Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. I just have talked via Skype with Sven70. He told me that he is disabled person suffering with Repetitive strain injury. He is 39 (not teenager) and he is not a hooligan. He just is unable to type well due to his decease.

He has a lot of free time and is eager to contribute to Wikipedia and Wiktionary and he said me that he is discriminated as he is unable to explain his problem. He is unable to write - he want to be listened.

I do not know how to help him. I am not sure if the Wiki projects is a right place for him now. Probably in the future Wiki will understand voice commands.

This message is just an attempt to raise awareness of Administrators about the problem of this user. Just talk with him by Skype: Sven0921 before blocking him. He is unable to answer or protect himself in other way. --Perohanych (talk) 08:41, 11 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Braobans :)

edit

Hi, sorry for the confusion I made. Let me explain what happened: I saw this edition of yours and then I went to the Vlaams article to learn about the language. I was redirected to Flemish, where the language code given is "vls", and that's why I added this code to your Babel. Now I see that Brabantian is spoken in a different region in Netherlands, more to the center of it. It's strange that Braobans doesn't have a language code! Your signature

edit

Have you considered writing your signature in longhand? It is currently very hard to understand, and even to recognise where it starts. This would make it much clearer why you write in shorthand and help people understand it earlier on. Also, despite my best efforts I don't understand what this means. If I can intrude on this (old) conversation, have you considered writing that in long hand at the top of this talk page and just using the default signature? That way, we don't have to guess at your signature (though I now [mostly] get it after reading the above conversation :) , but people will still get the idea if they come here. Because it's pretty confusing to anyone reading through a longhand English conversation who suddenly comes up against shorthand. There's no reason to have shorthand in your signature; you don't have to keep typing it. You'd be much better off with something like: The preceding comment is in shorthand because I have RSISven70. --Bigbluefish (talk) 10:18, 5 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

On here, I'd suggest. Your talk page is where people are automatically going to come here to try to contact you. Or put that in in longhand too. Horizontal space is not at as much of a premium as the comprehensibility of your comments. Bigbluefish (talk) 18:03, 5 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Can I support the signature message? I thought your name was either a coding error or some prank at first. By having The preceding comment is in shorthand because I have RSI as part of your signature, then your name won't look like it's a jumble of unrecognizable words, which it does at first glance. – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 01:28, 9 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

The WMF does not intervene in the running of Wikipedia, Wiktionary, or its other wikis, with very few exceptions. The due process amendments (5th and 14th) to the US Constitution apply to the federal government and to the states; they do not apply to Wikipedia, a private website. Wikipedia/Wiktionary/etc. do not need to apply due process before blocking or banning editors, although it usually does.
I am aware that you have problems with communication due to your RSI, and whilst we will do as much as we can to accommodate you therein, you are not exempt from complying with site policies, and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 applies only to job applications, public entities, public transportation, public accommodation, commercial facilities, and telecommunications companies. Wikimedia does not fit into any of those categories.
If you have an actionable problem with Wikipedia, I and other admins will try to help you. However, all I can see is that you are complaining here about actions taken on Wiktionary, which is at best futile. Stifle (talk) 19:36, 20 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your report at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism about the user killerwinky. I have warned the user, who had made only two edits and had not been warned. If the user has only made two edits then he isn't a serious concern at this point. Issue a warning, and hopefully the problem will go away. If not, then re-warn the user, and if he continues to vandalise after a L4 warning has been issused then take it to AIV. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 14:15, 16 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sven, you have to actually spend more time writing articles than you do on peoples' talk pages. And it has nothing to do with RSI; it has to do with your behavior. 1. I did check your history.
2. It can be, but why would most people bother? They see you as rude. I know better, through Skype, but there's no incentive for others to get closer.
3. "Educate your mediation"? This is exactly what I'm talking about. I'm giving you fair warning, and this is the response. Doesn't matter who you are (well, there are exceptions, but they're extremely deft political maneuverers), this is the kind of behavior that gets you blocked. Regardless of circumstance. It's not even the shorthand; it's how you use it. You've already got an RfC (below) -- which will be hell -- and you're close to becoming blocked.

I do not know what this unfortunate has, but you cannot get injured from typing. Read my post in the discussion page. I am a specialist in muscular-skeletal diseases, a doctor of over 40 years. I have taught medicine in 3 universities and I know most of those who created the Myth of RSI. Whatever is causing your pain needs to be sorted out by a clear thinking doctor. Do not confuse fatigue aches with an injury, a common "post hoc ergo propter hoc" mistake. Some people have pain from problems not caused by typing that makes typing difficult. Again. this is not a cause and effect relationship. Historygypsy (talk) 16:03, 14 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sven, I am only going to say this once, largely because you have been told many times before but refuse to listen. Nobody cares about Wiktionary internal issues. That said, you are not allowed to harass and attack users, either here or at Wiktionary. If you do, you will be blocked without further warnings. Block

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for continued personal attacks after multiple warnings. Also Wikipedia is not Wiktionary, you cannot continue to bring your grievances there to Wikipedia, it's disruptive. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. WGFinley (talk) 06:36, 24 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sven, I'm sorry to say that I agree with this block (note that a block is different from a ban, and I'll continue to oppose banning you from the project). While some of the stuff you have to put up with is ridiculous and unacceptable, you can't continue scrapping away with an ever-expanding group of editors who for whatever reason aren't prepared to consider the person behind your edits. That's not helping the encyclopedia, and that's why this block was put in place. There's currently a proposal at WP:ANI#Ban proposal on User:Sven70 where it has been proposed to follow up your block (a technical measure used to prevent disruption of the project) with a ban (a social measure basically saying that you're no longer welcome to edit). I don't believe that's appropriate, but it's important to consider that the only way you'll be unblocked is if you can convince the community that you'll cease the attacks. I hope you take this in the spirit that it's intended; please feel free to use your talk page to make your case, if you wish, but I would implore you to leave your personal feelings out of it as it's quite obviously not coming across helpfully. His section above about "it's time the general public knows about wmf sanctions etc etc etc" after already being told something similar to this indicates that he's not really willing to comply with this type of request. (X! · talk)  · @904  ·  20:42, 24 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

SEPRIS:WMF=partofrealif;

He should remain blocked since he has abused sockpuppets in the past. It appears that he will be community banned at the AN/I discussion. Kindzmarauli (talk) 05:35, 25 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:50, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
