Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:The Woodlands High School, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. John from Idegon (talk) 01:08, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
- I was trying to fix the formatting of the signature - it was (and now, thanks to the revert, is) turning the entire rest of the talk page bold. This type of change is specifically allowed under WP:SIGCLEAN. I notice now that I inadvertently deleted the link to his talk page - I should have just added a closing bold tag to the end. Stedil (talk) 01:30, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
- The editor in question is an administrator, so I doubt his signature is faulty. More likely it was vandalism. The talk Page's history isn't long. Best practice would be to locate the edit that changed it and undo it, manually if need be, and leave an edit summary describing a vandalism reversion. That way there are no questions. Texas brass quintets
Thank you for quality articles such as Robert Nagel and Grand Oaks High School, for expanding places such as Cut and Shoot, Texas, and music such as Brass quintet repertoire, for adding photos and references, for diligent GA reviewing of a variety of topics, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!

I can see that you are very interested in horror films and I was wondering if you would like to review an article I nominated for GA: Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes. Thanks for your consideration!MagicatthemovieS (talk) 17:09, 5 October 2018 (UTC)MagicatthemovieS
Updating zoning maps
Thanks for work in the zoning maps update. IMO it's better to link directly to the files of the new zone maps. WhisperToMe (talk) 00:04, 10 December 2018 (UTC)

Are you available to finish the GA review? If not, I will ask for a new reviewer at Wikipedia talk:Good article nominations. Thank you. – Finnusertop (talk ⋅ contribs) 10:00, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
Conroe, The Woodlands
Hi Stedil, I hope you don't mind that I'm reaching out to you without solicitation. I am trying to gauge interest in WikiProject Houston, which appears to me to be an inactive project at this time. There are certainly productive editors working on articles within the project's scope, but I am not seeing that the project is facilitating collaboration. You mentioned that you are interested in bringing Conroe, Texas and The Woodlands, Texas to GA. If you are interested, I can assist you in that effort. In both cases, this will entail a great deal of work, and we may need to consult other editors. If this still interests you, please let me know. Sincerely, Oldsanfelipe2 (talk) 08:29, 31 January 2020 (UTC)
- Oldsanfelipe2, thanks for the message. At some point, I would like to continue to improve the quality of these articles, potentially to GA, though I don't have the time to do so at the moment. I'll let you know when I'm working on it. Stedil (talk) 16:04, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
Revision on "Klein Cain High School".
Hello there!
I saw that you removed sections from Klein Cain High School and wanted to thank you. I'm new to Wikipedia, so it's hard for me to catch my errors unless people correct me. (Once you have read this message, you can delete it. I won't continue checking your talk page, so post on mine if you want to continue talking).
Thanks again! Puredication (talk) 23:32, 11 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Puredication: Thanks for the message. In general, most of the information in a school article (and all articles on WP) should come from reliable sources that are independent of the article's subject. The school's website is generally used only for very basic descriptions such as many of the items in the infobox (name, address, principal, mascot, etc.) as well as the attendance boundary. Newspapers like the Houston Chronicle are good for covering the school generally, while government organizations such as the National Center for Education Statistics and the Texas Education Agency are good sources for statistical information. See WP:PSTS for the relevant policy. Side note: you can notify someone of a post on a page they don't have watchlisted by using Template:Reply to. It helps to keep a discussion all in one place so it is easy to follow. Stedil (talk) 20:57, 13 June 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for digging up the source for the principal. I tried to find one before I tagged the failed source, but I found their website less than useful. Meters (talk) 03:49, 7 July 2021 (UTC)

Re: Independent sources
Hi Stedil, thanks for your comments!
I am considering the independent sources from Chinese media.
I am currently not in China, as you may be aware of. So book or printed newspapers are not possible.
I can find some webpages from news papers and new agencies. But I'm not familiar with your standard about these sources. For example, how about this one [1]. and this one [2]
- @Liusine: From what I can tell, these sources would help establish notability. I'm not an expert on Chinese media, so I can't speak to whether these sources are truly reliable or independent, but the articles themselves contain the type of coverage that is needed for a Wikipedia article. If you can find other sources or articles in addition to these about the school, that would help convince editors to vote to keep the article. P.S. don't forget to sign your talkpage messages by adding four tildes like this: (
