Re: French presidential inauguration

I've resubmitted the images and adding an uncategorised template. Consider translating the categories from French Wikipedia to English. Unfortunately, I am not fluent with French to help you expand the article. SwisterTwister talk 21:17, 26 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Presidential Flag of Sri-Lanka.gif

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Presidential Flag of Sri-Lanka.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. License tagging for File:Sergeant Royal Australian Army .jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Sergeant Royal Australian Army .jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:05, 3 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Image tagging for File:LieutenantGeneral Royal Australian Army.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:LieutenantGeneral Royal Australian Army.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Ranks in the Australian Defence Force

edit

Hi Steve, This new article you've created duplicates the long-existing Australian Defence Force ranks. Could I suggest that you merge the content across? I've also deleted File:Royal Australian Navy Uniform Ranks.png and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Royal_Australian_Air_Force_Ranks.jpg as you'd taken them from the websites of these services, which (sadly) do not use creative commons licenses as you'd stated. Please take the time to review WP:COPYRIGHT (and especially the WP:COPYOTHERS section of this page) before uploading further files - if you have any questions in relation to this, Wikipedia:Media copyright questions is probably the best place to ask them. Speedy deletion nomination of Ranks in the Australian Defence Force

edit

Hello Steve92341,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Ranks in the Australian Defence Force for deletion, because it appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article, [[:{{{article}}}]].

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Gbawden (talk) 11:18, 4 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:LieutenantGeneral Royal Australian Army.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:LieutenantGeneral Royal Australian Army.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Ranks in the Australian Defence Force

edit

Regarding your contested deletion of Ranks in the Australian Defence Force,[1] the article was nominated because it essentially duplicated an already existing article,[2] once all of the copyright violations were removed. When an article on a topic already exists, creating a second article serves very little purpose. (This was especially true with Education in New South Wales, which was a direct copy of New South Wales#Education) It is far better to improve the existing article. Remember though, you cannot simply copy content from another website unless that website includes a copyright notice allowing for that. To do so constitutes a copyright violation. The copyright page at army.gov.au does not allow for you to upload images and text from that website to Wikipedia, which is why the content was removed, and why all of the images that you uploaded were deleted. --AussieLegend () 02:08, 5 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Copyvio concern

edit

Hi, I've gone through some of your edits and removed a lot of content that seems to be lifted from other sources. This is not compatible with Wikipedia, all content you add to wiki must be in your own words and not lifted from another source - even close paraphrasing can be a concern - all content must be freely available (legally freely available under a CC license, not just accessible) for it's addition to Wikipedia. For more info on copyright and how it affects wiki please read; Wikipedia:Copyright violations and Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. It would be of great assistance if you could help with the task of going through and removing content you've added that is licensed in a manor incompatible with Wikipedia. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Italian Armed Forces, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Maggiore and Aviere (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

File permission problem with File:Cristin-milioti.jpeg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Cristin-milioti.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 14:23, 15 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
