mississippi 19:06, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for your action. Buddy I need one more help. I'm being suspected as a sock of Kashmorwiki for recreating some of the articles created by him, which were recreated by myself after asking your permission. You know everything right? Will you please come and help me sort this thing out. The SPI is here. I really am innocent, and my edit log proves that I'm not Kashmorwiki. Thank you. Hope you'll act. Ken Tony Shall we discuss? 19:23, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
I weighed in, thanks for the ping. Star Mississippi 20:03, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

New message from Serial Number 54129

You are invited to join the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Quantized inertia. ——Serial 16:12, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Thanks so much for flagging. I was offline and Ritchie333 took care of it before I saw your note and reinforced my initial gut to indef. Thanks both! Star Mississippi 16:49, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
No problem, and good close btw  :) ——Serial 18:34, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
Thank you Serial Number 54129. That discussion was a mess. I dug through the history and while there might be a sentence or two worth merging, it wasn't clear that the reliable sources were ever present in the article for a merge to be a useful close. Star Mississippi 18:49, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Spam blacklist page

I saw your edit on the SBL page about possibly messing up the template - it wasn't you. The massive report for Natural News that used lots and lots of LinkSummary templates caused the parser to hit the postexpandincludesize limie (WP:TLIMIT). If you view the source for the page, you'll see towards the bottom a parseReport and it includes this - "postexpandincludesize":{"value":2097151,"limit":2097152}. Nothing you did! If you've never run into this before, you'd likely not know what's happening. Ravensfire (talk) 20:56, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

Thank you Ravensfire! Never run into it before and I think my first ever spam blacklist filing, so glad I didn't break it. That would have definitely scared me off the page for good. Star Mississippi 01:55, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

Deprodding of More Bones: Scary Stories From Around The World

I have removed the tag from More Bones: Scary Stories From Around The World, which you proposed for deletion. as it has multiple independent reviews ie. slj, kirkus, Booklist, and horn book guide reviews. If you still think this article should be deleted, please do not add proposed deletion back to the page. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! What's Albanian for "sigh"?

Hi, Star. Tell me this person is not now/additionally this person. I haven't templated/warned/engaged with either account (lately/yet) on the remarkable similarities. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 00:33, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

Without a doubt, and there's already an SPI open. Will comment there and tag you. Thanks for flagging. I'd unfollowed the original one we were trying to help as he was not receptive and it wasn't productive. Star Mississippi 02:30, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
@JohnFromPinckney: I cleaned up the socking in the Kosovo article, but you had lots of in the Albania ones that I didn't want to obliterate, unless you were just cleaning up from our friend? If you haven't followed the SPI, it's a cluster. Have a good day! Star Mississippi 13:40, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, Star. I've been trying to get up the energy and determination to clean up "in Albania", without much success yet, but your purging may give me the push I need to do something about it. Soon. I appreciate your attention to these articles (thankfully, "in Kosovo" hasn't been on my radar). And BTW: are socks always so unimaginative, moniker-wise? — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 12:09, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
I'll be honest @JohnFromPinckney:, I wasn't motivated to wade into a ethnically charged mess but the socks was a clean way to remove the edits, since it's so blatant. In his latest unblock he's still arguing that we have hate toward Albanian sports, which means he's learned nothing since May or whenever this debacle started. At least when they're this predictable the sock block is easy so it's whack a mole. The latest one just started out blaming me so quack quack quack. Star Mississippi 13:46, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

Peter Betan

Hi, Mississippi this is betinfo. I have been nothing less than civil in the comments regarding articles for deletion page. Please communicate with Jeske Couriano regarding this matter, he has not been civil at all with his commentaries if you wish to read them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Betinfo (talkcontribs)

Hi Betinfo. Accusatory, slanderous and outright hostile remarks with a veil of pseudo intellect doesn't cut it is not civil. I stand by my assessment. Star Mississippi 18:43, 28 July 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for your help with Agnes Richards! I don't get much time anymore to actually edit Wikipedia, but it's great to remember the fun of starting something and coming back a few hours later to see it improved!--Jimbo Wales (talk) 20:29, 13 July 2021 (UTC)

You're very welcome @Jimbo Wales:. I come at things from a historic preservation angle so I saw your edit when you wikilinked her in the Rockhaven article, which I'd been working on on and off. As you said, she certainly is deserving of an article. To go along with your finding improvement, I also love finding a topic/person who hasn't been covered and knowing that somewhere down the line, I might help someone learn about the topic. PS: must admit, kind of awesome to find a notification from you. Thanks for this fun project. Star Mississippi 20:50, 13 July 2021 (UTC)

Gonzafer001 trolling

This guy is now openly trolling someone who commented at the AN/I thread [1]. Can we please indef this troublemaker? ♟♙ (talk) 19:26, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

 • Yes, I will second the indef; this fellow is playing games with many of the established editors here. He knows how to do this, he doesn't know how to do that, he changed his sign, he told he did not know how to put the talk page link back in. --Whiteguru (talk) 22:29, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

I didn’t mean any harm, it was a legitimate edit? His articles were showing up under "new articles" and I found an opportunity to get more edits in my portfolio, i literally added "located" this his article. It’s a good in nature edit. I swear there is no intent to troll.. why would i risk my account if I just became extended confirmed? Please, tell me what i did wrong, I have refrained from doing all the speedy delete stuff, i haven’t placed any (more sources) tags, and I haven’t edited anything regarding BMN (COI) since you guys told me to stop. This is a legitimate edit. There is zero reason for me to troll on Wiki, it will get me absolutely no where. Go through my recent edits. I don’t know @whiteguru, all I stated under the comments was "i love your additions". I truly did, that’s why i added on to them. I added one word. How is that trolling? EXPLAIN: Fernando Gonzalez 02:23, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

Not trolling, like making your signature not link to your user page or talk as you have explicitly been asked by two separate editors? I want to believe you're editing in good faith, but the little things are adding up. I'm pinging Whiteguru on your behalf so the editor sees your reply. Note to all, it is late in my time zone and I will be offline until about 9a EST Star Mississippi 02:32, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

I sincerely don’t understand the signifies linking man, is there a tutorial you can link me so I can do that, or are you able to possibly do that from your end as an admin? Please. I deleted an article, from someone who has been on this website for a long time, now everyone’s after me for it, I’m sorry. I didn’t know it would make him that mad. Tell EnPessant I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to mess with his work. Fernando Gonzalez 05:28, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

This i signature? user:gonzafer001 or something ? Fernando Gonzalez 05:29, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

Is there a wiki page you can link to me so I can understand what template to use Fernando Gonzalez 05:30, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

Is this what you have been talking about " Fernando Gonzalez " if so, the only reason it’s showed up in the past is because I copy and pasted it from your responses I don’t know how to set it up in preferences like you guys have been telling me can someone please link a Article or something or send me a screenshot on Twitter on how to do it Fernando Gonzalez Fernando Gonzalez 05:55, 9 August 2021 (UTC)— Preceding unsigned comment added by Gonzafer001 (talkcontribs)

En Passant and Future Perfect at Sunrise have both explained it to you here User_talk:Gonzafer001#August_2021. This is part of my comment about competence to edit Wikipedia at WP:ANI. Between your pleas to have your newspaper included, not following guidelines or discussions (although kudos for doing so here), I think you may need to slow down a bit. Star Mississippi 13:50, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
gonzafer001 I am not sure why you are here at Wikipedia, nor what it is you feel you have to prove - to yourself or to anyone else. There are a lot of wise people here who have reached out to you with guidance and support. Perhaps that support has not been what you would envisage for yourself. On the face of things, you have come to Wikipedia to do what you want: other editors have told your grasp of policy and procedure is awry, and you appear not to follow consensus nor guidance. You appear to do your own thing. Well, many editors like that have come and gone, the Sun comes up, the Sun goes down, and they are not missed.
Wikipedia works well on collaboration, and consensus and application of policy and procedure. That has a learning curve, and your behaviour here seems to indicate that this does not apply to you. Here, on this page, you have admitted there are gaps in your knowledge and application of Wikipedia policy. An administrator has given you very fair advice to slow down. That means to limit your participation a little, and learn a lot more and be seen to be putting that into practice. There is nothing to prove here on Wikipedia, to anyone. It is a worldwide collaborative project with 40,000 active editors. So take the very fair advice given you. --Whiteguru (talk) 21:23, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

I haven’t even said one thing mean to you mean, I was literally just complementing you work when I said "I love your additions". I have Accepted the consensus you guys gave me the other day. No nominating pages for deletion, no creating pages in affiliated with; etc. I HAVE REFRAINED from doing so, all of a sudden I’m under a microscope. Please just let me be. I literally complemented you work, I meant no harm man, I’m sorry. Same for EnPassan, I’m sorry. Possible positioning help

Hi, Star. I'm still watching your user pages (I hope you're not creeped out!) and saw you trying to fixing something with your SV remembrance. Are you trying to achieve a particular positioning? What effect are you going for? I don't guarantee any good results, but maybe I could help a little. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 18:55, 16 July 2021 (UTC)

Not creepy at all and thanks JohnFromPinckney (and I watch yours as well in case I can ever help). What I'm trying to do is to get it with the black ribbon that's also a memorial to another deceased Wikipedian, but I can't seem to do that without them overlapping the ninja star. All of that formatting is beyond me, so I'm not sure what I should change to fix it. No worries if you're not either, but I'd love any insight. PS: sorry for flooding your watch list when I add new articles to my user page. I'm not usually this productive. Thank you again Star Mississippi 19:10, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
Productive is good! And not much of a flood; I also watch other admins' pages with whom I've interacted, and some, like Materialscientist, get just inundated with "why did you delete my page" and "please undelete X" requests. So yours is no problem whatsoever.
Now about the ribbon: these things are always tricky because they depend on the reader's device, browser, resolution, font size, window size and skin. Also local humidity and wind direction. But you've got a Stack begin template in there, so I think we can fix this. Here a few questions:
1. How important is it that the ribbon is below the AbsentFriend box? Can it be to the left? To the right?
2. Do you want it all above the Shuriken, like up in the menu area? (In my skin, it would block the right-most menu items, such is the width of my dinky laptop.) Or would near-the-other-userboxes be just as cool?
3. I know where you got the UBX, but whence did you stealborrow the <div> with the ribbon? EDIT: oh, good grief; I see you've had that code since 2008. Nevermind the question. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 19:51, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
4. If I get something close, may I publish to your user page directly so you (and I) can see how it looks?
I think with these answers I can start, uh, massaging your code (are you sure it's not creepy?). — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 19:48, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
Lickily I'm a low controversy admin, outside a few odd ones who persist in thinking they're Right, like our sports loving friend. I don't know how some admins deal with the volume. LOL re: code massaging. Note to self, don't read your comments while sipping tea unless keyboard requests a bath. As to your questions:
1. It can be wherever it fits. I think the reason it's below it is because that's what the code rendered. Jeff and Isaac have been gone a long time now so I can't say for certain, but I'm 99% positive someone gave me the code or placed it for me -- my Wiki markup language has not improved beyond what's needed in articles in my 13+ years
2. Near the other user boxes is perfectly fine. I tried that first but you never saw it because it broke everything in preview. The userboxes don't need to be there either, it's just where they landed, although they might have been aligned with the ninjastar once upon a time. Way more fun than a barnstar. I'm alternately on a 21" desktop and 13" laptop, so I should be fine on any display.
3. LOL. Stealborrow indeed. It is entirely possible I copied extra bits of code than what I should have to make it work. User:Pedro still has it on his userpage. Does the code there tell you anything different?
4. Please do. I'm about to step away from my computer for at least a few hours, so pardon any delay in response. And of course none of this is any rush. Thanks again Star Mississippi 20:41, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
Okay, I have played around with a couple versions which are sort of okay (IMO). You can look at the last three revisions and see what you think; after all, that's all that matters. I tested in only one skin, but will try a few others and maybe visit in mobile. Please feel free to complain about any aspect of of what you see; I can (and would be glad to) make further changes, large or small. Regards,— JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 01:01, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
Well, I (finally) looked at my work in all 5 skins and... it looks kind of ick to me. Especially Minerva, used on mobile, places the ribbon in front of the grass background, a very effective camoflage, which is good for ninjas, but not so good for important symbols. So I will have to look at this some more tomorrow. At least I have an idea of the skin problems. In the meantime, your feedback is obviously welcome. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 01:25, 17 July 2021 (UTC)
Please don't worry unless you really like tinkering. This is very much not important. I like this one since the ribbon doesn't get lost. Can flip Slim Virgin UBX with the coffee one so one so silly isn't next to an important ribbon (my own doing, not yours). I user Legacy Vector apparently, but can change to Minerva. Thanks for all your help Star Mississippi 01:54, 17 July 2021 (UTC)

Help with YouTube Pride 2021

Hi @Star Mississippi: I wanted to thank you for taking a look at this draft in progress. You asked me a question here: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject LGBT studies#Help with draft article about YouTube Pride 2021 I wanted to let you know that I answered there. Yes, I am Peony1432. You said you may have time to look at the draft. Would you be able to take a look?

As I said, since you said you thought it would be ready for mainspace with more work, I wanted to offer to do this work, with your guidance. What do you suggest I do? Were you thinking of the story about Elton John’s reflections about the day of his marriage and/or Daniel Howell “breaking the internet”? Peony1432 (talk) 17:59, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

Thank you Peony1432. I had indeed missed your response. I will look at it in the next day or two. Do you happem to have links handy to the Howell story? I found Elton John's. Thank you and apologies for missing your response. Star Mississippi 20:26, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for your help. Here is the link for the Daniel Howell story. [1] Please let me know if you need more information. Thank you. Peony1432 (talk) 20:13, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for the reminder, Peony. I'm trying to remember now who moved it back to draft space to get their opinion. While I'm not 100% sure that it would survive Afd, I personally believe it deserves a shot at mainspace. Star Mississippi 02:22, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Your ban in based on feelings

I only did the editing one day. Everything else was my expression of frustration at how others were responding to my concers. Your nomination normalizes the power of people who go around delibberetly egging others on, and then sitting back and letting them explode. It is part of a general pattern of discrmination on Wikipedia against those who have Autism.John Pack Lambert (talk) 18:49, 25 August 2021 (UTC)

@Johnpacklambert: with all due respect, you know nothing about me or people in my life who have Autism, so please don't accuse me of discriminating against those who do. Star Mississippi 18:52, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
@Johnpacklambert:, I have read through the discussion as an uninvolved editor. I can see that the proposal to restrict you is based on how you are approaching disagreements on Wikipedia and the impact it is causing on Wikipedia pages and editors; I am not sure why you are talking about discrimination due to autism, but if you adjusted your approach and were more receptive to the feedback you have been given by many users (and previous editing restrictions), the nomination might not be necessary. Alberta Association of Architects

Hi. I started a DRV for this AfD recommending relisting. At the time I had not noticed that you draftified it. However I don't think either action interferes with the other. It seems we both had the same concerns but different plans. HighInBC Need help? Just ask. 23:47, 26 August 2021 (UTC) Hi HighInBC no interference at all. In fact my plan when I finished working on it was to go through DRV to get a consensus that any updates passed G4 as I didn't want to wait for AFC and felt I was too involved with JPL to unilaterally move it back to main space. Will go weigh in at the DRV, thanks for flagging. Star Mississippi 00:18, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

Italy national football team

In my opinion it wasn't an edit war but vandalism. The user had persistently undone Nehme1499 and I's edits who were good as there's a consensus who says that players injuries shouldn't be reported so I think the protection is no longer required Dr Salvus 22:24, 30 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi Dr Salvus, it is an edit war when (collective) you are reverting without discussing. It's not vandalism as defined here, which has limited definition when it comes to a content disagreement. Protection will be lifted when an uninvolved admin thinks it's ready, or in 48 hours. Plenty of time to come to an agreement that you'll all move forward without reverting one another. That's why the talk page remains open for your use. Star Mississippi 00:59, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

Farm Frenzy

Hello, I noticed you removed most of the information on the Farm Frenzy page, and was wondering why you did this. Is it the lack of sources? I made edits to the page three years ago and used to play Farm Frenzy a lot, so I'm interested in why. UltramanAce3245 (talk) 19:28, 12 September 2021 (UTC)

Hi @UltramanAce3245:. Correct, unsourced and it's unencyclopedic. I think the game itself is notable, but could use more sourcing. Star Mississippi 01:38, 13 September 2021 (UTC)

ANI

Hey Star, I replied to your comment in the HW thread at ANI but forgot include a template to ping you (oops!). It seemed like poor form to respond to you directly without letting you know, especially there. Cheers, Stlwart111 03:44, 20 September 2021 (UTC)

Hi Stalwart111 thanks for the heads up. Responding here as the thread closed before I got back online. I totally agree with HW on JPL (I was the one who brought JPL to ANI* in hope of a topic ban that spiraled into that mess. But if you're already under a microscope for civility, describing someone as being on a personal jihad is not the best way of phrasing it I'd say, but that's totally up for interpretation. As for the AfD, whoops, mea culpa. You're right on that. Thanks for flagging. *As an aside, holy crap, we have too many acronyms! Have a great day. Star Mississippi 13:41, 20 September 2021 (UTC)

Pings

Thanks for this. Just an FYI if you ever mess up a ping (I've done it a bunch of times), you also need to readd your signature with the four tildas. Otherwise the ping doesn't work unless the new edit contains the new sig.

Hopefully things settle down a little now for now. KoA (talk) 17:57, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

Thank you KoA! Didn't know that re: needing to sign again. Pings and things were added while I was on an editing hiatus and while I've learned the policy & guideline changes, the technical/format things continue to escape me for longer than I'd like, hence my edit summary. I hope so as well. I think he means well, he's just not willing or able to edit collaboratively, which unfortunately does not work. Star Mississippi 18:01, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

Disruptive editing and deleting articles

Hi Star Mississippi. After everything that happened with Corker1, especially as described at the last ANI thread, do you have any ideas for how best to deal with articles disruptively created like that after the fact?

I ask in part because it looks like none of the CSD criteria quite apply except maybe WP:A10 (nothing is technically mergeable back to the parent article, but that's not a typical application either). I tried PRODing the article only to have that undone, and while the AFD discussion looks pretty clear so far, it does seem like a huge timesink to have to clean up like this after something that was already a timesink. Is there something I'm missing for deletion that actually would apply better to this situation? KoA (talk) 23:56, 7 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi @KoA:. Thanks for flagging. It appears that Corker1 isn't clear on why the article/content was not appropriate to Wikipedia per his response to you on his Talk. Unfortunately I'm not aware of any speedy criteria that would fit this situation, but I'll think on it a bit. Glad you and Trainsandotherthings were aware of the situation early on before it spread further though to other articles. Star Mississippi 02:28, 8 November 2021 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Beach too Sandy, Water too Wet

The article Beach too Sandy, Water too Wet has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Does not pass WP:GNG or WP:WEBCRIT. There are a few listicles out there that include the podcast, but even those are extremely short (fewer than 100 words, generally only 50 words or so). I don't see any awards and the show does not WP:INHERIT notability from its hosts, guests, producers, or related shows.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I'm not sure I agree with this, but won't contest it directly. Rather it be decided by someone who isn't the creator. In the mean time, will see what I can add additional sourcing. Thanks for the heads up on the PROD, @TipsyElephant: Star Mississippi 19:05, 5 November 2021 (UTC)
@Star Mississippi: if you can find two or three reliable sources that dedicate more than 100 words specifically to the podcast then I would be willing to remove the WP:PROD myself. Let me know if you dig anything up. TipsyElephant (talk) 02:22, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
Will do TipsyElephant. What I may do if PROD goes uncontested is draftify it if you have no objection. More I think on this, it might be slightly too soon, but would rather keep the content for if/when more sourcing comes out. Star Mississippi 14:21, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
Sounds good to me. TipsyElephant (talk) 16:07, 8 November 2021 (UTC)

Nirmal Baby Varghese

Hi Star Mississippi, I have a doubt. The article Nirmal Baby Varghese I created was previously reviewed by you. It was also shown in Google search. But now why does that page not show in Google search? BC171189 (talk) 04:37, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

Hi! Unfortunately I'm not super familiar with that process. If Wikipedia:Controlling search engine indexing doesn't answer the question, maybe try the Help Desk? I'm sure someone there will know. Have a great day! Star Mississippi 15:15, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
Hello User:BC171189. I don't know why you think it doesn't appear in search results. I searched for "Nirmal Baby Varghese" and got the WP page in both Google and DuckDuckGo. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 17:26, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
Hello User:JohnFromPinckney. Does not show up in Google search. It only shows up in the google knowledge panel. I had never searched at DuckDuckGo before. Now when i search in it, it shows up.BC171189 (talk) 18:08, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
Ah, I see what you mean. Right, the article is not listed in the Google results, for me as well. I don't know why it was listed earlier but not now. I suggest you look again in 6 days, as that should be about the 90-day mark mentioned in the page Star linked to. — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 20:57, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, @JohnFromPinckney, and absolutely no need to apologize. Glad @BC171189 got pointed toward the answer and I have more detail to answer a similar one down the road. Hope you both have a great evening. Star Mississippi 21:53, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

Administrators will no longer be autopatrolled

A recently closed Request for Comment (RFC) reached consensus to remove Autopatrolled from the administrator user group. You may, similarly as with Edit Filter Manager, choose to self-assign this permission to yourself. This will be implemented the week of December 13th, but if you wish to self-assign you may do so now. To find out when the change has gone live or if you have any questions please visit the Administrator's Noticeboard. 20:06, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

Admitting an Misstake that i did.

bad faith sockpology
The following discussion has been closed. Please do not modify it.

I want to apologize for my Bad Behavior i caused here in Wikipedia i am the Sock of Xoni98 and i want to admit that i did massively wrong.

I hope that over time you can forgive since i love sports and want just to help those pages to get improvements and information as others did for their countrys aswell.

Don't get me wrong as i really learn much here in Wikipedia i want to apologize for my Misstakes i did but hopefully i can get an way back of course not editing as much as i did before.

I am mean it from my heart i wanna know how to change those things as it wasn't kind from me but at that time i didn't know and also of my fighter personality that i am i couldn't resist including information after information, and yes i am your Albanian friend not in a good way i know.

I wish you still an good new year but never forget one thing. People never talk when they dont had to but i had because sport is an important topic for everbody im the world.

With Kind regards. 2A00:20:D008:2716:64AF:B73:7626:493D (talk) 02:39, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

Nice to hear from you. I think it surprises you, but we (@JohnFromPinckney and I) do want to help you. You cannot continue to create new accounts and edit logged out. That is called socking, which would get you banned if you're not careful. (I am not proposing this at this stage and would not do it myself). What I recommend you do, Xoni, is read standard offer which is a "second chance" we offer to users who had some challenges at the beginning but do want to edit collaboratively, which it seems you do. You would not be unblocked immediately but there is a process to move closer to a return to editing. Have a read though that, and let us know any questions. If you ask questions and don't attack us - I have nothing against Albanian or the Balkans - you'll find most of us are happy to help you. Sound good? Star Mississippi 03:55, 13 December 2021 (UTC)

Menges

Hi, thanks for putting Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pamela Rai Menges (3rd nomination) out of its misery. I somehow feel Pamela Rai Menges deserves an article for such an amazing spread of sources/announcements over a long period, and probably a subject matter expert on nano-grids. I did actually notice a few more articles on the Cincinnati Enquirer via ProQuest but realistically apart being an RS on dissuading me to move to downtown Cincinnati they were of no use to the subject's article. I will however request a draft as their is a chance may be TOOSOON and something emerges (10% chance/yr). Whenever I watch a Bengals game (highlights) I shall be reminded of her. Thankyou. Djm-leighpark (talk) 04:15, 15 December 2021 (UTC) PS. don't forget the talk page! Djm-leighpark (talk) 04:15, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

Here you go @Djm-leighpark: Draft:Pamela Rai Menges
I feel like draft space is sometimes overused, but situations like Menges where we need more than the run of an AfD (or multiple) to truly work on an article. I've seen your name around enough and am vaguely familiar with your work. If you feel you've improved it enough to meet the nom's concerns, I feel like we really don't need to go through DRV/AfC. Feel free to ping me here or Draft Talk if you need anything else. Have a good evening. Star Mississippi 04:23, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, could I trouble you to drafify the talk page as well. THanks! 07:27, 15 December 2021 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Djm-leighpark (talkcontribs)
Done/sorry. I need to not edit at 11pm. Star Mississippi 14:10, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

Math problem for you

Hi, Star. I've got a problem I know you will appreciate. I will write it out in block   letters for you:

How much is Xoni98 + Xonilatifi25 + Egzonlatif25? (These may seem to be variable names but, in fact, they turn out to be a single constant: Prishtinë25)

The problem is visible on this blackboard. I haven't reverted anything yet; I thought I'd wait until you looked over the, um, arithmetic there. Regards, — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 00:16, 8 December 2021 (UTC)

oh our old friend. I almost missed them. Not. Well actually I missed them as much as I miss "two trains leaving from stations 86 miles apart" homework :) Thanks for the laugh, and for flagging. I'd taken that page and Kosovo off my watch list when I thought it had calmed down/he got bored. Le sigh. About to clean up and file now. Thanks again, and for helping the user two threads up. You most certainly get an A. Star Mississippi 00:18, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
SPI filed: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Xoni98. Also just saw your edit summary now as I had clicked over from the new message alert. LoL. A+ for creativity *and* the word problem. Star Mississippi 00:54, 8 December 2021 (UTC)
and closed/blocked. I went on a cleaning spree and think I got it all, with the exception of Kosovo at the Olympics where I pinged Jeff in CA who has been editing as I don't want to accidentally revert something worth keeping. I'll keep an eye on the pages for a bit, since I imagine we'll meet another brother. Thanks, as always, for your help. Star Mississippi 03:13, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
