Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:The Suburbs Title Card.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 05:09, 20 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Suburbs (Online series)

edit

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article The Suburbs (Online series), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Proposed deletion of Hey Lola

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Hey Lola, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Unspecified source/license for Image:Dtng intertitles1.PNG

Thanks for uploading Image:Dtng intertitles1.PNG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

I have nominated The Suburbs (Online series), an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Suburbs (Online series). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Orphaned non-free media (Image:TS3.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:TS3.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:18, 9 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of The Suburbs (Online series)

edit

A tag has been placed on The Suburbs (Online series), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Recreation of deleted article

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Orlady (talk) 11:25, 12 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I am rooting for you in this AfD! I also tipped off your story to an acquaintance who is a writer -- you should be hearing from him shortly. Be well and good luck! Ecoleetage (talk) 11:47, 2 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

First of all, allow me to congratulate you on your web series. I have seen it, and have been very impressed. Unfortunately, it violates Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy to write about subjects that you are related to. Also, read Wikipedia's notability policy regarding Internet happenings. I may not be fightin' for ya in the AFD, but I really hope you can make it pass WP:N and get someone else to write it for you (never said I wouldn't do it). Disputed fair use rationale for File:Season 7.jpg}

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Season 7.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Making the Band 4

edit

Its so-called second half of Season 3 is Season 4. To say that it is still Season 3 would mean its Season 3 consists of that many episodes, which I doubt. Most sources are calling it the fourth season, and it has been advertised more so as that than as the second half of Season 3. No matter that it is the second half of Season 3, it is still Season 4. Flyer22 (talk) 17:59, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

My mistake about the above in regards to some parts I stated. But the second half of Season 3 should still have a subtitle titling it as the second half, in my view. Flyer22 (talk) 18:13, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ok well i know on MTV.com[1] it definitely is proof that it is still Season 3, and yeah i guess separating it would make more sense so that's good.Starsking (talk) 04:50, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I know myself that sometimes i forget to do so, but it does make things easier for other users if you can provide a brief summary of the additions/deletions or changes you have made to an article. File source problem with File:Destructo_doll.png

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Destructo_doll.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:09, 28 June 2009 (UTC). Fair use rationale for File:DTNG Season 7.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:DTNG Season 7.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Orphaned non-free image (File:The Suburbs Logo.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:The Suburbs Logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. FileBot (talk) 05:53, 24 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Season 8.jpg

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Season 8.jpg.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:40, 31 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. –Drilnoth (T • C • L) 22:40, 31 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

The City (season 1 Part 2)

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The City (season 1 Part 2), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: The City (season 2). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally moving or duplicating content, please be sure you have followed the procedure at Wikipedia:Splitting by acknowledging the duplication of material in edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Page blanking

edit

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to The City (season 2). Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. --Allen3 talk 12:01, 23 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Alexz Johnson (album)

edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Alexz Johnson (album). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alexz Johnson (album) (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:15, 26 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Remember December

edit

The article Remember December has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence given of notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Polargeo (talk) 20:57, 27 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please do not continue to add unnecessary content to articles as you did to Hannah Montana with this edit. You added this information previously[1] and it was removed then because it was unnecessary. Season 3 is still airing so Mitchell Musso's involvement in seasons 1-3 is already implied. --AussieLegend (talk) 07:10, 21 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Taking The Stage (season 1)

edit

A tag has been placed on Taking The Stage (season 1) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as List of cast members from Taking The Stage, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.mtv.com/shows/taking_the_stage/season_2/cast.jhtml, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under allowance license, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:List of cast members from Taking The Stage saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Theleftorium 14:45, 5 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 72 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating copyright policy by copying text into Wikipedia from another source without verifying permission. Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to quote non-free text. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Following a listing at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2010 January 24, a contributor copyright investigation has been opened to evaluate your contributions to Wikipedia. It seems that for some time you have been copying content from other sources and pasting them into the project with little or no alterations. Over the next several days or weeks, the articles to which you have previously contributed will be examined. Content which you have contributed that is or seems likely to have been copied will be removed. If you restore this content without verifying that it is not a copyright concern, as you did when you recreated List of cast members from Taking The Stage on the 24th, your account will be blocked again, possibly indefinitely. I am watchlisting your talk page; if you have input prior to the expiration of your block, you may place it here. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:17, 2 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Whats the sense in not copying word for word..? Giving the people the right info, directly from the source. I may be a "noob" but i don't see the issue.Starsking (talk) 00:29, 4 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

The issue is that is against the US law that governs Wikipedia and accordingly against our copyright policy. Accounts that persist in violating the copyright policy will be blocked from editing. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 01:57, 4 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

On the first day of your return after your copyright block, you have again pasted content onto Wikipedia from a previously published source, here pasting content from MTV. I explained to you above that you cannot do this; you were given pointers to the policies explaining why. I do not believe you should unblocked without some credible indication that you will comply with our policies and stop importing copyrighted text to Wikipedia. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:47, 8 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have nominated Degrassi: The Next Generation for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. Speedy deletion nomination of How to Be Indie

edit

A tag has been placed on How to Be Indie requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. --moreno oso (talk) 07:46, 6 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
